Please Port AOSP 7.0 for Moto G 2014 (XT1068) - G 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone, guys I really want to try out Android N i.e. Android 7.0 Please can any developer port it ? I am ready to try test builds or whatever is required. Thanks !

They're already working on it, there's no need to ask.

Devs are working to prepare for cm 14, so will not release an aosp build before. It will be interesting to see an early build, but guys don't spam these requests and don't put pressure to devs

currently the best developers ( flar2, arter, eng.stk, Taker and others) are working on op3 development.
OnePlus is developers friendly device. If you take dev scene for OnePlus one and current activity for op3 in xda rest assured that there will be not only Android N but there also be Android O and if we are lucky op3 will see Q (if there is Android O/Q)
Why i think we will see even Android Q because OnePlus one released with kitkat.but now its already running marshmallow & I'm sure it will get Android N too
Developers will start working on N when Google will release full sources for public.

Never ask about ETA,Dev will release when it is complete..
N is out!
N is out now - I'm not an XDA regular - where's the best place to subscribe to for a notification of n Based roms?

Can someone build an updated MM Rom?

Hi everyone. I'm just wondering if someone can or have be possibility to build and updated MM for since I find it more stable.
I know it's a "step back" but it will be cool to have the possibility to get some MM rom with the last security patch and the last release of MM.
Thanks in advance for reading this and hope someone can do this(i tried so many times before with other devices but I think my pc it's too bad for this and got a lot of issues just trying it)
I agree: it's a good idea to keep update at least one Marshmallow rom if it is proved that they are more stable. Waiting and hoping that Xiaomi will pubblish their Cancro Marshmallow source code

Anyone? Even a pure AOSP would be nice. I don't mind about not having any customization and I think some people would love to try it, or maybe just me

anybody working on a android O ROM?

or any word of the new android being ported to the device...

It isn't even officially out yet. It will only be official once they name it.
And it is still in developer preview for even Google devices and it still has bugs on them!
And you expect us to already get Android o on this device which first of all is an mtk device, and secondly our device is outdated. I don't think any Dev will even care about it at that time. Most devs already switched their devices.
We know how difficult it was to get Android n on a7k. And the source still isn't fully stable.
Anyways, there's not much on Android o now so forget about it. We can talk about it when it is released in the stable branch.
Android Oreo Is Out ..
May be we can have a taste of Oreo for a7k in future
Let's hope it would come soon

How long it will take for android O custom ROM???

Hi
I was just wondering after release of AOSP Sources , how long it wipp take for stable build of android o for oneplus 3T
after the release of android z
It may be a few months, may be next year. Nobody knows at this point. Official OOS 8.0 Release will be in a few months so a custom rom release could also be around that time

Why do we need oos to push out 8.0 for us to get it with custom ROMs? Thought custom ROMs can be somewhat 'ported' over from some devices or built from the open sources? I was also wondering the same as op, but didn't expect it to take that long. Hopefully it will be sooner than later

I wasn't implying we need to wait for OOS. I was merely stating if OOS is gonna take a few months, Custom Devs might as well. But i do hope I'm wrong. I think either RR or PA would be the first to take it up.
When Android M and N were was released, we started getting custom roms within 1~2 months on OP2. Should be fast than this on OP3T.

RR is based on LineageOS, so that's not gonna happen unless the source updates first.
PA has limited resources meaning it could take a while for them too.
I'm guessing it's gonna be a random dude with an AOSP port with the first alpha in about 3 weeks. Just a guess, so don't count on it.

Why would anyone use an outdated version full of bugs and security holes?
You can always check out the code an do a build for yourself.

Not everyone has the ability to build a ROM from source themselves. When I first got into building from source it took me 2 years off and on just trying to get a build environment together. My first successful build was CM 11 for Hammerhead! I build on a Virtual Machine with Ubuntu and a build takes me days to complete. I remember the days of being a noob in rooting and flashing ROMs for Metro PCS phones
i have tried ti load nethunter Kali, without success
