lags while switching between apps - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Helloo guys, my 2nd gen moto is working great everything is smooth as butter but recently while switching between apps the SCREEN becomes white and it takes a lag of 2secs or so, but sometimes there is no lags. My phone is rooted though i have not installed any custom ROM and I use very limited apps. Xposed installer with basic apps like gravity box, xui mod, LMT and no heavy apps.. Apart from switching apps or going back to home screen evrything is just perfect.
p.s: I wipe partition cache evry 3weeks or so..
Need solution guys...Help
thanks in advance

First impressions of LP
Last night I flashed US c5502 fw on my phone.
The first boot took longer than expected and phone got very hot. I could no hold it in hand.
So I kept it as it is without going through initial setup. Phone battery was 49%
Today morning when I checked the battery was at 49% ( surprised and shocked )
I did the setup and started discovering the LP.
The UI is butter smooth. actually its smoother than KK 4.4.4
All latest apps are there like home, keyboard, etc. US fw has lesser bloats than indian fw so I am thinking to use it for a while.
Disabled unwanted apps which can be disabled. I havent tried rooting yet. Wifi BT Data connection work flawlessly. there is no drop in 3G connectivity which I experienced a lot in 4.4.4
I hope sony will release the update for heating issue once they get all the feedbacks
Xposed works?!

mine was caused by unclean xposed framework left in system, camera is ok now
another impression: takes very long time to build or rebuild dalvik cache

This is because of the new feature present in every Lollipop ROM - Android Runtime (ART), a new method of building app cache. It takes a lot more space to compile, but the user apps are faster, and that's why you guys feel like the ROM is smooth and fast.
Every older version used Dalvik runtime - a slower version than the new one.
i don't like the fact that xperia facebook does not sync contact photos anymore so i am stuck with blurry pictures for my contacts.... otherwise i really like the new email app..

!!!!REQUIRED!!!! L rom for xolo a500s

i have been using my phone for more than 2 years....it didnt show any lag until 6-7 months, after which it took 5-6 sec to open the home screen after pressing home button(in system apps only like camera, settings)after that the lag became intolerable so i rooted my phone using Framaroot and installed booster apps but of no use...then started the main problem of my phone..it occasionally went dead without any reason...i was playing coc and suddenly the whole screen went blank and it started rebooting(wat d hell!!) i made up my mind to installl custom rom but some of my frnz stopped me...i like lollipop very much and im using nova launcher which makes it LOOK like lollipop..
my kind request to u is to plz make a sophisticated, nice, material design, with transparent notification bar and has features like lollipop.
(note: i hate the roms of xperia, xiaomi, gionne, and other phones like that. i only like simple interface WITH MATERIAL DESIGN. it should compatible with my phone, i also have UNOFFICIAL CWM recovery installed:laugh

PIE update - Mate 10 Pro - LIST OF PROBLEMS / ISSUE'S

Like the Subject title reads, can we start a list of all the known errors discovered in the Android Pie update, for the Mate 10 series phones?
:highfive:This will be a great thread to see if it is worth upgrading to Pie, for us still stuck on Oreo.
I have found 2 issues so far
1. recents doesn't play well with 3rd party launchers(workaround is to disable emui launcher trough adb)
2. Navbar has delay for 1 sec after adapting to colour of opened apps when using 3rd party launcher
Had some few glitches like gps icon stayed turned on while nothing was using gps and gpu turbo floating icon stayed on after exiting game.

Apparantly the new Gallery App is also not that great:
"The new photo gallery is a crap ,, whats the point of creating a new allbum called all photos ??
I miss the old one ,,,
And the worst thing is the new signal bars on the left with notifications !! What the heck is huawei thinking ?? We don't have a notch ,, this new emui is bs update"
As mentioned, Nova also buggy:
"So far, nova launcher is buggy, especially animations, and the previously working google cam port stopped working"
&
"Nova working fine here with the exception of recents and gestures. "
And also uses more RAM than on EMUI 8 / Oreo:
"EMUI 9 is soooo ram hungry. Dropping below a gig here from light use and everything is refreshing. "
Well dont know about ram. Its same for me as before
atm while doing nothing its sitting at 3gb just like in oreo.
Only problem I have noticed is that's sometimes apps just went to recent by itself... usually when I'm typing - chatting. But it's overall fast to go back , sometimes it's annoying. For me ram management is ok, just like in oreo. Few graphic glitches here and there.

Navbar is too sensitive. I usually hit Home now when I'm hitting Space.
And/or big thumbs.

