Hi There,
I am using Samsung Galaxy S5 G900A for quite some time now. I have Windows 10 on my laptop. I have tried to connect my phone with the laptop to transfer data but after trying a lot of tricks, I'm still unable to connect phone. Although windows play sound of USB connection but nothing happens afterwards.
Neither laptop nor phone show any response. Only charging starts on the phone. Any one had idea what to do??
Did you install the drivers? Search sammobile.

Hi,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S on the O2 network in the UK.
Before registering here I have tried my best to sort this myself but I really do need some expert advice now. Please!!
I have tried and tried to update the KIES software but no matter what my PC will not connect to the phone it just says 'connecting' and hangs on that
I've tried on an XP machine and a Windows 7 machine and neither work
I'm currently on software 2.1 and would like to update to 2.2
Are there known problems with connecting the phone to a PC?
I've even tried connecting it so the PC would just view it as an external hard drive but again it doesn't connect and the PC does not recognise the phone.
I can't transfer any music or videos to the phone at the moment obviously and that's what I'm hoping to achieve with some kind help off here. I'd also like flash player which I believe is part of the 2.2 update?
Thanks in advance

Hi
I take it you have an external micro sd card in the phone? Mine wont connect without.
If you do, you should check whether the drivers are ok by connecting via USB. Goto settings, "Wireless and Network", select usb settings and click "ask on connection". Reconnect the usb and the phone should ask you what connection you want, click mass storage.
If that fails, probably a driver issue. Uninstall Kies and samsung drivers and reinstall the latest version of Kies (google Kies)
Thanks for all the suggestions, I'll do what was advised and report back
I'm assuming once this phone is updated it's a dream to use!
Cheers
I personally find it's a dream to use if you're using the modded roms..
That does kinda void your warranty though
Just a few tips which entered my mind:
- older versions of Kies do not connect if you changed the launcher on your phone from touchwiz to something else (i.e. Launcherpro or Zeam)
- it's strange it doesn't even connect in storage mode. How are your usb settings (Settings, Wireless & Networks, USB Settings), is it set to Kies or "Ask". When set to Ask or Storage Mode, you still should pull down the notification bar when connecting to make a choice.
- does the pc bleep to indicate it at least senses a device attached? Have you tried different USB ports?
Hi everybody, my problem is simple and dumb... i bought a Gtab 8.9 for Christmas, it's working fine and i'm very satisfied, but i'm stuck with the default firmware, honeycomb 3.1, and sometimes it kinda freezes, and i wanted to try a newer, 3.2 or maybe ICS firmware... and before flashing some mod i would like to see if there's any available from kies... well, it's been more than a month and i can't seem to be able to properly connect it to my pc/laptop with kies and the usb cable... i tried re-installing several times kies, did the connection error/unplug/uninstall drivers/reinstall driver stuff countless times on both desktop and laptop, but kies always ends up saying "device error-unplug" or "device error-reboot"... kies wireless works fine but i can't search for new firmwares, the cable works fine and i can charge and/or transfer files in a breeze... i looked for some usb settings on the tab but found nothing... what am i missing? every time i plug the tab it goes straight on autoplay, and kies won't recognize it... if i turn it off and plug it kies doesn't find it either, nothing changes.... can anyone help?

I don't remember too well, but have you checked the USB settings at the (I think) Applications section at Settings? Anyways, Kies...well, I don't expect too much from it reliability-wise. Sometimes it bricks tabs when updating (already happened in this forum). If it still doesn't work, hey, see it as a good sign. Something preventing you dealing with that thing!
Hi,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900A from AT&T. For some reason, the device does not charge, neither does the computer recognise it is connected for data transfer. At first, i thought it might have been the port, so i tried another port flex from a similar device which works fine. However, when i changed the flex, the issue still existed. I just thought of trying download mode to see if re-installing the OS will work. The computer did recognise the device as soon as it was connected in download mode. I was able to do the install, but the problem still exists. A friend of mine has an HDMI cable to connect his phone to the TV, so i decided "hey, lemme try it" and surprisingly, IT WORKED. The tv was able to read the phone and everything displayed fine on the TV. However, the cable also has a charge function which did not charge my phone. So i am stuck with usinging an external battery charger for my device. Has anyone encountered this issue with the S5 or any other Galaxy phone? Any solution ideas?

No progress for the query has been made so far
I tried searching the forum and found no comments on sidesync so here is my problem:
What I am using:
Sidesync 4.0 installed on a windows 7 x64 PC
Galaxy Note 5 (Verizon) running 5.1.1 (Stock of course :/ )
SideSync 4.0.9.9 App on the phone from samsung store
I was able to successfully connect to my home PC over WiFi network so I know the phone software will do it.
When I try to connect wirelessly at work I can't use WiFi because the desktop PC is wired and the phone is wireless. I understand this and that is not the issue.
I am connected the phone via USB directly to the computers USB port and SideSync is not finding it. I log on to my PC with an unprivileged account so when I launch sidesync it wants admin credentials which I provide. Once launched it will not find the phone.
Anyone have any thoughts?
When I connected mine for the first time this morning it had to install a driver before I plugged in the phone. Did it prompt you to unplug and install the driver? Seems to work great but if I bring up the phone screen on the PC it cuts out my headphone audio that I am listening to through the phone, not sure if it is trying to play through my PC I'll have to play around with it.
Hi, Did you get answer to your query? I am facing the same problem

I had this issue when I got my S8 so I reinstalled the drivers and it started working again, Yay
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Samsung\SideSync4\USB Driver"
Hi I'm wondering if anybody is able to help.
I have a Note 8 and would like to connect it to my 2017 iMac running High Sierra. When I plug my Note 8 in it automatically launches Android file transfer and file transfer usb mode on the phone but I get "Could not connect to device, Try reconnecting or restarting your device". The phone is in the correct mode and knows it's connected to a Mac as it advises I download AFT or Samsung Switch.
The Note connects to a older 2009 MacBook without a glitch and the only difference being I get a Allow prompt every time it connects to the MacBook and not the iMac. (This seems to be the issue not having an allow prompt)
I have reinstalled AFT and are using the supplied USB C cable.
I previously owned a Nexus 6 which connect to the iMac with out issue.
I have just tried a Galaxy Xcover 3 and same issue so it seems to be a Samsung related problem
Many Thanks
