I lost my base-band version after flashing it in odin and i have not been able to get it back. I have been trying several methods in the past week including flashing the stock firmware (numerous times) with odin and even using the emergency recovery software in odin (numerous times). Both of these methods have not worked, they don't even get passed the Samsung boot logo and i have no idea what to do. If someone can please help me it would be greatly appreciated.
If you want to get back to stock you can try restoring with Samsung Kies. I did it several times during testing of various ROMs. It even worked after I deleted my system in TWRP.

Hi guys,
I have browsed the forum and have tried several of the remedies here but still no luck. I have been running Darkyy's 9.0.2 rom for a few weeks now, with a 500hz- speedmod kernel (don't remember what flavour, but was flashed via CWM). It has been running great since I flashed.
The problem arose when I went into settings to simply change the lock screen. I selected another lockscreen and my phone rebooted. Then it gave me quite a few FC errors,so I decided to boot into recovery and 'restore' a previous save. Now my phone just shows the samsung logo and reboots.
I am able to get into download mode but not recovery. This will be the fourth time I have to send it away. Is there another option or is this still my only option?
Any thing specific I should try to flash.
If it helps I am on the BEll network (gt-i9000M)
try to flash JPY base stock ROM with Odin......
try without repartition and pit (1 file PDA, no pit file from samfirmware.com)....
Then flash the latest speedmod kernel.....
Now it should work (maybe! XD)!!
Thanks for your reply, I tried your suggestion but still the same problem. I also tried all of the suggestions on this link. I finally was able to get into the recovery console by flashing JPY (no part, no pit), then immediately flash JL2 (with bootloader, no flash, no pit) but I got the dreaded 'no such directory'...again. So I am SOL but have to take it back today.
Did you tried flashing with 3 files + pit + repartition?
With this method it should work...
Remember: no bootloader update!

Did you ever upgrade to the official Bell JL2? If not, I'd probably do that through Odin and have it update the bootloader. I had gone from JH2 to different cooked roms and would always run into corruption/fc problems a week later. And eventually the phone would just not boot into the OS. The last time it happened, even flashing to another cooked ROM would not work. The official bell JL2 has an bootloader update that seemed to have fixed the issues I was having.
Booted official JL2 and remembered how much I hated lag After that, flashed a 2e kernel through Odin then seeARM's cooked JL2 through clockwork. Been running that for 3 weeks now without any issues.
Hi Guys,
I should probably write down what I flash when I flash it. I honestly do not remember what I flashed. I went through all the threads I could find and tried everything. So to answer your question, I cannot say for sure if I did that or not. But I ended up sending the phone away. It was weird, I asked my fiance to take my phone in while I was at work. She called me later that day and told me that her phone did the same thing so she sent hers back the same day....weird.
Hi,
was very interested in rooting my phone (Samsung Galaxy S) and putting a custom rom on it. I managed to put on Darky's latest rom last night. However it was giving me problems with the Android market (it crashed when it came to the installation part). Therefore, I want to get rid of all the modifications I made to my phone and go back to the settings how the phone was shipped to me.
How can I do that?
I already downloaded the original firmware (2.2.1) using this forum. It is a .tar file and I tried to flash it with Odin. Seemed to work at the beginning but there were still some elements, like apps, of the old Rom left. So I did the process again.
Now my phone starts up but after the boot screen I only have a black screen with the typical crash vibration patterns all the time. After flashing it again I get into the recovery mode showing errors.
Can somebody please tell me how to go back to my original firmware, without a custom rom, root access etc.?
I'm afraid that I will brick my phone now.
thank you
(I searched this forum but couldnt find anything related to my question)
get yourself a firmware that comes in 3 files.... or a firmware than you can re-partition with 1 file.....
go into odin, check repartition and select pit (downloaded with firmware)
flash your phone and that should do the job
Hello everyone.
I have a problem which I hope you'll be willing and able to help with.
I wanted to try out CyanogenMod 10 on my Galaxy S I9000. I was on 2.3.3 so I used Odin to update to 2.3.6 (rooted). Then I installed superuser and mod manager, after which I installed Clockwork. I then used Clockwork to install CM 10. It worked flawlessly and this was my first time flashing ever.
However, I didn;t like CM 10 and decided to revert back to Gingerbread. I read it was as easy as simply using Odin to flash 2.3.6 again. I tried that but got stuck into a bootloop displaying the S sign over and over and over again. I tried downloading the PIT file which made Odin check Repartition by default and flashing like that but it didn't help, I'm still stuck in bootloop. I can access download mode without a problem but I'm stuck in bootloop forever.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Update: I found a thread detailing how to get back to Froyo so I tried it. I used a PIT file, PDA file, PHONE file and CSC file all separately and it worked. Now I'll just have to update back to 2.3.6 No idea why I was only able to revert back to Froyo and not Gingerbread, but it worked, thread can be closed.
Hey,
Bit of a late answer, but so you can refer to it if you ever go back to custom roms.
When you come back to stock from CM10, or any custom rom for that matter, you need to flash in a file named dbsdata.rfs.tar. Fixes the bootloops (custom roms and stock have different data partitions so incompatibilities in data partition cause bootloops like yours)

