First off, I have no issues with the device itself (not bricked, etc.).
I simply want to restore my Kindle Fire HD 7" to the system settings and specs as if I just unboxed the device.
Is there any way to do this? If not, what can I do to reach the closest specs?
Thank you!
Just flash it using kffa's restore then unroot it, that's pretty much stock. You can then make sure it's stock by manually updating by downloading the update file from Amazon's site and following their instructions.

Does towelroot work on 2013 Kindle Fire HD?
I tried it and it didn't seem to work. This is because of the write protected partitions, yes?

We are on the same boat. I only had my computer detect a Kindle Fire HD 7 (1st gen) ONCE out of the 3 times I owned it. Then this new one is a damnation. I can't get the root script made for the new 2nd gen to work. And there are no alternatives. I'm not even gonna bother asking others on the actual forum just to hear what I have already tried...
I have a Kindle P48WVB4 (Kindle Fire HD 7" 2013) that was my brother's, and now it is stuck in a bootloop. I believe it did this in the middle of an update. I have done some Google searching and learned that Kindle Fire Utility and Kindle Fire Unbrick Utility will not help with the 2013 model I have.
Does anyone know if there is any fixes available for this model yet?

Using Tapatalk so can't point you there but if you look in Development currently 2nd thread with Supertool. Look halfway down in first post and you will find a link to downgrade. Just did mine. First time with Fire so took a little learning but worked. I had to use the actual Supertool to first update my drivers for adb and fastboot to be able to see the Fire tablet. Then I ran the downgrade part. I also learned to deregister with Amazon first and to unplug the tablet before trying to use Kingroot to root. All went smoothly once I figured those steps out after searching for a bit.

I'm trying to connect my wife's new 7th gen Kindle Fire 7 HD to ADB to get rid of bloatware she doesn't want and enable foreground monitoring by her installed screenwise meter. I've spent half the day and still can't get ADB to recognize the Kindle Fire. I've updated my ADB and located two versions of Kindle Fire 7 HD ADB drivers, one from 2012 and one from 2014. I installed the newer version ADB driver from 2014, but it doesn't work. Is there an updated ADB driver for the 7th gen model? I would greatly appreciate a link to the ADB USB driver that works with the 7th gen Fire 7 HD. Thanks.
Found it finally. If you want to connect the Fire 7 7th Gen to your computer you need the adb drivers for the fire 7 that Amazon released in November 2016. Here's the link. https://s3.amazonaws.com/android-sdk-manager/redist/kindle_fire_usb_driver.zip
