I have my AT&T Samsung GALAXY S6 and I want to use my hotspot but since I have their unlimited plan (eligible because I have u-verse as well) they've blocked me from using it. I know there's bypasses but I can't find an up to date and accurate bypass. Doeso anyone know of a bypass to make my phone a hotspot without root or voiding my warranty? If anyone also knows about rooting AT&T S5, let me know. Thanks. My kik is infinitecruiser

I'm thinking about getting the Galaxy S4 Active soon. I have a question about unlocking to use a carrier like Tmobile to Straighttalk. If I buy the GS4 for 200 dollars at Best Buy. Can I use the Wifi right away or is there a way to bypass it telling me to go to a Tmobile store to be able to use it or whatever happens and use Wifi to unlock the phone?
So, i've been reading through threads on this site as well as others. It seems all hope is lost when it comes to rooting my S5 with 5.0.....either if its KNOX or something else....is there a way to root if we aren't worried about tripping KNOX? and from what I have read we can't roll back to a previous version via Odin? Just checking to see if I need to give up and trade this phone for another one. Any leads or responses appreciated.
There is absolutely no way to root in any way, shape, or form once you're on 5.0 and there is very little chance there will ever be.
I sold mime and bought the tmobile s5. If you get a unlocked one you can put your at&t sim card in it and it can be rooted I did mine

I bought a Verizon Galaxy S6 Edge few months ago. Now I moved to T-Mobile. I am using the phone right now without any issues.
There is still Verizon crap on it that I cannot uninstall. Is it possible to install stock or preferably, T-Mobile firmware on this device?
I'll just keep it short and sweet. Practically speaking, no.
Better explanation please
The phones are identical except the firmware. Why would it not work? I would like to do the same so I can access better reception and wifi calling. There's literally nothing different Hardware wise between the diff carrier versions other than what each carrier unlocks or blocks. Can someone give a more detailed reason why it won't work?
This is a great question.... I'd like to know the same, BUT, for me, Tmobile charges too much for single service here in Colorado.
What about just bypass frp?
As far as I'm aware I believe the Note 5, based on the Exynos7420 uses a different modem chip in each carrier. Originally I thought the S6 Edge was still a universal World Phone. But even rooted, some people have still had problems actually migrating from Verizon to T-Mobile.
I've had a tester somehow manage to install a TMobile modem on an AT&T Note5, but it messed up the Device Root Key. Which I do believe is the "hardware baked" signature used to decrypt firmware.

Look at the instructions posted here to remove bloatware. I believe if you substitute the correct counterpart firmware the process is still doable. There is also the De-Bloater v3.90 app that should work as well.

I'm new so I can't post links but the first one is on a website called Android geeks and I found it after searching att s6 edge root. The other one is on a website called tech chomps. Hopefully they can be found...
Found some website claiming to have hacked kernels capable of root in my annual scouring of the web praying that I can regain control of my phone...should I have hope in this?
Just thought id share my finding here, for anyone passing by please exercise caution when browsing these sites, I know nothing about them and just found them. I am hoping someone on here can drop in about the legitimacy of these sites before I test them.
I haven't heard of those but am doubtful there is root unless it's for devices that are on old software. I just got an s6 edge thats on 6.0.1, no root.
If you want root, don't buy ATT devices. Most T-Mobile devices work on ATT network (with LTE and all), and have unlocked bootloaders allowing root. That is my understanding at least and my experience with the Note 4.

Will a root ever be possible? I'm new to this and is there no chance that I will be able to root my 6.0.1 att s6 edge?

To be honest, I don't know, but I would say odds are better that you wont get root than that you will.
Is anyone on the unlocked Note 9 still on VZW's old gUDP plan? Some of us bought this phone to continue to use hotspot/tethering without a subscription check. So far those who have taken the OTA updates haven't had this "feature" break. However, on another site someone reported the OTA update to their unlocked Note 9 DID break the hotspot check. I'm not sure if this was an anomaly--it's hard to confirm because I don't think there are too many people on an unlocked Note 9 still rocking their old VZW gUDP plan.
Anyone out there with an unlocked Note 9 on the old VZW plan who can confirm one way or another if the latest OTA added a hotspot/tethering subscription check?
Any info appreciated.
