Screws. - OnePlus 3 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi! I'd like to remove the rear cover of my OP3 to fix a dent, but I don't know what kind of screwdriver I need to remove the back housing. Can anyone trell me what kind of screws are and the kind of screwdriver I need to buy?
One more thing. Will I lose my phone warranty if ONLY I remove the back housing (without touching any other components)?
Thanks!

U need a Torx T2 screwdriver.
Dont know about the warranty maybe someone else knows that

Rubber around charging port cover coming off

Guess this isn't covered by the warranty? How do I put it back? Glue?
I have the same problem but near the earphones jack... Going to experiment with super glue just to get the rubber back in place... No sony warranty doesn't cover it plus they'll charge you for the cover and labor

That's the problem right there. The rubber piece has been torn off due to excessive use. i just noticed a piece of rubber is missing on my phone too and Sony isn't going to cover physical damage cause by negligence of the owner. In short, we're to blame for not taking adequate care of the flaps. Anyway, good luck and do tell me if they get it fixed for you. Sony India refused.

Neither do i. BTW your phone isn't water resistant anymore until you get that fixed. I had a little water seep through that's when i found out that the rubber is coming of.
Edit: Just to clarify things, i asked if mine would be taken under warranty and they said no. I didn't ask how much it would cost. There's a chance that they might just replace the rubber instead of the entire flap, hopefully, so try your luck.
Why not source your own from somewhere like here:

I spoke to Sony UK around a month ago as my headphone flap is missing its rubber seal. No luck, these are apparently 'sacrificial' and aren't covered under warranty for ANY defect or damage in normal use.
Sucks to be us right now.

Hello everybody,
i have a question also to all rubber seals .Xperia Z is now like 6 month old how is the qualtiy and the snapping until now. Does it become a bad snapping feeling?
The reason why iam asking is that i want to buy maybe the Xperia Z Ultra and want to be sure that the qualtiy of the rubber seal is good.
Any luck getting it fixed guys
Mine just got torn of overnight.....i left my phone beside my bed charging it next thing you know i just cant seem to get it to lock in place then i saw the rubber piece got removed(the phone is just 1 month old)....luckily i found it and tried gluing it back but the piece got torn of so a bit of bad luck there.Any chnace the service centere could fix it i dont mind paying though (xperia z ultra)
the flap pulls right out. so just buy a new one online and pull the old one out
done, much better than spending a good chunk at a service center. and it's not like they could tell you did it so you'll still have warranty

Sacrificial? I guess that means we can easily source a replacement seal.
WTF...
How hard is it to replace the flaps? And anyone have a source? My problem one is the charging one, as obviously that gets opened and bloody closed daily.
The flaps are really a poor design. My only physical complaint on the phone.

They pull out? Have you done this, or read of it being done this way? Everything I keep seeing indicates the rear needs removal for it.
Looking at the pics I've seen though, they should be able to be installed with them in place, but it'd be touch and go pulling it out without snapping it. If you had a really fine micro "slim-jim" type tool you might be able to push it down the hole and trip any clasp.
I also guess even if it did break, you could install the replacement without the thether... It probably would work better without, you'd just have to not lose them... I mean having them flapping when open is irritating, and probably the reason the rubber seals are damaged. In fact, looking at my phone now while it is charging, I can see that the rubber seal when open is physically touching the USB cable. Bad bad design...
Cheers

[Q] Waterproof?

will be this phone waterproof after replacing digitizer only?
First, you will not be able to replace only the digitiser. The screen and digitiser are glued together. Also, when removing the screen and digitiser from the frame, they will almost certainly break. You will have to buy a complete screen/digitiser assembly.
Having said that, it depends on how well the phone is put back together afterwards. If all the adhesive strips are replaced with new ones and properly applied and everything is properly assembled, then it should be.
See this thread for a guide - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2417650
If you're not comfortable or experienced with working with mobile phones or electronics in general, this is not a good phone to start messing with. My advice in that case would be to take it to a reputable service centre and save yourself some trouble.

http://allegro.pl/dotyk-szybka-sony-xperia-z-l36h-c6603-c6602-i3997213157.html i found this and this is service and they can replace it in their services I only i ask u will it be waterproof if they replace digitizer good?
BTW ty for reply
If they do it properly, it should still be water resistant.
I would be wary though. Like I said, it's highly doubtful that they will be able to separate the digitiser from the LCD or even remove them from the front cover without breaking them both as extremely strong glue is used.
A full screen assembly is around 160 Euros (675 Zloty), so you may finish up having to spend more than you're expecting.

The Back Cover Of My Xperia SP is Squeaking

hi, When i press the back cover of my xperia sp it is noisy and squeak around the center, as if the cover was bad.
help i buy my xperia yesterday. but i dont take it to warranty because i bought my xperia in other country.
Help!
I have that too! The back cover is badly made compared to the rest of this device

Mine also has this problem -- I've been considering wedging something in there to stop it flexing as I don't believe replacing it would fix the problem -- it's just that the plastic is too thin and not supported in the middle enough.
I had the same problem but over time the squeaking sound went away.

No issues here
Edit: Sometimes I can press on my backcover and it bend.. But it seems a flexible cover...
Is there a Solution?

Sony Z3 Compact Microphone Cover

I just had my phone repaired and they did a pretty bad job putting it back together again. So I decided to keep the cost down and repair the phone myself as the last guy basically rob me of £100. Even at this price he did not even make the phone water tight again and just glued the screen down here and there in places.
Anyway, I have now opened up my phone, front and back covers have been removed, and I have manage to remove all of the glue which he used. In the process of removing the glue a small black strip came away where the microphone is situated.
Can anybody help me to explain what this is and if it is possible to repair or replace such item? A good guess tells me it is the microphone dust cover??
Many thanks in advance....
Posting some photo?

Any one know a way to remove screen scratches without replacing the front glass???
There is no way. That's why we use screen protectors.

Try contacting huawei or it's authorized repair center for a quote, alternative, if you have friends in china, they are readly available very cheap to purchase and replace, in the next few days I will be going to china to get a pink back cover, this color isn't available in my country. You can also try aliexpress.
