Hi,
I have a big prbolem with Google Camera app. When I take a shot of panorama or Photosphere my pictures are very blurry and unfocused. I tried a lot of ROMS, but its still same (original MIUI V6, V7, Ivans AOSP 5.1, oficial CM13.1 stable and nightlies). Its pretty flustrating... . Plz help me.
Here are sample photos...

Same. Really annoying.
Agreed. Some devs should really look into this. The focusing just doesn't work out when in Panorama/PhotoSphere mode!
Pls, If you have these problems too...confirm my bug report on miui forum here:

Thx a lot.

Hello guys. I just flashed Virtuous Quattro's ICS ROM and after playing around with it I realized that the camera has a bit of a problem ( tho I knew it did from the forums ) and I was just wondering which camera apps which are out on the market is the best for taking good pictures. I've tried Camera360, FxCamera but it's not really satisfying. ( Could be because I came from a sense ROM although I prefer AOSP builds but sense cameras are just really good )
If possible can anyone name me a few camera apps I could try out? One that can focus manually if there is an app that does that. THANKS IN ADVANCE GUYS!
Here are a few I have tried - Ucam, lgCamera, CameraMX and Pudding Camera.. They are all pretty decent.
amaze camera is greate
camerazoomfx and vignette(good post processing)
Hi at all, I want just share the 1+ one camera .
I tested it on CM 11 nightly 16.05 and It should work on all cm based roms.
i found it quite buggy on beanstalk tbh. burst shot isn't working properly at all
Any improvements compared to stock CM camera? I have my phone at technical service right now so can't test it
Thx men, i haven't found any problem with this camera. much better than stock cm camera
Hello there! :fingers-crossed: This thread is about photo comparing CM vs Stock. I've seen many users asking and won't flashing CM based ROMs on their OP3 because of camera quality. It is true , camera quality on stock OOS ROM is great. So im asking/ welcoming for users who have flashed & using CM bases ROM to share the photos they to compare the photo quality. So purpose of this thread is to help/ to get a better understanding about photo quality of CM based ROM. This will many of you guys to change their mind and flash CM ROMs..
1. Post only photos that have captured using CM based ROM
2. It would be great if you guys can post the current CM ROM you are using..
With today's nightly, all photo modes are supported with Snap.
http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/154668/
This means that quality should be on par with OxygenOS now.
op3: Support for OP3 camera modes
* OnePlus decided that scene modes didn't really mean anything anymore
and used them for mode switching in their camera HAL. That's fine,
we can deal with it. And make new ones of our own.
* This patch will set up a number of useful modes:
- Auto: no magic besides lowlight fixups
- ClearShot: the "Super" multi-frame composite algorithm
- HDR: hipster ****
- Best Shot: auto-HDR and scene detection
- ChromaFlash: multi-frame night shot using flash
- Burst: enables continuous shot mode by long-press shutter

ChromaFlash sounds like a great feature!

Let's wait and see, the nightly should be available in a few hours.
I am still on OOS 3.2.2 because of the camera, any photos with the upcoming nightly are appreciated!

Do you mean the version that will come out? (I imagine tonight...)
Cmq, I enclose some of my test about different cameras I've tried; official rom CM13 by Grarak, build 2016 - 08-02.
Camera software tested:
A better camera
Cyanogen
Footej
Fv Room 5
Google camera
Manual camera
Open camera
Pro Shot
Photos taken in different situations with automatic settings; but in photographs containing plants and flowers you can see very well the artifacts caused by the software.
There is also a photo taken in raw with Pro Shot and then developed in PNG; it is not the highest quality, but the situation improves significantly.
P.S.: For proper evaluation, the pictures are to be displayed at 100% of their size (I use Photoshop).

I am talking about the nightly which is up next. It should be online in about two hours judging by cm's buildbot.
Currently the nightly for the op2 is being built.
edit: the nightly is building now, maybe an hour to go.
Quick suggestion guys,it would be great if you can upload it to imgur or and post something..Zip files also great to...Thank your guys help .. really appreciate..

In the 4th folder there are pictures taken in "low light" conditions, with ISO 2500. But I do not have photos taken at night because I formatted (I must now install the new cyanogen rom )
Ok, new test with new Cyanogen camera. You will find the information in the file.
Regarding the artifacts on plants (seen in previous photos) here's a slight improvement.