In the process of rooting my Galaxy S5 I ended up soft-bricking my phone so that it's now in a bootloop. At this point I just want to restore the phone to factory default but I'm having issues doing so.
The issue came when I tried to flash a ROM onto my device using Odin3 which was successful but then, on restart, I got this bootloop. I've now tried a few different ways to fix.
I've:
Cleared cache partition and user data
Tried to use Odin v3.10 to flash stock for different builds (G900VVRU1BOD5, G900VVZW1BOC4,G900VVZW1BOA8) (I believe the phone was on G900VVRU1BOD5 before the bootloop)
I was also stupid and didn't do a backup beforehand.
This thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53454972) seems to suggest that I need to flash the CP and CSC along with the AP but I haven't been able to locate these files.
Any help would be appreciated!
Errors
I guess I forgot to mention that when I attempt to flash the stock firmware I get a FAIL! (Auth) error from Odin almost immediately no matter which ROM I try.
I had this problem. After days of fighting it I went into the stock recovery and did a factory data reset and that fixed it.

are you trying to flash a ATT stock rom to your Verizon Phone??
Thanks for the replies. I have stock BL and I've tried the reset there and it hasn't helped.
I have a Verizon S5 and am using Verizon stock firmware. Looks like I accidentally posted this in the ATT S5 general section. Sorry...

Good evening,
First time poster long time reader/browser. Before posting this message I have read all other posts/threads in an attempt to fix this issue. Long story short I busted my old Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge SM-G925A AT&T and bought this one used online. The seller never mentioned it was bricked as all pictures posted of it showed it operating and at least booting up. When I received phone I turned it on and it is stuck in a boot loop. I have tried to boot in recovery mode by pressing VOL UP+HOME+POWER button and it does nothing. I am only able to boot into download mode. I have attempted to flash multiple stock firmwares which 3 have been successful and passed in ODIN, however once they pass and the phone reboots it is still stuck in a boot loop. I have been successful in flashing the below firmwares. I do not know anything about the phone besides the IMEI number, S/N, SKU and manufactured date. I do not know what firmware was on the phone originally and do not know what was flashed on phone when I received it (I'm assuming phone was flashed or rooted before due to the above stating SYSTEM STATUS: CUSTOM) Am I stuck with a bricked phone? I've attempted flashes with PIT Files, w/o PIT FILES, with just the AP file, with all 4 BL, AP, CP and CSC files and each time it gets in a bootloop. Can someone please assist me? I've read that sometimes all is needed is to wipe the cache in recovery mode and that would clear bootloop, but I cannot get into recovery mode. Any suggestions. Again, below are what I've flashed successfully but continues to bootloop. Thank you all in advance.
G925AUCS5DPJ1--SUCCESSFUL ODIN FLASH-STILL BOOTLOOP
G925AUCU3BO12--SUCCESSFUL ODIN FLASH-STILL BOOTLOOP
G925AATT3BOJ7--SUCCESSFUL ODIN FLASH-STILL BOOTLOOP
I will say after flashing the DPJ1 files I can no longer flash the BL file for either of the 2 firmwares below it (the AP, CP and CSC files all still flash successful).
I'm just about to give up and shell out the money and buy new phone. Was just hoping someone on here could provide me some advice, some sort of miracle file or a way I can odin flash a tar/md5 file that will wipe my cache/system cache like it would as if you did it in recovery mode.
OH! Also Samsung Smart-Switch will not recognize the phone. I'm able to input the model name and S/N in the emergency software initialization but as soon as I input the S/N and click ok it immediately crashes and closes out Smart-Switch. Thanks Guys!

You need to find a Marshmallow odin file. The phone has most like;y already been updated to Marshmallow in the past. Once on MM, you cant go back to Lollipop which is what those 3 files you listed are.
Edit, NM....that PJ1 file is marshmallow. Try taking it to Best Buy and having them reflash it with the latest MM file.
Thank you, I will try that. I have tried taking to AT&T but they wouldn't help at all. They said since I'm not AT&T customer then I'd have to go thru Samsung. I'm aggravated. I've been working on this off and on for 3 months now. Thanks again for the reply. I've read a lot of people saying after wiping cache partition and rebooting it fixed bootloop after successful flash.
You said I could go back to Lollipop. If I use anything other than the 3 files I listed Odin will fail with various,
Secure Check fail message. Do you know if anyone has created a Odin file that will successfully wipe the cache partition like it would via system recovery?
Thanks again for the reply.
Any updates on this ? I'm having the same issue with my G925I.
why don't you try to flash the DPK5 update from ODIN in the nougat update thread. that's the latest ODIN file I think

No matter what I flash , it's always stuck on the s6 edge logo.. And I can't enter any recovery be it stock or custom recovery. All I can do is enter download mode and flash official ROMs but none seem to work.
Thats some unfortunate situation. I don't know what to do. If official roms don't boot then it's permanent brick I think. Any senior devs know what to do?

I am suffering from the similar fate,, its a friend mobile whose stuck on Samsung logo, he tried to fix it with Kies and Smart Switch and it did not workout for him.
The phone does not boot into recovery. I tried flashing G925AUCU1AOCE and G925AUCU3BOJ7 stock firmwares but no luck.
I successfully flashed G925AUCU6EQCF but it is still stuck on Samsung Logo
Any help or suggestion would be welcome
edit 3rd: Ok now I have managed to flash G925AUCS5DPJ1, still it won't boot into recovery and it is looping to Samsung logo
Same for me ... The recovery is not accessible and the phone reboots in a loop, Smart Switch tell me that the S / N does not match the phone model ...
