I just installed via fastboot (mi pc suite) the last stable rom (chinese), so everything should be ok to flash via twrp (last version) the xiaomi.eu version, that includes gapps and removes chinese bloatware.
I've been trying for the last weeks, first I tried to flash the daily dev rom, then the stable (kk) and now I'm trying to flash the new mm rom but I keep getting this errors (from the twrp log):
replace /file_contexts with file_contexts in package: No such file or directory
mount: failed to mount /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/userdata at /data: Device or resource busy

The last flash try gave me those errors but it actually flashed the rom, there was no initial configuration, with a lot of google play crashes. I'd like to clean flash the xiaomi.eu room. What is the proper way for this?
Thanks!
for miui roms always use CWM recovery.

I connected the phone in fastboot mode and selected dev room in the mi pc suite application. I tried to install the latest xiaomi.eu dev version but it keept giving me those errors so after I messed with the partitions (format, delete them, etc) I went again to the mipcsuite and flashed the latest stable because I saw it was MM too. Once the partitions and everything went stock (again), I tried the latest xiaomi.eu stable but nothing.
I just remembered that I successfully flashed the xiaomi.eu stable via the stock recovery... Somehow I knew it was gonna work and it did (despite in the forum they say you have to use a custom recovery...). All this stuff doesn't make any sense
I still have it installed, the version 7.2.11.0 Stable (Android 6.0.1 MMB29M). So the solution is to use the stock recovery.
I also had problem installing last xiaomi.eu kk rom (7.1.5.0) with twrp, always error 7...I think because this build has merged parttion. Now you flashed a MM rom via fastboot (so your partitions had been automatically merged) and you should be able to install other xiaomi.eu rom with twrp...

Hey my dude follow these steps, in twrp select wipe->format data (You'll lose all your files) now try flash the rom, you should find a custom kernel for your device as well and install it after the rom. If the Kernel doesnt install magisk now would be a good time to do it :highfive:

This isn't necessary. Just extract boot.img from whatever rom.zip you're using, flash that in recovery, reboot to recovery again and magisk should install.

3.2.2 worked for me.
In my case unmounting all the partitions fixed it for me, the boot.img method didn't work.

I was having the same issue... After hours of research I finely managed to fix it. Try the following:
1 - Install TWRP (I also had the 3.5.0_9 version).
2 - Format data and wipe all the advanced options possible.
3 - Download the program "payload_dumper-win64".
3.1 - Following the payload dumper instructions, I've copied the payload.bin from my custom ROM to the payload_input folder.
3.2 - Execute payload_dumper.exe and wait, a lot!
3.3 - Copy the resulted files (boot.img, system.img, vendor.img) in to the phone.
4 - In TWRP, go to install, select from images, and, one by one, install the images you've just copied.
4.1 - Note that during the install process, you will have to select the correct "slots" to flash the images. In my case, there where to options for system and vendor. I've chosen the "System Image" and "Vendor Image" option.
5 - Restart.
That's it! I didn't had to change slots nor wipe data after the installation... I don't know if this was the correct approach, but after many tries this is what worked for me
Sorry about my bad english...
Sometimes it is caused due to corrupted file. While transferring file through MTP it is likely to corrupt large files. I had the same problem. Then I tried copying file while in TWRP (sure it is also MTP) and it worked.

It's legit procedure. Also you don't need to manage slots here, caz recovery automatically does that for you.
Hello guys, i'm from Russia, sorry for my bad English. I using Poco X3 Pro, and i have some troubles. I wanted to install custom firmware. First ROM
delivered successfully, unlike the second. After clearing all sections except sd cart and otg, I tried to install the original MIUI build, but it didn't work. I downloaded the original MIUI, but still. When installing, it says: "Update process ended with ERROR: 1" The methods from the top didn't help, please help!

Hello, last night I have unlocked the bootloader flashed twrp -0 official build and magisk it was all good and was working then i wanted to install the last eu beta and flashed but flashing it always corrupting the file system, to solve it I have flashed stock rom via fastboot
Problem here I do not wipe /system directory but whenever I try to flash a custom rom the file system directory is corrupting and consequently the device is stucking on twrp. Is there an idea?

1. It must to be in QUESTIONS & ANSWERS and not in GUIDES, NEWS, & DISCUSSION.
2. What exactly corrupted? There is system partition which is not file system And there is a data partition which you can call a file system
3. If the problem was in system partition you would be stuck in fastboot.
4. What steps did you make after flashing stock rom via fastboot?
For flashing eu beta ROM after flashing stock rom via fastboot, the steps are:
1. FORMAT (not wipe) data.
2.Wipe cache/dalvik cache (don't wipe system or flash a ROM without reboot).
3.Flash eu ROM.
You can try another TWRP for example: https://forum.xda-developers.com/Mi-9/development/recovery-unofficial-twrp-xiaomi-mi-9-t3905825 , official TWRP is based on it or from Chines team: http://files.mi-room.ru/files/twrp/cepheus/3.3.1-1030/recovery.img . Both very good.

