Bricked after flashing something - Galaxy S Advance I9070 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This stupid device does not want to boot to download or recovery mode. Also it does not boot normally, it just stucks at "Samsung Galaxy S Advance GT-I9070" screen (you know).

[HELP] Briked phone

Hi Guys!
Yesterday I change the Sim Card on my phone. I power off it normaly and change the SIM. When I try to boot the phone again this didn't boot.
My case is the same as in this video, but I did not try to flash the device before (In the explanation of the video, the user says that he tried to flash a custom rom, In my case it was the original rom)
I had to attach a txt with link to Youtube (sorry)
I try to Flash with Odin. Apparently Odin flash the device correctly (with de original firm). But the result is the same, don't boot.
Anyone else did the same?
Is the display turning on?
If yes, where does it hang?
If no, it's a hardbrick and your ace is dead.

Yes, the display turn on (same as you watch in the end on the vídeo); the device turn on the screen and then turn off (< 1 sec) and don't shown nothing (No Samung Logo or Galaxy ACE...) . But the phone boot in "downloading ..." mode and "RAMDUMP" mode.
Thanks for your reply :good:

Do you reach revovery? Home+power button. If yes, do a factory reset, and reboot. It should work.
If this doesen't help try flashing this firmware with odin XWKB7. It's 2.2.1 Froyo (4 files and multi-CSC, how to: http://droidangel.blogspot.hu/2011/05/samsung-galaxy-ace-s5830-original-stock.html), and after that flash a 2.3.6 firmware.

No, the phone don't boot in recovery.
I like to try the first firmware in the first link (to hotfile) but it's down. Can you send me in a PM? Thanks!

I'm working right now, so I can not open a lot of sites. Use google, search for XWKB7. I guess, you will find a working link.

Yes, sorry I use google and I find them. And I flashed with Odin and he situation did not change. The phone don't boot. .
Tanks for your Replies!
i think as per your comments....your phone's hardware is damaged internally...as you have no try to flash a rom...how is it possible ? to brick a phone ? go to samsung service center and get it repaired...

Yeah, maybe that's the right way. Bring it to the service, but do not tell them anything about odin and firmwares, even about sim card. Just tell them that you used the phone it suddenly stop responding than turn itself off, and since than you cannot turn it on... Or something like that.
Thanks guys!
This afternoon I will send the phone to Samsung to give me budget...
Thanks for your replies!

[Q] Bricked Phone?

Hi all. I have a problem with an S5830 which was on 2.3.6 Stock+Root. It was network locked (even if with the code to check it said every lock was off), so I tried the factory reset solution listed here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9006090&postcount=1 using the code *2767*3855#. After the reboot my phone got stuck in a bootloop. I tried flashing with Odin many different fw, with and without data.rfs just to be sure it wasn't corrupted, but my phone just keep looping after the samsung logo.
Is there an easy way to fix it?
Thanks
Just in case it can be useful, more details:
1) After the Odin autoreboot it keeps lopping without even displaying the samsung logo (display just go on and off), but if i remove/insert battery and turn it on it loops after the samsung logo.
2) Download mode, Special download, and Ramdump mode works, but Recovery mode don't.

For Recovery mode: did you tried when you release "Power" button, button "Vol Up" hold longer (when you see Samsung logo then release "Vol Up" button)?

The recovery mode in S5830 is only Home+Power, Home+Power+VolUP is RamDump mode.

Go to www.themythace.com/flash-stock-rom.html & follow the steps. After flashing, odin shows, closing serial port & rebooting device or something like that. Wait until pass appears. This time your device ends up in a boot loop. Now, take off battery & go back to downloading mode & reflash via odin. This time your device might boot. Atleast for me it did...
I never had a head ache & some one recommended me rooting !!!
Hmmm I'm afraid yours is bricked, though not unfixable.
When in odin did you use the right .ops file ?
Also, which recovery were you using ?
It is possible that your partitions are corrupted.

I used the correct Cooperv1 ops (I had flashed with it other times when I was trying custom roms). I was using CWM as recovery. Also I tought about the partition getting corrupted, that's why I downloaded an old stock rom with all the filesystem .rfs files (including data) to recreate them, but still it didn't work. At this point my only guess is that efs got corrupted in some way (I even have a backup of it but dunno how to restore it, did it with the "cat xxx > /file" procedure while tring to get the network unlock code).
When you say it's not unfixable, what you mean exactly? Anything that I can do at home without sending it to Samsung?
Thanks for your time.
Hmmm. I suspect your guess is right, perhaps someone else may know how to restore it.
I had to send mine to Samsung, and although they said they gave me a new motherboard I suspect they simply used jtag.

You can try searching about jtag & oneclickunbrick on google or on xda. Not sure what the processes involve but they help booting into downloading mode if you weren't able to before. But did you try what I suggested before ??
I used to have beautiful life before. Now I'm in engineering...!

Oh then it wouldn't help. I can boot in download mode, but flashing a stock rom didn't fix it. I tried several times.
Put it in download mode again and flash again or try a different rom. If you have download mode it isn't bricked its fixable from home

I tried many times, with different roms, one package and not. Nothing fixed it. If it's the efs corrupted I think there is nothing you can do, even if I can go in download mode.
I think there is a way to flash cwm recovery via Odin you could try that, it could fix it but I'm not to sure but it's always worth ago
And when using Odin you just need ops file checked and one package checked and untick the first box were the three boxes are

Device is stuck on logo screen and does not boot into CWM nor download mode

Hi folks, First of all I would like to note that I have not found similar threads to the specific problem I have encountered. and now to the problem itself: A few hours ago i tried to Root my device, and after I flashed the appropriate file using the stock CWM the device tried to restart but then he just hangs on the screen with the samsung logo of the device and not turn on. Furthermore I cannot get to CWM or download mode by the combination of the buttons. Any kind of help would be really appreciated as this is very urgent because I use this phone on a daily basis. thanks in advance.
Edit: I tried to remove and insert the battery several times but it did not help and stuck on the samsung boot logo again.
P.S. Sorry for the various spelling mistakes that I might have.

Seems like a brick if you cannot enter download mode. Can you list the exact steps you carried out? Which ROM were you earlier on etc...

I am currently running a previous version of this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1970626
I was trying to root my device via this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2217840
(method 2) and downloaded the XXLSZ .zip file and flashed it through the stock recovery. These are all the steps that I did, I guess.
Are you serious? no download mode? that's terrible.
adb works from recovery but i don't know what you can do with that alone.

I'd say your battery is dead.
Try another one.
