Hi!
I have a problem with my S3 Mini. I was running cyanogenmod 12.1 for one week and I clicked on google drive app. Suddenly the screen lag and I took the battery out and then pulled it back on. But the phone wont turn up even the download mode. I put the charger on but no result. When I connect it to the pc it shows up a U8500 USB ROM for 3 seconds and then disconnect and connect continously.
Is it hard bricked?
Hello, I had similar situation last week: installed CM11, used for about a day - no problems, installed Google Apps, after restart it won't boot anymore even into download. Maybe Google services did something with hardware?
Maybe the cpu can't handle the rom proccesses and gets dead. I thought it was hard bricked but the phone can turn hard bricked during the installation of the rom. My ROM was installed successfully so I think the cpu might be dead after one week working on 5.1.1

Eventually the eMMC chip may be weared but only big change in partitions content triggers it's dead.

hi to all, I've got a big problem with my wizard. after i installed the italian mamelli 2.0 ROM, during the customization process (the ROM upgrading ended successfully after a few tries) my wizard suddenly turned off and it doesn't turn on anymore. no vital sign is shown, even if i try to charge it no led turns on. first i thought that the battery could be discharged and so now i connected it with 2 cables to a 9V battery (as i was reading in another similar thread) and I'm planning to let it charge like this for a few hours. if it doesn't work is there anything else i can do? i think it's not a brick, i bricked it twice before and i have always unbricked it after a few tries but this time is different. it doesn't even turn on in the 3 colors mode. what could I do?
isn't there anybody who can help me?
Try to downgrade......
how could i downgrade it if it doesn't even turn on?
have you tried jtag?
Try Dwngrade
you can download the original ROM from i-mate ftp site....
maybe I didn't explain myself, the device doesn't even turn on, it's completely dead. the computer doesn't recognize it because it's turned off and it can't be turned on. no vital signs... i tried even to download and flash the original ROM but the flashing tool says that no device is connected, and he's right, the device is dead and doesn't turn on.
Hello,
I have a really strange experience with my G1. Last July when I was trying the latest Hero ROM /I do not remember exactly which/, my phone started to act strangely. When I was playing music through the music player, the phone suddenly shut down itself /without any reason/. I turned it on, the phone booted properly, worked for around 5 minutes and died again. This time it refused to power on /nothing happened when I pushed the power button/. From this moment I told myself that my phone is a complete brick, because I tried everything CAMERA+POWER; HOME+POWER, putted on the charger;USB, there was no reaction at all.
Today I have putted the USB cable /without any reason, hope dies last / and my phone suddenly showed a red LED. I pushed the POWER button and the led turned off, blinked and turned off again, when I released the button the RED LED turned itself on again. I tried HOME+POWER without any result, then CAMERA+POWER and it entered bootloader. Then I downloaded RC29 in order to downgrade it. The phone found the image file properly but it displayed the following error: Battery voltage too low, please change battery, I tried it several times, ending with the same error. I rebooted the phone it showed T-MOBILE G1 screen for about 10 seconds and it died again without showing any signs of life.
What should I do? Can this really be caused from the battery? Or is it something else?
The phone was running DANGER-SPL with the latest radio. I have flashed many roms after the installation of DANGER-SPL. The rom previously installed on the device was CYANOGEN MOD experimental /I do not remember the version/.
Thanks!
I don't mean to be rude, but it says low voltage charge battery. Why not do that, or buy a new battery.
Seems the phone doesn't recognize the full battery, I'm having the same problem - my thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5307393
The battery I think must be full when flashing otherwise something goes wrong, but it's not bricked. I'm trying a few things...
Hi guys, so I've had Xperia X8 since june or so. It always worked perfectly, got rid of stock eclair really early and used GingerDX for a long time daily on stock kernel 'cause it's newer edition of phone I'm told I shouldn't do anything about it, just install rom on stock kernel. And that was fine really but yesterday my phone started rebooting randomly and I could tolerate that, but then it started rebooting over and over in circle without ever making it to run the system. Today, however, It just got stuck on Sony Ericsson words logo and it was like that whole day. I thought first maybe battery is dead or something but obviously it's not. So I repaired it through Sony Ericsson PC Companion and, naturally, it returned to eclair. However it kept doing reboot stuff, only now it starts the system but as soon you disconnect charger phone reboots and start system again and after about 5 second reboots again and so on. When I plug charger in, it shows it's charging and it's fine it works but sometimes when I try to type something or just randomly do something it reboots but it's not that often. Once phone is 100 charged I disconnect it and after some time it reboots and run again and show battery is 19% or so and then reboots again and again and so on in circle but battery never dies. So I tried factory reset, installed GingerDX again and it still does this boot thing and just won't survive without a charger. Also when I repaired it through PCC eclair wouldn't let me connect to market aka google play it said: "can't establish a reliable data connection to the server" and I tried factory reset and it didn't work. Facebook, browser anything else internet related did. Could anyone take a guess what seems to be a problem and help me fix it? Thanks in advance
next time write a post clearly
Maybe theres a problem with your battery.
Consider replacing it.

