I have a sony xperia z3 compact which was my dads until it stopped working at all. He used it in the morning browsing on the internet and facebook, his battery was on 100% in the morning as he was using it, it dropped dramatically fast to 60% and became really hot he turned the phone off to cool down for a while and when turned it back on he had 40% battery life. he used it for a little while it it became to 15% and became really hot again and he turned it off after a while he needed to turn it back on and the phone refused to come back on. When you connect it to a power source (PC or wall) the notification light only turns on but if u press the power button or a sequence of buttons nothing happens. Can someone please help and tell me whats wrong here.

Use the Sony Pc comanion and reflash the rom using the instructions in the app.
I had this problem. When i did what i said up, my phone worked like a charm

I have a sony ericsson x1 for almost two years, and today I listened to the radio while the phone is locked.
I made the soft reset and turned off without giving any sign of life.
the battery was charged, but the cell does not turn in any way, will not turn on the red LED on the power button, and if the battery is not charged LEDs light side.
I tried to leave a little under load, but the phone is cool and shows no signs of charge, it is completely dead.
I installed a WM6.5 ROM with a couple of months ago, but now the phone will not be any sign of life.
Guys please help me I do not know what to do

Hi guys, I need some help with this one,
I have looked at pretty much all of the forums online relating to my problem and all are very similar to mine but it's not quite the same.
A few days ago now my Sony Xperia Z kept getting really really hot. At one point it said it was too hot and it was shutting down. I cooled it down then tried it again. It worked fine this time. Later that day, it just turned itself off again after getting really hot. This time I couldn't turn it on the normal way. To turn it back on I pushed the volume up button and the power button, this worked fine. The next day my battery said it was at 54% for about 6 hours (not possible) then got really hot and shut down again. This time I cannot get it on at all. Ive tried the power button and volume up. Ive tried AC mains charger, USB charger, New leads and I get nothing.
When I plug it in, I get no charging LED, obviously no charge at all and similarly when I connect it to the PC, nothing happens. I don't know what to do now other then send it back to the manufacturer. However, I have about 450 photos on there which I REALLY need. If I send it back to them for repair they will erase everything. (the photos are on the internal memory, not SD card)
So first of all, How can I get my phone back on? Secondly, If i can't get it on, How do I get my photos off?

Ok, I will be honest, it is my girlfriends phone lol
Keep it on charging for few hours.. Again try volume up with power button.. If it doesn't work, go to Service centre

i have a xperia z c6603 with latest firmware. Last night i installed few live wallpapers after which phone got extremely hot ( especially from upper back side), I turned it off restarted it but battery still drained quickly. I decided to let it drain and i will charge it 100% after that. But when it turn off i could not turn it on again no matter what. The red LED light lights up when i plug usb cable but nothing more than that. its not heating up as well. i have tried power button + volume up trick but no use.
Please help coz i am damn scared if my 3 days old phone is already dead!
Connect the original wall charger and leave the phone for an hour then try to turn it on again.
If the phone boot,do a factory reset.

Just tried what u said. Still no use. I doesn't turn on. I be plugged in original wall charger for more than 2 hrs now
Ok th is strange. My xperia z Drains battery even if its powered off! can anyone explain me this why this is happening. now my phones battery is at absolute zero and i cant turn it on!

I read the threads I could find on the issue but none of them helped. Here is my situation:
The phone was working all day without issues. I did not install any other applications. Left the phone on (and did not connect to power supply) all night. Next morning, the phone did not start. I thought the batter drained.
Connected it to a power supply all day but cannot get it started.
Tried the volume up + power on button several times without any signs (e.g vibration).
A red LED shows when the phone is connected to the PC or a power supply.
Tried flashtool but the phone does not get recognized. Any help would be great!
Don't worry this is normal, leave it to charge for a while and it should boot up fine. Happened to me more times than I can remember, scared the crap out of me haha
Connect the charger and keep charging until the red led change to yellow. The is normal behavior if you drain the battery to death.

Thanks for your replies. The phone is on charge for more than 12 hrs. How long will it take for the red LED change to yellow?

Overall, I am quite surprised how little reaction this issue has caused with you guys. This is an unlocked BL, rooted phone with a deodexed 10.3.1.A.2.67 firmware. So, rather standard. I use the stamina mode, causing almost no battery drain while idle. The phone never dropped battery below 30%. I am not using any apps to mod CPU or other fancy settings. This significant issue could happen to many Sony users.
I will contact Sony to see what they can do (not much I guess). In the meantime, if anyone else experienced this problem, please contact me.

Good news. Sony replaced the phone and included the charging station as well! Good service and a happy customer.
hi im new here and i really need your help. while im surfing my facebook with mobile data on, my phone suddenly turned off. i hold the power button then start up boot sony went on then auddenly went off again. i tried that at about 3 to 5 times and same thing happen until the boot loader didnt appear anymore. i let it close and drove home (that was about 1 and 30 minutes more or less). i charged it using the dock that came from sony itself and i tried to hold the power. then it opened. it was it 71% battery when i opened it. so i charged it for awhile and i uncharged it so i can play music while taking a shower, not more than one song the phone went off again and this time it wont open. i checked this forum and i saw some troubleshooting like holding the power and volume up for about 10 sec. it was suppose to vibrate but it didnt. no red blink or whatsoever. lile my phone is really dead. tried plugging it in my laptop but pc companion wont read it since it was off. tried charging it and went to sleep and woke up 4am to check it but still the same. PLEAASE HEEEEELP im desperate!!! :crying:
You posted in the wrong device forumn, this is the newer model that was just released, however, i hope you got your phone back running already, when you tried to hold power + vol up for 10 seconds, try holding it for a minute instead, if this doesn't work it's probably a hardware problem and you should try to contact sony