Update: after format, it stucks on twrp(directories are not encrypted), and rom is not flashing at all I mean it is not writing to /sdcard (loading screen says it successfully flashed but not in the reality )and there are only 'obb' and 'TWRP' directories in the /sdcard also the twrp version is not even change by fastboot or flashing img after a reboot it recovers itself to build -0
I will try it with the Chinese teams's twrp build for this time
Solved with another twrp version
Hi , guys.
I have bricked my real x2 pro (CN version).
I tryed to restore several ways (MSMDOWNLOAD, QPST, QFiL) , but none of them leaded me success.
The frail possibility is It still works in TWRP mode.
So maybe it is impudent favor to ask you,
Can someone give me the clean backup of its system etc. of TWRP ?
It seems to me the final way to resolve this problem.:crying:
You try this, install twrp-3.3.1-12-RMX1931-mauronofrio.img , flash official ozip file with this version twrp, then fastboot official recovery.img, clear data under official recovery. this work for me. but I lost modemst1 modemst2 fsg persist partition( bakcup and restore with Chinese version twrp 3.3.1-1107 zwsx), and brick my x2 pro too.
Thank you, friend !
The official .ozip is chinese version ?
I could'nt find one than for RMX1931EX.
I already tried to flash it from TWRP.
But it is for RMX1931EX not for RMX1931 (installer showed me just 1931, no EX nor CN), so I could'nt.

I tried to flash CN rom from TWRP.
Not successed.
flash the ozip
failed saying ,For RMX1931CN not for RMX1931.
TWRP version is twrp-3.3.1-12-RMX1931-mauronofrio.
I'm sure my phone is CN version.
I just want clean backup file of system by TWRP...
Try changing file system in advanced wipe from ext 4 > ext 2 then back to ext 4 before flashing CN ozip.

Hi,
Now I dont know how to overwrite recovery image from PC.
The phone doesnt be accessed in debugging mode.
Just external memory of PC.
And my phone wakes only in TWRP.
So for flashing, I send files from PC to twrp folder of my phone.
This is why I begged for the backup of system by TWRP.
Dude if you would follow my unbrick guide your phone would work

I Went totally nuts last night when i bricked my phone so i did figure out my self how to unblock the phone.
First you need to BE ABLE TO ENTER FASTBOOT it won't work without it and you need working TWRP.
First you need to go to TWRP and go to mount and unmount everything and disable MTP.
Then go to Advanced and select Terminal
type in LS make sure there is 2 Folders one called system and one called system_root
make sure that the system folder is empty if empty type in rm -r system
and rename the system_root folder to system using mv system_root system
after that boot into Fastboot mode and Flash your Rom for your Device using the Fastboot Tool
Hope that works for you guys.

need more info.
You installed Twrp I assume over the stock rom?
if so boot into TWRP and format user data. ( note this wipe completely erase the phone. but you have no choice it must be done. if you have files that you want on the phone, see you can access them via Windows explorer and copy them over to your desktop.
Basic Instructions
FORMAT /data partition (Important Never Ever Wipe System Or Persist!)
Copy our ROM to the internal storage or use external USB drive ( must choose which device to install from in twrp)
Install ROM, and anything else depending on rom if needed such as gapps
Reboot to recovery
Reboot to system and setup

I believe that @Agimax has a flashable mod on his stable page for changing regions, that seems to be a bug with the latest stable version.
Check here, and maybe tried pinging Agimax, if you need assistance.

Another option is flashing the latest Xiaomi.EU, which has every available feature some of which have not yet found their way to the stable build.
For the download links check Option 2

Hello, I was tinkering for a few days to actually use lineage os in my device. I've flash multiple TWRP across these two days from xda forums, TWRP and PBRP works fine, what bothers me is everytime I install custom rom, when I reboot the system, it will go to fastboot after showing redmi logo with unlocked bootloader. I don't seem to know what's the case, but if I flash MIUI, it will work, not with other roms.
These what I've done:
Download Rom
TWRP (already installed) & vbmeta ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...omi-redmi-note-9-xiaomi-redmi-10x-4g.4218909/ )
Reboot to recovery
Wipe DATA (the right button in TWRP)
Reboot to recovery again
adb push file or copy rom zip to /sdcard or internal storage
Install Rom
Wipe data and not wipe data already tested with no avail
Reboot to system
My problem is, is it really possible to install lineageos? I've tried to install lineageos17 which is fail with logs arround the line of Error 7, and then /product (no such file is found) or something like that. My device is Redmi Note 9 Helio G85, is it not compatible? or should I try using GSI treble rom?
I've also tried to downgrade to MIUI 12.0.3.0 from 12.0.6.0, I downloaded 12.0.1.0, but haven't tried it yet.
Any help is appreciated, my pc is linux based, so if possible without much tinkering to move to windows. Thank you.
