Microphones are reversed - OnePlus 3 Guides, News, & Discussion

Lower the microphone (main) functions as a noise-canceling, and the one that on the back of the camera as the main, as saying it, I'm fine hearing. I reset to factory settings, did not help. Reflash the way up to 3.2.7 Oxygen problem persists

there are thousands of OnePlus owners with the same problem, just google: OnePlus microphone.
you can send your phone for repair but it will take a month to fix (if they fix it). Try to flash 3.2.1 or the next one

Hi, like this thread! Hope that will help to wait not longer for fix!

[Q] Microphone not usable

Hi,
I'm unable to use my microphone on my Phone. When I call someone they can't hear my voice. When I launch the Google Search Mic, it doesn't detect any sound unless I scream or hit the phone, but the gray circle isn't big (meaning its not picking up too much sound). However, when I run the diagnostics tool within settings, I can hear even whispering.
This issue started since a few days ago. I was at a pool party and had the phone in my pocket. All ports were sealed, phone ON. I was recording audio at the time. I went in through the shallow end and I realized I had my phone in my pocket, 5 mins later. My phone was OFF when I pulled it out. When I powered it back ON after getting a towel to dry it, it did some weird sequence ( SONY logo, then picture of a triangle with a wrench and screwdriver inside). I had to hold the Power + Volume up to get out of it. I powered it back on and it booted into the OS, surprisingly. I found there were no problems...except for the mic. I dried my phone and all, no water internally.
Just yesterday I restarted my phone to clear out some RAM. I notice it was doing this weird sequence again, except that time instead of the triangle with a wrench it was a picture of android, progress bar on the bottom. It rebooted again to the OS, nothing's different.
Here's my configuration:
-STOCK 14.1.G.0.534
-C6903
-No Warranty
-Locked bootloader
-No Root, recoveries, and busybox
I flashed everything to defaults using SUS to see if it's a software problem, but that didn't fix it. I factory reset and it didn't work. What can I do to fix this? Is there an app I can download to amplify the mic (or file)?
Using Earbuds fixes the issue. But I don't prefer it attached to my phone all the time.
Flash and Update to the latest Firmware and check is the problem persist, wipe everything. If you do not want the latest FW then Update to JB 4.3 FW .136. It doing crazy so I will recommend to upgrade and wipe all. if then the problem still there and it still go out of software then I will start think about something worse than just a Software problem.

I forgot to mention on my post: When I use Speaker phone the mic works. I turned off the Mic suppression and tried with speaker phone off, but nothing.
I'm upgrading the phone to latest atm, will report back.
Upgrade did not help me.
Isn't there 2 mics on this phone? Maybe 1 of them broke...not sure.
Is this a hardware issue?

I looked at the service manual and saw there are two mics: one on the top at the back of the phone, and one on the bottom inside the speaker. I used Audacity to generate a mid-high range frequency of sound. I connected earbuds to my laptop and put the ends to the mics. The mic on the top back of the phone picks up sound. The mic inside of the speaker doesn't.
EDIT: Started the service menu. Secondary mic is ok, primary mic broken.
I'm convinced this is a Hardware issue. If I send my phone to Sony to service the primary microphone, how much will it cost, minus the inspection fee? Estimates are ok.

No body can tell. Just ask them.

Microphone in call trouble

I know this is no hardware issue with my microphone. I still have sound when recording video, and or when in a call I switch to speakerphone with no trouble. Basically when I'm in a call the only way the other person can hear me is if I put my phone on speaker. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Any one?
Mic Fixed
Hello everybody
I´ve experimented the same problem than you.
Suddenly my droid´s mic stops working and I thought it was a hardware problem. I send to a technical service shop of my city, in Spain (where this device is not sold, so the technician did´t know how to open it, but he tested the pics and told me they were ok).
So the problem should be a software issue.
Well, after this, I did factory reset, wipe (all, dclvic, cache, partition....) reinstall a backup and nothing
The only solution for our problem was flash resurrection remix firmware
Once i did it the mic works perfectly. I tried to reinstall my previous back up but the problem was there again, so finally I left my device with this great rom, very stable, very quick and with lots of possibilities.
I hope you have your device unlocked and root. If not try to search in the forum because the precess is very simple.
Good bye Droid Turbo users, form Spain
still having trouble ......
I also have this trouble and nothing help.=( https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=81093

My problem was in noise suppression function, I just switch it off and all works again.)))
Edit build.prop, set string persist.audio.dualmic.config=none
Release solution))
I removed the back cover and cleaned the holes for mic's on it, and the problem went away.