Hello! Have you solved this problem? because I´m inthe exactly same situation than you are and I can't be sure if is battery issue, Did you check battery?
Hi,
First of all, thank you for reading this thread.
I'm pretty sure I am dealing with totally hard bricked phone but I thought I might try and see if there is anything else I can do with my phone issue.
I have GT-N7000 (AKA Note 1) and had it for quite awhile approximately for 3-4 years. I was texting on my phone and it suddenly reset it self. Then it was stuck on that GT-N7000 logo. So I decided to turn the phone off and change the battery. After that, the phone doesn't turn on anymore.
So here are some details.
1. Phone does not turn on (Yes, it doesn't even show Samsung logo, screen stays black and nothing turns on).
2. Phone does not go into recovery mode or download mode.
3. I have 4 other spare batteries fully charged with separate battery charger - Tried them all and phone still doesn't turn on.
4. Tried connect phone to wall charger and PC via USB cable - Phone doesn't show anything and stays not turned on & PC doesn't recognise the phone.
5. I left the phone with battery off for 1-2 hours and tried to turn it on - Doesn't turn on.
I am assuming that I am not dealing with faulty screen but guessing that one of phone's IC chip or even processor is *Dead*.
Is there anything else that I could try that might worth a try?
Once again, thank you for reading this and hope to hear from anyone's input

What ROM were you using and have you faced any random resets in the past? It does sound like something got fried in there, try bringing it to a dealer to check.

Thanks you for your reply.
I had CM rom which I can't remember what it was unfortunately now...
Yes the phone used to go random reset on me when the phone was on both stock rom and custom rom. Probably it was sign saying that the phone was gonna die,. LOL.
So basically, I have given up on the phone, its dead and probably gonna need to change some sort of chip on the motherboard..
Now I have another GN with be and this time its 7000B instead of just 7000... pain to install philz on this bloody thing.
Again, thank you!
I do not even have my S4 mini for two weeks, and I've allready problems with bugs
The problem is that sometimes (tonight it happened the second time), when my phone charges overnight (~7-8 hrs.), at the morning the LED lights green, and the phone does not respond to anything. I've tried to press every button, the emergency power off combination, wait for 10 mins... but the LED is still green and nothing happens.
After taking out the battery it works again.
Only thing I did was taking out the Battery in order to be able to take out my SD-Card and copying some music to it.
Is anybody else facing this issue too?
PS: I haven't installed the latest firmware update, since I always wait 1-2 weeks before I install it
Lets check a few things first:
1. It's the S5 mini forum, so I assume you have one and not S4 mini;
2. Are the battery, charger and USB cable originals? If not, try different one, Samsung preferably;
3. Did you try removing the SD and/or SIMs for charging?
I would update the firmware as it may fix the bug that may cause the problem, if system related. To make sure it's not hardware, back up your days and do a factory reset, and if you are not on stock firmware then revert to stock first.

1. Yes, I do have a S5 mini now, my old S4 mini has died (hardware)
2. I mostly use the orginal charger or the one of my S4 mini. But yesterday, when it happened again, I'm 100% sure that I used the S5 mini charger
3. I will try this tonight
As I found out after my first post, this does not only happen during loading, but also when just having the screen off in your bag.
Upgraded Firmware yesterday, my brother plugged it in (I don't know which charger he used), and BOOM it happened AGAIN. Just like one day before I took out the battery, this time to copy maps to my extSDCard. And later, when sitting in the sun, it happened again, the battery was warm but not hot (I have an App that calles my at 41°C, but it seems like this has not been reached and the phone also didn't powered off when it had 44°C)
I will try to charce without SIM and SD-Card today, even if I don't think that it'll change anything.
PS: The emergency power off seems to work, I probably just waited not long enough