Maybe that's the reason, I hope that they will fix it soon :fingers-crossed:
I think in oreo there was like 1 second delay when pressing on screen and then trying to press navbar. it woudnt allow you to do that right away.
I'm getting the strong impression the Pie update, for the Mate 10 series, needs some more fine tuning. Maybe, with some updates it'll get better.
Let's get those bugs listed guys! :highfive:
Don't see a difference with the "super macro" mode in new camera software
MATE 10. The recent apps screen is ****, if you hit the one app that's halfway hidden on the side you just get dumped back to where you were without opening that app.
The camera app in my mate 10 eats up literally 600MB of RAM wtf? Also RAM usage in general is higher almost than EMUI 8 on the Mate 10, where I had 2.2GB free most of the timein 8.0, now the usual is 1.8GB, so that's 400MB more of RAM used for EMUI 9.

Yup, I also had this problem - it does bug me, typing a message and kept clicking home. I changed the nav bar to be hidden and use gestures now (swipe up for home, swipe left / right for back, swipe up and hold for task manager). This works for me!
Couple of other things I've noticed - takes a while to archive a gmail email in the notifications - there's a delay which wasn't there before.
Ran a AnTuTu benchmark - previously it was around 200,000 - its now reporting about 160,000 but apart from the gmail delay (above) the phone still feels snappy! I then saw the performance setting (under battery) and switched this on to re-benchmark - got around 210,000 this time.
I've switched performance mode back off for now.

It should have been obvious I guess! When I switch the performance mode on clearing these notifications is much quicker - this is the only thing I have really noticed in terms of speed with / without performance mode in the first couple of days.

Can you describe what is the problem?
So far it works good on my phone. I have installed MicroG first and then YouTube Vanced. There is additional Google entry in the accounts list for MicroG.
No more force LTE Only option, although you have tweak it before the update using System Editor. Hmmm...

I downloaded from alternative site and it worked w/o issues.

What can we do for a overall stock like experience on the phone

Should I wait for rom support or can anyone help me by suggesting an app to make the phone look like stock android
You'll need to wait for custom support.
The only way to make it the more stock possible is to debloat.

Has been said that next ColorOS will have a more stock look. If you are rooted you should freeze contacts, phone, launcher and messages and use Google apps together with a custom launcher, like Nova. It is only a partial solution.
Or there are some magisk module (pixelify) that can turn interface into Google's one, but I don't if they can work on realme too.

Install Lawnchair 2 from store + pixel bridge, uninstall aps that you can and hide rest of them with Lawnchair settings but keep in mind that those will not change settings in visual neither notification bar (slide down). Also you can hide aps like stock calculator and install Google one, same to clock, phone, messaging etc. With Lawnchair a is ezpz to hide apps and do not care about them and everything without root.

Yesterday evening I have unlocked the BL and rooted my device. After doing it I tried to freeze system apps and install their replacements (messages, contacts, clock and phone replaced with Google apps) and lawnchair and nova.
It surely gives a better experience (more stock) but the battery started to decrease very fast and almost every Google app and launchers appeared in this screen. Now there is only phone, but there where all gapps.
I've never seen any launcher using so much battery life.
P.S. I freezed Google app (highest drain) but custom launcher drain even more than stock one.

But why to use lawnchair + nova ? also hmm i think that some system apps like phone messeges could not be locked just hided. Was your google phone app works normaly with stock phone locked and freezed ? Another thing - I'm running Lawnchair + pixel bridge and every time i enter to battery settings and then optimize system propose to close them so i think that probably stock launcher keeps working in background. My phone is not rooted neither unlocked, but i do not see that much of power loss due use of Lawnchair with pixel bridge. In my use daily usage of power per Lawnchair is 21mAh + google service 38mAh.

I wasn't using Nova and Lawnchair together, but I tried them both separately.
I have always, even in Samsung devices, freezed system app as SMS and phone without problem, and here was the same. But they always were in the battery optimization screen.
One of the reason I rooted the phone was exactly the "double launcher" problem. And freezing stock launcher didn't cause any issue.
To be honest, I don't dislike this stock launcher, but I like pixel icons too much, and with stock launcher can't be changed.
And, no less important, it has too few personalizations.

Hmm strange, I never freezed system aps. In all my phones before when I was unlocked and rooted I just uninstall them. But with RX2 Pro I can not help cuz until custom ROMs I will not being unlocked neither rooted.

I always prefer freezing them instead of uninstalling, because remove them is an irreversible and invasive operation. But everyone choose what he prefers. I also chose tho freeze them on realme because i've read few messages of people who went into bootloop after uninstalling some apps.

Lagging

It's been 3 weeks since the phone has launched, also the ram stays free upto 2gb; however, phone lags and stutters.
Go to dev. option, and lower the animations to 0.5 not 1.0. and you'll notice a difference.
Also get rid of Samsung and android bloatwares. you can choose to kill apps working in background more than two
Install a light launcher (I suggest Lawnchair) and finally reduce animations in advanced features.
