Today I connected my OP3 to my PC in order to copy OOS 3.5.3 instalation file.
I got a lot of trouble to copy the file because the copy process crashed several times, but the most weird thing was that Windows file Explorer just shows a few of my sdcard files and folders.
Using my phone's file manager I can see all the files, but Windows doesnt!
What could be wrong here?

Use another USB slot, preferably on the back of your PC.

one thing to check on your windows PC;
go to the start menu and open the "control panel" in windows, then open "folder options" click on the "view" tab. In the advanced settings box look for "Hidden Files and Folders" make sure the "show hidden files, folders and drives" radio button is selected. then also make sure the "hide extensions for known file types" selection box is NOT checked.
when you reconnect usb cable to phone and it displays phone charging, click on it and select files transfer you will then see your storage on phone

Try Windows\Rings
Make sure that when you go into the "Explore" tab in Active Sync, you have selected to UNhide all files and folders through "Tools > Options". Otherwise, your Windows folder won't even appear in the Explore window.

I dont see that option. can you be more specific?
thanks

After you've opened "Explore" in ActiveSync, tap "Tools > Folder Options". Then open the "View" tab. Under the Folder that say's "Hidden files and folders, tap the radio button next to "Show hidden files and folders". Exit out of that window and your Windows directory folder will now show up.
noob question here. just flashed a new ROM & i want to re-load the original ringtones but cant find the right folder to dump it.
can anyone help?

how to access windows folder in Vista device center 6.1
in active sync 4.5 it was easy
Open Windows Explorer. Press ALT. You'll see a menu. Press Tools -> Folder Options. Go to the View tab. Uncheck Hide protected operating system files and also chose Show hidden files and folders. Press OK.
Now you'll be able to see the Windows folder on your PDA.
When I went to install a CAB noticed that I had a third option to install to, besides Main Memory and Storage Card, it was Bluetooth. I went to the File Explorer and noticed that there is a Bluetooth folder in My Device. I have no idea how this folder was created, but I have no use for Bluetooth and want to delete it!
When I try to delete it in the File Explorer it says access denied. When I go to Total Commander and delete it, the screen flashes, but the folder remains.. in the properties window none of the attributes are checked, and the in ROM attribute is grayed out.
Please Help! Thanks.
thats probably just a generic folder for any bluetooth storage devices (if there be such a thing). If you have no use for it, just leave it alone. It's not taking any space (well, maybe a couple bytes, but thats nothing)
Hi all,
I just started playing with my Nexus over the last couple of days. Using Astro I made some directories in /storage/sdcard0. When I mount the Nexus onto my Windows 7 laptop I don't see the directories created using Astro. Anyone experience this? If so, any idea how to get everything to appear?
Thanks,
-Gary
Try rebooting the tablet.

Same issue here. In order to see the files I've dropped onto the tablet, I have to use a file explorer. Bummed I can't drop epubs into an eBook folder or drop them into my Google books folder and read them in Google books.
Once I open the file in the file explorer,I can open the file with the kindle app.

I'm trying to create a folder on my N7 to use with MobileNoter. I got an app called Android File Manager and created a folder, but when I connect to my Win7 PC I see all the folders except the one I created. On the PC the folders are under "Nexus>Internal Storage" and in on the N7 AFM they are under "/storage/sdcard0".
Anybody know how to make a new folder on the N7 that I can get to on my PC? I've verified that I have the latest USB driver (mentioned in another thread) and I've rebboted
Thanks in advance for any help.

You're going to have to reboot the tablet or unplug then replug most likely. I had the same issue when managing my nandroids and a tablet reboot fixed them normally.
I believe it's an issue with the MTP protocal truthfully.

I rebooted my Nexus and I now can see the new folder in Windows Explorer (and copy files to it.) Still can't create folders however.
Same problem here. I just drop everything in the downloads folder and then move them around with root explorer
Hi,
I have downloaded OTA on my Telstra HTC One and would like to take out firmware.zip file from OTA file for easy flashing of stock recovery and boot image when I want to go back to stock.
I am not able to find the OTA.zip file anywhere on the phone. Does any one know exact location where this file is on the phone ?
Thanks
In downloads folder
That's the first place I checked but there is nothing in there.
I even tried with Show Hidden Files option and could not find OTA zip file anywhere on the storage.
Is there a chance that it is stored on internal storage which is not accessible via USB

If you have root use ES file Explorer to find it anyware on your phone. Then upload it to DropBox and download it on your PC whenever you need.

check here: /data/data/com.android.providers.downloads/cache/
however, I believe you need root access to be able to access that folder.
