Has anybody got a correct work of this feature? I'm trying to set my car's Bluetooth as trusted device (sorry, it's a direct translation from Spanish; I don't know how is it shown in English version) but my phone still ask for fingerprint or PIN.
I've the same problem.
Is it possible to fix?

And, half year later, is there any workaround or solution?
I think you can't use Smart Lock in MIUI. I tried it when xiaomi.eu was updated to Nougat but it wasn't working. It seems to work with AOSP based ROMs and LineageOS though.

Hello,
I recently acquired a Mi 8 and after years and years of always rooting, flashing etc... since Android 1.6 i decided to take a break and just let myself go with the flow.
This is acutally pretty hard to stand to this, when i first powered on the device (Saturday 10th November), it was on MIUI 9 and i could say it was working well, especially the bluetooth AND type-C to Jack audio. i was able to get the full volume of my head/earphone.
but now that i updated to MIUI 10 the afternoon right after my tests. Bluetooth AND type-C to Jack audio is extremly low, maybe a bit higher with jack but environmental sounds are still way more above the sound i can hear from my head/earphone.
i tested the bluetooth "pro" earphone given in the box, a bluedio T6 (bluetooth & wired) and a Sony MDR-XB950 (Wired). At maximum Volume, all i can hear is about 5% (give or take) of the real audio output i can get from them on another devices.
i Tried to activate the developper option called "Deactivate Absolute Volume" nothing changed, i tried to change the AVRCP Bluetooth version nothing changed. for the next option, no matter what i do, they don't save and revert back themselves to default:
- Bluetooth Audio Codec
- Audio Sample Rate
- Channel Bluetooth mode
- Bluetooth Audio bits
if anyone would have a solution for that it would be great, i'm really thinking of getting rid of the phone just because of that as i use it almost 5 to 11 hours a day to listen to audio.
Second is less complicated, why do i have MIUI 10.0.3.0 Stable when the latest Global Stable is 10.0.2.0 ? and isn't MIUI 10 supposed to bring Android Pie ?
last but not least, I can't seem to install GPay and it would save me lots of time, do really need to switch to a custom rom such as the one provided by Xiaomi.eu ? if so do i need to go throught the whole process of installing a custom rom and always having to try and avoid bugs and random FC + reboot every now and then ?
that was the main reason i wanted to go for a new phone and not modify it, i had great times modifying my phones until my LeEco Le Max 2 got me tired of it by having mechanical problems due to software changes.
Try to change region to USA. When the region is an European country the volume is very low. That's what I did to solve this problem.

Wow, without a reboot or anything else that solved the problem for wired audio, I'll try with my Bluetooth headset once I get home ! Thanks bro.
Any ideas why that Region Change provoked it? I'm kind of interested for the answer.

You're welcome. European Union has a policy in order to prevent ear damaging. It's very annoying I think.
Yeah I knew about that but I never encountered a limit THAT low. I guess they tried too hard on respecting that instead of getting all 4G band working or letting us use Google pay
[Edit] choosing U.S deactivated face unlock, NANI?!
@moneshaq u will have to goes back to roots .... is the right thing ....as for Bluetooth and hpj viper4android theres an magick module for that ...google pay ...same magisk can safety pass and cts aswell certified the device ...also there's an module to play dual speaker.....the phone worth the money ....

