How is your use patterns with the Urbane? - LG Watch Urbane

Hi guys so I just got my very first smartwatch today and was wondering what you guys mostly do with your smartwatch? Of course other than checking the time
I paired the Urbane with my G2 so its completely LG.
Share thoughts, experiences etc

When the hype of having a smart watch dies off, u will realise that u only uses it mainly for notification.
Some may use as alarm, some use as music player while running.

Most used...
I use it mostly for notifications and to divert calls, checking bank-account via banking-app and use stopwatch/heartratemonitor LG Pulse when running.

I use it for notifications, making/declining calls, counting my steps with Google Fit and setting my phone to vibrate or Priority without unlocking it.

TELLING THE TIME of course then: Notifications - Rejecting calls - Reading and deleting emails - Reading and deleting SMS.

Device Compatibility\

I can't seem to find info on this. I know its a little early but maybe a list could get started on what devices are 100% compatible with the Pebble.
Android ans ios.

So doesn't matter if you have Bluetooth 2.1, 3 or 4?
compatibility
◦iPhone 3GS, 4, 4S, 5 or any iPod Touch with iOS 5 or iOS 6.
- as of now, it does NOT work with iPad
◦Android devices running OS 2.3 and up.
If there is enough interest they may add Windows 8 Phones at a later date, and as of now they have no plans to support Blackberry.

Working great on my Nexus 4 on 4.3.
Have a Galaxy S4 and works great with that except for one issue. When I don't have my watch on or with me, the Pebble app keeps trying to reconnect if bluetooth is on. The only way I have come up with to stop it is to Freeze the app with TiBu

You need to go to Pebble app on you phone and disconnect if you are not going to use your pebble watch that day.

xiaomi mi2 and Pebble, trouble call and sms notification
Hallo,
i try to sync phone call notification and sms notification on pebble with the pebble app on my mi2 but nothing happened.
I sync with samsung galaxy s3 and everything work perfect but with my mi2 didn't work :crying: i'm really sad for this.
i discovered a workaround with pebble notifier. The sms work, not like the original but it is ok. The call sand me only the id number of call notification and i have not option to ignore the call or something like this. i tried with the pebble dialer and i can make call and see the contact but for call notification i never found solution.
other function work well with this device music player phone ringer ...
if anyone find solution answer thank you

Having problems with viber and whats app

after updating my lumia 625 to WP 8.1 beta im having notification problems with both viber and whats app... it seems like when my phone is locked it kind of goes into deep sleep and never gives any notifications for viber and whats app... after unlocking my phone i could sometimes see rush of notifications all at onece.. and sometimes i have to open the app to get the notifications.. its annoying... i bought 625 a week ago and immediately updated to 8.1 beta....its my first WP so im a bit confused.. am i missing something?? or this notification problems have been present from the beginning?? if any one could help i will be grateful as im very depended with those apps.... and people can seem to find me on time due to notification problem....
ps : there is no problem with GSM phone call and message.
Do you have a data plan? By default, WiFi turns off while the screen is off and the phone unplugged, so if you rely on WiFi for data then you won't get notifications until the phone is woken up, plugged in, or you change the WiFi settings.
Guys! SOLVED IT.
Push notifications doesnt work, because (I am almost 100% sure) all of you use Wifi connection only without SIM mobile data usage allowed. I think some guys thought at Microsoft that their phones will be used only with mobile internet packages or at places where there is always signal (sorry norwegians...). Friend of mine has a data package of a random size and she did not turn off data usage on the go, so she had always had the skype, viber calls and notifications at the moment they had been sent - also never understood my problem...
Solution: on Win 8.1 Lumia 532 go to Settings>Lock Screen, where you will see five apps to have rights to show detailed status when the screen is off. Select Skype, Viber, Whatsapp, whatever IM application, and you will be ringed once someone tries to call you via video or voice.
Tested on 532, gonna test it on wife's 550 after my shift.
Solution #2 (if you are not it the remote northern norwegian mountain region): buy at least the smallest monthly data package, when you run out the Mbs, the operator still gives you a small bandwidth that will enable you to get push notifications and also make calls when in WiFi area.
Peace!

