I have stock unrooted MM rom on N920G. Despite being unrooted and completely virgin, I am facing deep sleep issues. I have wiped cache, factory reset too. Should I root and go for custom stuff to control the drain?
Maybe a factory reset to begin with. Did you have a package disabler active prior to the update?

No I did not have package disabler. Its a new phone . I have done factory reset already. In the last one hour, I have used screen for 3 minutes but have lost 6% battery. Something must be wrong.
Rebooted recovery and wiped cache as well?

Only other thing I can think of is to flash 5.1.1 via odin and redo the update. Have you tried installing gsam battery monitor and seeing what is draining it? Maybe just an aberrant app that isn't optimised for marshmallow.

Havent tried GSam yet. Let me try that. I thought deep sleep issues are only on knox tripped devices. Mine is a virgin device. I hope I dont have to root to fix this. Dont want to trip knox.
May be somethings preventing it from going into deep sleep. Gsam will give you a good idea of the battery leaching apps.

Battery getting slammed badly during idle time. Left it overnight at 40%. In about 6 hours when I woke up, the phone had turned off. The phone was of course idle all these 6 hours. Have tried factory reset twice. Knox not tripped. GSam monitor pointing towards android system as the culprit.
Hey Guy,
please try to flash another Kernel. I used to have problem I have solved my problem as the following link below

Thanks, but this will trip Knox. I was hoping to find a solution keeping Knox intact.

Same with me. My Knox is not triggered, and still have around 11h from 100% to almost 0. I'm using stock FM I've tried to reset, factory reboot.. still it's working time it's not acceptable. My S5 was alive almost two times longer...

I have been experiencing a rather annoying bug on my S6. After unlocking the screen, sometimes the status bar will not pull down. This happens about 1/5 unlocks. I have to lock the screen again and then unlock for it to work again. Since the status bar is usually the first thing I use after unlocking, this becomes a real pain. I was hoping that the recent update would fix this, but it's still happening.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue? I couldn't find anything on the forums or Google.

Could you please provide additional information about your phone, such as the Base and or ROM?
Maybe try going into Recovery mode and clearing cache, that may resolve it.

There is the issue right there, your base needs to be G920AUCU1AOE2, your on the older firmware but using the newer ROM. Use Odin to return to stock G920AUCU1AOCE, then do the OTA update from AT&T again. FYI The new PingPong Root still works on the new OTA, if you decide to go that route.

That doesn't explain why it was happening when I was on the version that it shipped with. They matched at that point. Good suggestion though.

I just updated the baseband to match the software. I'll report back after I use it a bit to see if it happens again. It just happened after I posted that. Ugh x.x
Looks like I'm going to have to factory reset. I was hoping more people would at least vote on the poll -.-
Wireless charging possible cause
It seems like this issue only happens if you use wireless charging. I did a factory reset on the phone and used it for a couple weeks with AC charging and I did not have this issue. As soon as I tried wireless charging again, the issue came right back.

I strictly use wireless charging, so your blanket statement only applies to you. Never had an issue with three different charging pads.

So 5.1.1 for the att Samsung galaxy s6 has finally been released! Now I do hope the memory leak issue will get addressed in this build, but I am wondering if we should avoid updating to it if we are rooted? I wonder how long it will take for our custom roms to update to this.
http://www.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-s6-s6-edge-received-android-511-update-att
Well I hope someone puts up a .tar file for us to flash this instead of relying on the OTA. I jut do not like OTA updates. Something always seems to go wrong
Never had a issue when plugged in with wifi. Never DL walking around and still using phone. That is why everyone has a problem. Not sure if your case but throwing it out there.

Hope that the update comes out for s6 active soon and someone provide with a .tar file flashing with Odin
Been trying to update my wife's phone since last night and everytime it says that the update failed. I have tried 3 times and no luck.
Enable all the apps you previously disabled. Set the time forward and try again.

Settings -> Applications -> Disabled
Installing now - let's see how bad AT&T cocked up the update.
I have no apps disabled, non rooted, and still am getting install failed.
I did uninstall some apps when I first got the phone. Could that be causing the failed update?
Successfully updated to 5.1.1.. Seems a bit smoother but other than that, nothing big..checked if they added any sort of shutter control..nope

Has anyone tried to run older root methods yet to see if anything works? Sometimes with new OTAs, previous exploits are overlooked.