Camera is really great. I couldn't try low light photography. But i would say camera is 80%-90% closer to OOS..
PS
Camera has some exposure issue, focusing issue..So im back to OOS
Hello guys,
I´m in search of a bug-free camera app, which gives good results.
Personally I think it´s shame what kind of softwar sony has released to the whole z series, taking into consideration the "soft-skin" bug is still present, no matter which Android Version or App we choose.
So that´s the reason I been searching for a camera app/mod, which allows me to take pictures that are matching the capabilities of this phone as described.
So far I tried these mods:
Cyberian Camera 6.0 - Fisheye Bug, makes it unusable for me
ZR-Cam: Not working with Z3 Lollipop 5.1.1.
Z5 Mod and Libs
None of them been bugfree or gave good quality results.
So I ask the community kindly:
Is there one app for Lollipop preferably, which gives good results and is bugfree?
Regards and thank you in advance!
Have you tried stock KK camera? I was on 4.4 just because of the amazing camer shots it could offer! BUT i flashed 6.0.1 and installed Cyberian(the one you tried too) and I'm still on it ( i haven't faced the Fisheye bug).
You should backup your phone and give stock 4.4 camera app a try!
Well, the fisheye bug only appears on Lollipop IV cyberian. You think there´s a KK ported camera App for Lollipop? I don´t think so tbh
I wish there was such a port.... My bad. What I actually meant was install 4.4 ftf... Best stock camera you'll get...( 10 times better than LP stock and MM stock, specially on video recording! )
In theory it should work on this device, right? I'm not sure if I installed it right but it doesn't seem to work yet for me. It's still in beta so that could change. This is the article for those that haven't seen it yet, https://www.xda-developers.com/google-camera-hdr-ported/
I'm stoked because my current Rom doesn't have hdr
Doesn't work here on lastest stable 8.2.5.0 build under android 6...
Snap camera give me good result anyway !!
I just tried it with the latest RRemix and it works like a charm. Really impressed with the detail it gets out. I hated the pictures made with the normal Google camera, especially since I was traveling these days and it's either an overexposed sky, or underexposed building that were on the picture. Now I can have the best of both worlds.
Then require Nougat ROM version !!
Thx for report

Hi. Can you post some pics? Maybe comparing to default and snap camera if possible. Thanks!
Sure thing, here is an album for you of some quick pictures I took. The difference is quite big and you can see it immediately.

Thanks! Nice improvement. The camera is the only thing keeping me from making the Mi Mix my dd. That may change soon once I check it out. Anymore pics comparing to say, snap camera ap would be great. Thanks again!

Sure mate, here are more pictures. This time with Snap Camera samples too.

Since I don't use the Snap Camera all too much, this is a huge improvement in picture quality. Especially how it gets the harsh lighting and sky to be correct.

Based off those samples it seems like Snap strikes a good middle ground. I used FV-5 and Open Camera and low light pictures would always be even darker than they appeared. I tried the modded Google Camera with HDR+ and while it does take better photos in darker surroundings it almost goes a bit too far.
Sure, but I'm not into changing apps and whatnot and setting up manual modes to get the most of my shots. With this, I get a good picture. And all I had to do was point and shoot. Good enough for me. Now I'm actually compelled to take more pictures, since it takes good pictures now.
So this doesn't work with the original ROM? Mine crashes straight away.

Doesn't work on the latest EPIC (7.7.20 MIUI) either. I assume it doesn't work because MIUI 8/9 is still based on Android 7.0 and this app was extracted from 7.1.2 (the app is a mod of Camera version 4.4.012 which requires 7.1+).
Hey Guys,
I wondering if I am missing the trick to this... I am running LOS so camera API2 enabled via HAL3 enabled = 1
But when I try to install the apk, I get the error:
App not Installed
The package conflicts with an existing package by the same name.
Any ideas? I really want to try this!
Install apk, enable camera API2, reboot.
Work on latest Epic ROM.
Not working on stock chinese MIUI 8.5.3.0(MAHCNED)....application crashes

Based on photos it's very clear that Google hdr+ captures a lot of detail from the sky, and that's what I missed a lot on standart camera app...
Thanks for sharing!

I'm running latest epic everything is fine and nice with Google photo app but the main camera app Force to close when I try to take a photo, it does however take videos normally. Do you know any workaround?
EDITED
Nevermind, clearing cache and data solves the issue !
MAN, finally we got a great HDR!!!
I'm very happy, this HDR IS AWESOME
I've been using the modded Google camera for a couple of days now on RR 5.8.4. I like it a lot! I can hardly believe that the photos, especially with HDR+ on (instead of HDR+ auto) were from my Mix.
Mostly everything works. Panorama, Photo Sphere, Lens Blur all work. I did find a couple of issues, though. The worst one is that the video camera, both in normal and slow motion mode, crashes probably 9 times out of 10. It seems to work, but after the filming is over the app crashes when the video is saved. There is a file saved that is unreadable. This is the only issue that prevents me from making this app my default camera.
A minor issue, that's probably fixable with a build.prop change, is the selfie cam takes upside down photos.