Lower speaker stopped working

Hi guys,
In short....it's been an week since my Z3 compact D5803 lower speaker stopped working. I've tried almost everything (hard reset, cleaning data from smart connect, restarting in safe mode) but nothing happens. I was just hoping for some advice whether it is a software or hardware issue and what could be done.
Will appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance.
P.S. I'm currently running MM 6.0.1; 23.5.A.0.575 on NON rooted device.

First use the service menu to test the speaker,
open the phone and type *#*#7378423#*#*
select service tests - stereo speaker right & stereo speaker left.
If the speaker is working then it's a software fault.
If it's faulty then you should try and get it fixed via Sony.
Register your Sony phone
Then call support and explain the problem with the phone.
They will get you to try repairing the phone with PC Companion, so be prepared to try this or at least say you have.
They will give you the address of a service centre to send it to, along with a repair code.
Wait 5 days for your repaired phone.
Edit: your phone will be reset to the latest build, so make sure you retrieve any important data before you send it off. Be prepared that it will be factory reset.
Thanks a lot. So I've tried what you suggested and the speaker didn't make any sound. So I'll send it for service.

Microphone problem

Dears,
Suddenly mu microphone stopped and the other person cannot hear me. I don' t know what happened but there is no problem with handsfree. I can record my voice but the volume is low... Strange thing.
I made hard reset at rr rom. Not help.
I change the rom to stock+. Not help.
I reflash rr rom. Not help.
Could you help me? Why thats happened? Is there any solution to fix it?
I think that motorola service is the only solution... ?
I know it may sound stupid, but have you checked for dust, lint or water in the mic hole?

Yes i checked it many times. Yesterday it worked fine for one call and after this call the problem was there again. I don't know if it is software problem or hardware. Now i am running 5.7.3 rr rom unofficial and the first time that i found this problem, but only for one call, was at 5.7.1 rr.
But the problem remains after a clean install of stock+ rom. Now i am at vacations and i have not my laptop here. Next week i will flash the original, stock 6.0 firmware to see if the problem remains. And if yes, motorola service center is the only solution...:crying:
Well before sending it to service I would put my hopes in the "real" stock ROM. After all "stock+" is still a tampered one.
Enjoy your holidays in the meantime
Original stock rom didn't solve my problem and the issue with microphone remains. Everything else worked perfect, speakers, bluetooth, handsfree, so i believe that it's a hardware problem.
Yesterday i sent my phone at Motorola Service Center so i have to wait about 3 or 4 business days to learn which is the problem. I will post everything new.
Motorola service center changed the old microphone with a new one and my phone now works like a charm! It was a hardware problem caused by no reason...
Having same issue

Does Motorola Service replaced the top microphone (Above camera)? or Replaced the bottom one just above the micro usb plug on back side?
I am facing the same issue and Motorola Service told me that the bottom microphone is mounted(fixed) on motherboard. So it will cost 6500INR approx. So I am not sure that it needs to replace the top one or bottom one?
Any advice will be helpful. Thanks in advance.
Kishan M. (Moto X 2014 XT1092)
No, they replaced the main microphone which it was on the mainboard. And i am sure that it was not mounted on the mainboard. The other two microphones you described was perfect and till now work like a charm. I will put a photo with the replacement parts to see the microphone changed.

RMA request

Advice for RMA request
practically following various tests with my device, I have ascertained that there is a hardware problem that cause reboots.
How can I procede to open AN RMA request to RALME?
Could you kindly give me some advice?
thank you very much
"EngineeringMode"
So did you already go into "EngineeringMode" to supposedly test all hardware? (i say supposedly since who knows for sure if these tests actually are accurate or not but i assume if you get an error or faulty code this will be ultimate proof to show realme) To go into this mode, you have to go into your phones dialer pad and enter: *#899#
fyi, the issue with my phone is that when i initiate a call(either by someone calling me or me calling someone) the bottom mic(main mic) does not work. I have to go into speaker mode and then switch back to handset mode for the bottom mic to work - and in case you care, i also have a handset speaker problem, the top speaker is very dam loud even at the lowest setting. This looks to me is more of a software problem than hardware or combination of both, since i already tested the mic many times in EMode but skeptical in the results - per my statement above.
I guess my answer above is not really an answer to your question, rather is just informative. GL
Unfortunately my device has reboot problems even when I have installed the clean system, example or the colorOS, or even the lineageOS.
I believe the internal card is damaged