Try a different region.
After trying almost every region (i left out a lot of third-world country, no offense) U.S is the best compromise, i get normal Volume on my sony Wired headset and my Xiaomi bluetooth earpiece but almost no sound on my Bluedio T6.
GPay not available no matter what is the region i choose and Face unlock is deactivated, i also noticed that changing multiple times of region unlocks some apps that are built-in the phone but not available in every region such as Theme manager.
i've sent an unlock bootloader request, if i don't get access to Pie update until the end of the "probation" waiting time or if that update doesn't bring up some solution, even worse adds new bugs, i'll just switch to MIUI Xiaomi.eu rom, i really like MIUI and i wanna stick with it for now, and Xiaomi.eu seems to be the best option for stable rom
Hello all! I am running the latest official EEA rom (10.2.26.0). Every 3 or 4 hours, when I open google maps and try to navigate to somewhere it shows that I am offline. The phone is connected to the internet (i open a browser to check and it works). The problem is solved with a simple reboot. Has anyone noticed the same thing?
I googled and found that one possible solution would be to uninstall and then reinstall the updates to google maps, via the play store. Try and update if it helped.
Thank you crazybill, I came across the solution but thought it was just an answer like "Have you tried to turn it of and on again" . I will give it a try and report back in a few days. I am preparing myself for a factory restore if everything else fails!
You might want to switch from the EEA ROM to Global. Xiaomi has been having problems with bugs on supposedly stable MIUI builds but the MI 9 EEA ROM seems to be plagued with far more serious bugs than the Global.
When I was running EEA there was a bug that killed the sound from incoming calls on Volte and disabled WiFi Calling. This was on a "beta stable" build that Xiaomi pushed out to many phones (including mine) via OTA. That was last month but there have been recent reports on XDA from MI 9 owners running EEA who are currently experiencing the same issue.
Reportedly the latest EEA OTA is also bricking some phones--but that's why I always unlock the bootloader on Xiaomi phones. The same thing was happening to some owners of Mix 2, Mix 2S and MI 8 phones--a routine OTA bricked their phones. With your bootloader unlocked it's usually easy to recover but with a locked bootloader it's virtually impossible unless you are willing to open the phone and attempt an EDL Test Point reset.
You might also want to take a look at your phone's location settings. When I got my MI 9 running EEA out of the box the location settings were set to a power saving option instead of high accuracy which I didn't realize so Google Maps would lose my location periodically.
Google Maps also didn't have all the permissions it should have had and didn't ask for them which I think might have something to do with the privacy laws in the EU that the EEA ROM was created to comply with.
After reading this, instead of just doing a factory reset I switched to global stable (I had already asked for unlock permission but never got around to do it). Google maps work without any issues, thank you very much

Yw
I really like the Mi 11, also the UI on Xiaomi.eu ROM.
The only thing I really miss is the smart unlock features which not seem to be supported by Xiaomi.
I tried the app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.rachel030219.smartlocklauncher&hl=it and then SmartLock is visible and configeable but trusted places does not work.
I also tried Tasker with SecureSettings and unlocking with my pincde but itI cannot get it to work.
I am using pincode and fingerprint.
Anyone had success with unlocking the phone at home via GPS or WiFi network?
Please advice.
Thanks in advance.
Same here. I am missing the smartlock function in my previous phone.
I am now using the face recognition function and it works pretty the same too. You may want to try.
Thanks and I am using it right now, but less secure and useless when the phone lies next to me and I want to unlock it..
Hope some one had it working on MI 11?
Hey there, I installed this havoc os rom on my redmi 4x just to make this phone alive for some more time, but what happened is it wasn't registering my google account, after multiple attempts, turns out IT WORKS with a different network (wifi), as if google has blocked my wifi(don't know), since then i tried multiple roms clean installls and same problem. I logged in into google services with different network and now when i operatr it with wifi, YouTube takes too much to show results, Google voice doesn't work.. idk what happened. Rest of the rom is fine, is this any problem with GApps? I flashed nikgapps basic version. How the heck is my phone tracing that network even when i delete everything before installing new rom.
PLEASE someone tell me what to do, tell me a different stable rom that Just works!, i want to give this phone to my mom for basic use like phone calls and YouTube. Can't flash mi roms because they don't have on screen navigation buttons and this device's nav buttons do not work so that's what i flashed a custom rom in the first place.
Well, I connect a Bluetooth device, such as Bluetooth headphones or Bluetooth in a car. I try to call someone on the phone, but the call doesn't go through. The information panel shows that the SIM cards are not activated, then after a few seconds, they reboot and become active again. If I make calls through the internet, there are no such problems. Restarting the phone doesn't help. Resetting network and Bluetooth settings doesn't help. Resetting Bluetooth devices doesn't help, so please don't suggest obvious solutions, I've already tried everything simple. The problem is definitely not with the headphones; the problem is with the phone itself, but I can't figure out how to solve it. I didn't find anything useful on the internet. The phone is Xiaomi Poco M3 Pro 5G. Android 13.
Does anyone know how to solve the problem?
p.s. everything worked fine several weeks ago.
Android 13? try reflashing the firmware and the MIUI once again from the stock rom from thirdparty websites, or just use the a12.1 custom rom although its not a13, its working and everything is just awesome, no issues at all, and its AOSP so its much better than MIUI