I think Ive seen it somewhere but cant seem to find it. Is there a wayto unroot or flash din files to take the 5.1.1 update. I am currently rooted and used flash fire to get to OF3. Can I just odin the oe2 files and take the update?
Does it have better performance than one of those ultra lite rom's? I am considering of getting off of my custom rom so I can take this update.

The release notes just said various bug fixes.
But don't do it, it locks the BL and you cannot downgrade. The Root method for 5.1.1 was patched, and there is a problem with battery drain from the system keeping wifi active. ( I already went through everything to disabling wifi scanning, smart switch, Volte, etc. ) And it's still present.
The battery drain isn't as bad as it used to be, I am losing something like 3-5 percent per hour. With everything disabled that can be being un rooted.

What in the world are you talking about?
Ha sorry about that.
So I flashed this, not really thinking. My own fault for not thinking.
1. This has a bootloader that prevents downgrading.
2. And my battery now showing high WiFi active usage.
Also it's saying my screen is being used when its off.
Ive got WiFi scanning , volte and the common things discussed on here that would drain the battery. All of it is disabled.
3. I know the 5.1.1 root method didn't work because I can't overwrite the BL.
So after flashing this, Im losing 3-4 percent an hour with screen off. When I used to see especially on your rom I would loose like 1percent /h.
Tried going into development settings, checking oem unlock. Then flashing twrp and a custom kernel?

You been told lies. No issues when you root. It's when you don't know what you're doing when you decide to remove system apps you don't use
You must of miss read alot.....
Rooting you will loose:
Google Movies
New Google Pay
Some loss Netflix, depending on if you change your build.prop.
Do not flash this if your phone is rooted and working. This locks bootloader and odin fails to flash previous firmware. Also mobile data is throttled to 64kbp. Not faster or slower. Massive heating issues as well.

I'm confused, I'm on COF8, rooted and using Xtresolite v2.3...should I not flash this new modem or not?
Do not flash this firmware. Stay on last stock img if your phone is working fully.
Let me clarify some shiz here........
There is NOTHING wrong with this firmware.
It DOES NOT lock down the bootloader.
It DOES Not cause your phone to get hot.
So stop with the shiz you are saying before you have people freaking out over nothing.........

My wife and I both have H811 G4s. I've gone through and rooted both of our phones with Low Effort, flashed twrp, debloated, updated to 10n debloated. Everything has been great until last week. My wifes phone started randomly rebooting. It's actually random. I can't find anything consistent. I removed apps with updates, factory reset and it would reboot during the setup wizard. Yesterday I did a full return to stock 10n, and it behaved all day.
Today I try to root with the 10n debloat , and now it's rebooting again. I have a hard time thinking it's bad hardware as the full stock works fine, and with it not rebooting on stock how would I prove it for the replacement?
What else can I check or do to fix this, and why is it only happening to one of the phones?
Bad download.

Good idea, but I've used the same file on multiple phones without issue. It's only the one device having problems. Also the md5 matches, just double checked.
As I work my way backwards I'm pretty sure this it turning into failed hardware. I've had it reboot a few times on stock during the setup wizard. But it's nowhere as frequent as the rooted roms.
Hi
I have an 920i Note 5. My usb is broken so I can't connect to the pc. I noticed that my phone never goes deep sleep. Always cpu sets in 400mhz. So, I tried to deactivate Google Account Sync, and some packages using the Package Disabler. The problem is that I cant fix it. Tried to clear cache, format data, etc. But the deep sleep never fixes. It uses more battery when it is with the screen turned off, that in the inverse way.
Somebody can give me any hint?
Thanks!

Have you rooted your device or Running stock from beginning? If your device is rooted already i.e to flash custom roms or kernels etc and now you have reverted back to stock thats why facing deep sleep issue theb here is solution by dr.ketan
**Your device must be rooted to use this deep sleep fix patch comes as .apk, it will not work on stock firmware without root as it needs supersu root access**

You have to root your device again and apply deep sleep fix if you want to overcome that issue..And original usb of Samsung is not that much expensive i.e you can't afford it..If your phone's usb port is broken then it might be costly..By the way once you rooted ypur device, knox get tripped and you will face huge battery drain after reverting back to stock..So the solution i have provided already..Refer suggested thread and you will come to know everything regarding rooting, deep slip..

Right, that's the problem. My USB port is broken. I have already bought the spare part, but it will take one month or more to arrive. Just my phone and Wi-Fi adb or something?
