LG Urbane Charging Stand now available! - LG Watch Urbane

Hey XDA members, we at MOD EDIT - Removed have developed a new way to charge your urbane watches. We plan on creating the same solution for the urbane as we did for the huawei watch. No more buying overly expensive adapters, or a cheap Chinese charger that can damage the watch by overheating and provide a bad connection. This stand allows for the use of the factory LG charger(not included) for excellent piece of mind. The stand is 3D printed, which gives it a cool tech appeal, and will even be a conversation starter as it sits on your desk at work. The stand is equipped with rubber feet to prevent sliding. We won't be posting any links or ordering information as it is prohibited, this is for information only. MOD EDIT - Removed. Thanks

Well, I'm sad to say, but comparing to converted Spigen Apple iWatch stand, presented LG stand doesn't look very well.
I prefer slim and metal look of Spigen's stand:

Just an FYI, not everyone want a bottle cap in their stand to hold up their several hundred dollar watch. Plus with the urbane charger the usb plug is just left hanging out, looks cheap. We have sold a lot of stands for the huawei, urbane, and samsung, with more to come, and everyone that has ordered has loved their stand. We appreciate your opinion, even if it is unnecessarily negative, but thats all it is, your opinion. :good:

Well, I never said it's an opinion of other people. It was only my opinion, since there is only my nickname visible next to my posts (please read carefully).
As well there is no bottle cap on my modified Spigen Apple iWatch stand and there is no risk that anything would happen to not-such-expensive watch. The stand is protecting the watch very well and there is rather a risk that something would happen to the device during daily usage, when the watch is not placed on the stand.
Plus, USB plug on the left side doesn't look that cheap as your no-metal stand, which additionally looks extremely massive comparing to such a beautiful watch. I would like to notice, that USB plug is also visible on the left of your stand. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I'm happy to hear that all the people who bought your stands loved it, by I have no idea what does it have to do with following topic; however it surprised me you don't care about opinion of your potential customers.
Or maybe you just wanted to advertise your product.

We absolutely care about the opinions of our current and potential customers, but you are neither. You expressed that your currently happy with your solution, which is great, so you have no interest in our brand or product. You came in here just to bash our work. Think about how you would feel? Nevertheless I wish you well and thanks for the thread bump.

I like the design.
What I do not like is that the cable is very tense

Hi,
Unfortunately changing the method of contact does not "loophole" the fact that a product is still being/trying to be sold on the forums.

Cheap dock alternative

so like many of you fellow Hero owners, I have considered purchasing a dock. However, I feel like most of us refuse to shell out big bucks for what essentially a usb cable mounted in a piece of plastic.
while stumbling across the interwebs last night i found this:

someone posted a DIY dock for ipods that apparently works with heroes as well.
"what fun!" i thought. i quickly tried it out with some heavy paper and realized i needed some sort of card stock to make this actually work.. off to walmart. it was there that i found this little gem
http://store.microsoft.com/microsoft/Seagate-FreeAgent-Go-Dock/product/B65D8227
it's some sort of docking thing for external hard drives (because it's totally practical). anyway, i inspected it and realized it was exactly what i wanted..
a usb cable inside molded plastic. the best part? it was $3.00 on clearance.
the phone doesn't exactly fit at first but i simply had to cut some of the front plastic lip away and it works GREAT. exactly what i wanted..
for 3 dollars
Really? Only three dollars!? I'm doing this as soon as I get home from school..back to math class for now..
Great find! Looking forward to this!

Yeah They have this on clearance at my walmart too but even with my silicone case off the phone it barely sat down inside, so ti does need some fairly heavy dremel-ing or something to get it to work. I still may go buy one, make myself a little project.
just an added bonus, the leather case fits my western digital external hard drive

yeah i wish i had a dremel, it would have turned out a little better looking. i just used some wire cutters and snipped a little away
I bought the same dock at Best Buy like a monthe ago and just used a knife to trim it to fit the phone. It works perfectly!
After some research into it, I found this over at Android Forums!
http://androidforums.com/sprint-htc-hero/17311-lol-hero-stand.html
I think that is pretty creative!
Yeah, I think 90% of us who've been around at least a few months have come across that, but it's still a good LOL anyways!
I bought 2 of these docks but I dont think they came with the leather cases so you got a nice treat there, but I have a dremel and I think I will run it on the back part of the dock rather than the front, so that way when I shove my hero into it it actually fits in that tight space lol. I have the black gel case from best buy for $20 or whatever it was, and a generic screen protector on the screen (it scratches as I swipe my screen LOL!) That's Fellowes products for ya though, right?
can someone post a pic of what this looks like in action?

PDair horizontal case

I posted here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8464878&postcount=12 about the Tuff Luv case, Today my PDair case arrived and so here's a little bit about it.
First off, it came well packaged in a cardboard box with protective material around it. The build quality 'seems' mostly good, stitching is fine and the magnetic closure works well, there are card slots for those that want them.
But, my reason for buying a case for my Streak was for protection against bangs and knocks, you can see from the middle image below that this case has some serious failings in that department. The device fits firmly enough into the case once you have pushed it all the way in, however as you can see one end just doesn't go together well, the top cover is not anchored down and curls upward, as does the lid to an extent on both ends when closed