[Q] Ok Google & Bluetooth Issues

I am facing a couple of issues with my GWR, please let me know if anyone else is facing the same issue & if you have a solution for it.
1. BT connectivity - Its not terrible but I am not a fan, GWR disconnects from my phone without any reason all of a sudden especially when I give a voice command, either a google search or reply to a message. Sometimes I have to restart it to reconnect.
2. Ok Google - 90% of the time it does not work whether it is google search or reply to a message. It listens to me & then says 'Offline' & I am like WTF. This is a deal-breaker for me actually.
3. Pedomter Issue - The watch pedometer does not work unless you select a watch face which is counting steps & other than Google Fit there is no way to see the steps counted by the watch, Google Fit & the watch pedometer are never in sync, I see difference of thousands & the pedometer does not count steps in certain situations (Example: While shopping if my hands are on the shopping cart)

Turn off Mobile Data nag notification?

Please excuse this post which is not strictly concerning an Optimus Black. There's no forum for an Optimus Zone 2 (VerizonPP) but I hope this is a common enough issue which must have broader application.
I'm using an Optimus Zone 2 as a replacement for my recently deceased and much-loved Insignia Pilot. The rise of the smart phone has meant the demise of really capable mp3 players like the Pilot but I realized that an Android device would allow me to find music, audiobook, and video apps that might come close to replacing my Pilot.
I've got the phone, by-passed the activation, rooted, customized. The battery is not as long-lasting, but there is a lot going on "under the hood", so that's OK.
I have 3G disabled, WiFi off unless used. My only real complaint with my setup is the annoying nag notification that comes up when I power up the phone concerning the lack of a data connection. It wouldn't be so bad if it would just go away by itself, but no, I have to dismiss it with a touch. I've disabled every phone related app I can find, turned off notifications for those it would not let me disable. And still it's there.
Is there a way to get rid of something like this?
[no, I don't use the device as a phone--although I have GrooveLite Ip installed for emergencies when WiFi is available. I don't own a cell phone. Have no use for one. But it's hard to beat a $30 "mp3" player running KitKat!)

Text notifications

Hi. I posted briefly before about a problem I was having. I have a nexus 6p and a vw 2016 head unit. Everything works really well & connects instantly etc except: I am not getting any notification sound for incoming text or hangouts messages. This is not very safe as you have to keep looking at the screen to make sure you haven't missed anything important. The strange thing is that this corrected itself on a recent journey and it was bleeping incoming messages just fine. But now it's gone back to complete silence again?! I'm not aware of having changed anything in set up. Is there anything I could have missed in terms of settings?
Any thoughts or experiences welcome.
Thanks.

You're not alone. I have found a post somewhere were someone was experiencing the same issue. I also have this issue. No matter what application, there is no notification sound. I think they've changed something in the code that doesn't allow the notifications to gain audio focus, therefore it doesn't play notification sounds. I made a work around using tasker. It seems when I use tasker and use the "say" command (for TTS) and have it set to respect audio focus, then it will interrupt (audio ducking) the audio on the stereo and say whatever I need it to say. I use Autonotification and a few other things to trigger the TTS. For example, if I get a telegram message it will say "New Telegram Message".

Ok. Thanks for your thoughts on this. The thing I find quite strange too, is that the time it was functioning correctly, was definately since the last AA update version. End of March I believe. Now it no longer functions in my case and to my knowledge there have been no software updates to either AA or the phone itself since then to change anything . Stranger and stranger!
Apologies for resurrecting an old thread, but I'm having exactly this issue on a Nexus 5x connecting to a Kia Niro stock Android Auto head unit.
When connected, new messages received in Google Messenger and WhatsApp generate notification cards on the head unit and are read when tapping the card. However no notification tone is generated when the message is received.
Are you guys still having the same issue? Or did you find a resolution..

Hi. In my experience, I don't think there are any solutions as such. There are many "solutions" talked about on forums and it seems some of them work for some & not others and even amongst those that they work for, they may not work all the time. Therefore they can hardly be called a solution really. My experience of this is that it seems to depend on the software of the phone rather than just the AA app. By that I mean that after I upgraded my Nexus 6p from android 6 to android 7, performance on android auto in the car has been much more reliable. Pretty much 100% as it should work in fact.

Thanks for responding - I expected as much, just wanted to avoid a DenverCoder9 scenario.
I've implemented a workaround for now using existing an existing Tasker + OutLoud profile to announce the message arrival over the media connection. Hopefully it'll simply start working one day..
And my notifications on a vw at are too loud. Try to increase the volume while you have a notification playing
I, too was having this issue and I think I have it solved, at least for my situation. Once I turned off AT&T's Advanced Messaging, I began to receive all my text notifications again. I know this solution might not apply to everyone but I know other carriers have similar features that may also cause issues.
