any way to downgrade from marshmallow? - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

so i would really like to install darthstalker or hyperdrive rom but im stuck on this stupid marshmallow. I have tried many times downgrading with odin and stock firmwares, no luck. what gives?

What gives? Not reading disclaimers and researching.
I unlocked your mum's bootloader.

I tried to downgrade last night, I was able to put the rom on my phone but I had issues trying to root and install the custom ROM. So if you definitely want to do the research first.

LoL @ arbiter.
There might be a way but it involves using a n910t2 fw dunno about it for sure cuz im just fine on MM.

[Q] At&t Note 3 bootloop/flash stock help

hi everyone, im a newbie and im having a little trouble understanding and fixing my phone.
so ill start at the beginning, i bought a note 3 from at&t N900A and then moved out of the US (after contract expired and i sim unlocked with the code they gave me.)
I could not connect to at&t servers from outside US to OTA update. (i dont remember if i was mj5 or mi9)
So i learned about rooting while trying to update and decided to use kingo root app and got root access
then i installed safestrap 3.71 for a custom recovery, then i backed up my stock rom and made a new rom slot. Then i resorted my stock rom to rom slot 1.
this is my mistake: i flashed the knoxraid rom from here
http://galaxynote3root.com/att-galaxy-note-3-roms/knoxraid-kitkat-rom-for-att-galaxy-note-3/
however i forgot to do the data/factory wipe. To make matters worse i realized this and pulled the battery out after about 20 seconds (the download bar was about 10% complete)
when i put the battery back in the phone went straight to recovery (recovery and download mode were the only ones working)
i started panicking as this was my first time rooting/installing roms and tried to find a solution
i found one and used this:
http://www.droidviews.com/how-to-unbrick-att-galaxy-note-3-sm-n900a/
i flashed all the files correctly and odin got to about 95% and the said FAIL
i panicked again when i turned my phone on and it went to an error screen saying firmware upgrade incountered an issue etc.
before i harm my device further i would like to know what to do (i can still get to download mode)
odin mode say it is A2 so i belive that is mj5
i want to know: should i reflash stock mj5, and if so please provide link
should i do this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48243768&postcount=1
should i use the N900AUCUBMI9_OneClickBin.exe
or should i flash nc2 files found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-att/general/n900aucucnc2-odin-files-t2838117
will the nc2 kitkat brick my device? keep in mind it is running A2 which im sure is mj5
Thank you everyone in advance
NC2 won't brick your device, but it'll upgrade your bootloader to A3 which will prevent you from ever downgrading back to MJ5 (not that you'd want to anyway). I'd just go with NC2 since it's rootable with TowelRoot anyway. Also, in your case I'd recommend using the 4-file method rather than the 1-file method since it's an upgrade from 4.3 rather than just a restore to stock 4.4.2.

You might want to consider adding the Pit file too to repartition your phone just in case anything got messed up in the failed odin flash that would definitely clean everything up. It might be overkill but I don't think it would hurt to do since you're doing a factory reset with the 4-file install anyway

[Q] Can't Get Custom ROM to Flash on AT&T OA1 S5

I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 AT&T OA1 (G900A) and I cannot get the phone to take a custom rom flash. First I downgrade to NCE using ODIN 3.09, check install from unknown sources, then I install towelroot and successfully root the phone. Install SuperSU and update the binary, reboot, install Busybox. Shut down and go back into download mode and use ODIN to flash the OA1 kernel. I then install either flashfire or SafeStrap and then instruct them to wipe the phone other than internal memory and flash the rom zip. I have tried several roms and everytime I get back to the same thing... the default recovery screen with a dead android.
Any suggestions or ideas what I am doing wrong?

After downgrading to nce and rooting there is no need to update the kernel back to OA1 as all the kitkat roms are based off the nce build. Our you can root then upgrade to lollipop using this method
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3076803 as the devs for the s5 roms have moved to 5.0.

I have tried to do the flash several times without going back to the OA1 kernel too, but I thought that may have been the issue. I figured out quickly it wasn't.
One thing I may have been missing is that I am trying to flash lollipop roms. Is that my problem? Do I need to be flashing a KitKat rom unless I flash the rom to linked to in your post? How do I get a lollipop rom flashed if that's the issue?

You can't flash lollipop roms unless your already on lollipop. You'll have to stick with kitkat roms unless you upgrade using the method in the link that i posted. Once you upgrade to lollipop using that method you'll be able to flash lollipop roms.

Good deal. Which one did you go with. I've ran alliance, twi5ted, and TMS 2.0. I personally like TMS best. Seems like it runs smother for me.

I went with TMS 2.0, but I was hoping to get a Cyanogenmod based rom installed. I have tried several times to install the Fusion rom using FlashFire, but each time I get an unmount failed notice and have to go back to NCE.
What do you like about TMS?

First off you can't flash cyanogenmod cause of the locked bootloader. We have to stick with TW base roms. I like the stability about TMS2.0 plus the fact that the dev is still working on it. Most all the other devs have went to other phones. TalkingMonkeys is a great dev and is constantly working on mods and features.

Root with stock kernel?

Is there no way to simply do this? I like to stay stock on my daily driver, but I kinda need root. Not possible to just flash TWRP and then SuperSU zip? Wouldn't this accomplish what I want to do?
Thanks for your replies!
Havent looked at rooting my note 5 yet but yes. If root is possible then everything is usually stock based untill u start flashing other stuff. I normally run stock roms with my rooted phones. Rooting in itself usually doesnt changed kernals.
Whenever updates come out just wait a couple days and flash the "stock rooted roms" to keep everything stock based

N910T Back to Stock... Help Please.

HI Just wanted some advice. Im on 6.01 Overdrive rooted but would like to go back to stock as I feel I'm not using any rooted featured and also I'm getting problems with Oculus etc.
My Question is what's the best Firmware to flash in Odin that if I decide to go rooted again it won't block me or upgrade my bootloader. I'm on Baseband PE3 at present.
Do I need to wipe anything? Or is an Odin Flash enough. Thanks
I use epg2. You can flash the dev base for that. I pulled the boot.img from it and flashed over to remove root. The 910t had guides to get you back to lp from anything before pj2. Haven't bothered upgrading past that point.

Droid Turbo Issue - Need Some Help

I have a Droid Turbo already rooted with BHB27's Oreo ROM, works awesome. So I got my son the same phone and went about trying to root it and install the same ROM. I had software bricked it but used RSDLite and got a stock ROM installed and now I can boot into Marshmallow. But now the wi-fi doesn't work. I have tried flashing different radios and modems with no luck. I need the wi-fi to work so that I can download sunshine and connect so that sunshine can root. Any advice on how to get the wi-fi working? It might be the wrong stock ROM, but I can boot it. It was previously on Marshmallow 6.0.1 prior to all of this so if anyone has a link to the correct stock ROM I can try and flash it. I have downloaded so many "stock" ROMS I'm not sure which was is the proper one.
Thanks for any advice. Any questions just ask.