The wide open end is not readily visible in the product images on eBay
The speaker grill is just 5 holes punched in the back and seem like an afterthought as they are not finished the same as the other apertures are.
The PDair case was £32, the Tuff Love case in the previous post £25, even if the TL case had been the more expensive it would still have been better value, as it is, it being 25% cheaper than the PDair the Tuff Luv wins hands down. I'm really quite disappointed with this one.
Thanks for the write up nice job mate
I have been looking at these but i think you have changed my mind not to get one thanks
I agree, thanks for taking the trouble to do this.
These leather cases just look so ugly and crude to my eye. All the more so when contrasted with the precision made technology that they are encasing.
It is a jarring juxtaposition and I don't understand why people find them desirable and attractive.
But then PDair would be out of business if there were more like me so I accept that my opinion is a minority.
Well I can't agree about leather cases in general, I really do like my TL one. I'd be interested to see what the Otter Defender case looks like, I think it might offer pretty good protection if they ever make it.
Thanks for the writeup and images of the pdair as well as the tuff luv case.
I really am not a fan of such bulky cases, but if I had to chose I would pick the pdair one.
I am really looking forward to the simply 'slide in (with no flap) pdair case.

a cheap stand for the nook

so here i was with a leather case for my nook but it did not have a stand and i desperately wanted to have a stand whenever i want to watch a video and leave my hands free. I supposed it can get a picture easel and use that but since i am already carrying my nook, i wanted something i can easily carry in my pocket. A new case with stand is probably $25-$40 - and i am sure my wife would want the same for her nook a well - so instead i went down my local computer store and bought a cable wrap for $7 -

so i connect to ends to get the strap longer, insert the pins through the cable holes - with the kit i bought i can make 2 of these (one for me and the other for my wife)
and now i can watch my videos hand free in landscape
or in portrait (with the help of a stick)
That's a lot of ingenuity right here. Or, you could stop at the nearest Walmart and buy a fold-down photo frame stand for $2.
uhh if you read the post it did say i could do that but that wouldn't fit in my pocket now

Have you seen those stands? They fold down completely flat and are less then 7 inches long. How much more pocktable do you want to go?
to each his own, i don't need a 7 inch stand in my pocket to make me feel like a man

Good job! I think part of the fun of buying a piece of technology early (in this case it's not early, but still early in the accessories game) is creating solutions to things that work for you that others have either not made or have made too expensively! I, too, was working on a case/stand combo (on paper) as I had not bought a case yet, and just when I was about to go out and spend a good amount of money on it, I find rooCASE has made exactly what I was going to (and for slightly cheaper than I woulda spent). So I lost out in the fun of building it, but I did have fun thinking of all the different things I "could" do!
Not as cheap but I got this stand on amazon.
http://www.amazon.com/Arkon-Portabl...VOOY/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1301965231&sr=8-2
It works pretty well with NC in my trident aegis case.
I was in need of a stand that cost me nothing (just temporary until I get my case next week) and I tore the back off one of those desktop calendars and it works GREAT! Just thought I'd share this!
Anyone tried one of those plate stands. I know my wife has a few laying around i might try to steal next week when i get home.
Amazon Store - Clear-Plastic-Easels-Plate-Holders
I am sure you can find them at the dollar store too. And they fold so you can pocket them.
Yes and it works great

sooo cheap
this is what i did, cheap for sure, not portable but i dont care. works great when im playing super mario bro 3 via wiimote

[REVIEW] Artech21 Leather Case

Disclaimer: I got a significant discount to rate this product. That will not alter my review.
This is a good, sturdy case that I've been using for a little over a week. I ride a motorcycle and have been using this case solely for the convenience that it provides me in regards to being able to have my license, credit cards, cash and phone all in one convenient place.
The case is well made, but the leather is a bit odoriferous and smells as if it's either mildewed or be around some mold. The smell is still present after a week, but it is going away slowly. This can be smelled when you are on the phone talking. The wrist strap does seem durable but how long it will last, I'm unsure. I would have liked to see the wrist strap be leather as well to assure more strength with it.
The stand feature is not something that I used very frequently but it is a very nice touch and I'm glad that feature is offered. It's rare to find a leather case that allows you the ability to "stand" it.
The "Artech21" stamping on the front was just the tiniest bit crooked, which played with my OCD. It is stamped deeply and looks like it will not wear over time.
In addition to the leather wrist strap, I'd like to see this in more colors and the ability to monogrammed. If customers were able to get their ow initials of perhaps 10 characters free with the case, it would be a great selling point.
I like this case quite a bit and it is my only case that I will be using for my motorcycle riding. You won't be disappointed should you purchase this case.

My Orzly OnePlus 3 £25 Goodie Bag

Hi guys,
I have my shiny new phone at last! Feels like such a big upgrade from my old OnePlus One (well maybe bar the screen)
So here is what £24.45 brought me from Amazon (the price of an official OnePlus cover)
I have posted a few things about the FlexiCase already but you can ask me about anything...
My first impressions are that it is all presented very well giving it a premium feel for such a great price. I feel everything you get is a really awesome deal and just wanted to let you guys know.
Here is a pic of my package:

Orzly FlexiCase
Orzly Ring stand
Orzly 5 in 1 screen protector pack
Orzly Multifunctional Wallet case
I have my final exam on Monday so bear with me. I will update as much as I can as soon as I can, but please feel free to ask me any questions
Hope you are all enjoying or are as excited about your OP3 as I am...
I have got a case from OnePlus and Cruzerlite on its way so hopefully I can give feedback on those too.
Having put on the screen protectors, I would definitely recommend them over OP as a short term solution. Fits more of the screen!
Here are some great uses of the the ring! Use it to hold the OP3 if you have smaller hands, using it as a stand on tables and even wall mounting...
How do these ring stands secure to the phone again?

OK I have been looking at these. Too cheap to spend the 8 bux to just check it out, but, does the ring get in the way a lot when you don't want to use it. In other words, does it fold down nicely and stay or keep flapping around. I am thinking this may be a good thing for me to use because I use my phone with another BT device at the same time (getting into lockboxes) and have dropped phones more than once fumbling around.
