Hi all, just wondering if anyone else has had this problem...
Last week, on a very hot day in Australia (36*C), I received an SMS message whilst the phone was charging....
Anyway, this turned the Diamond on, and it connected to Wifi, and stayed powered up (for some reason) for a couple of hours....
Anyway, the phone was very very hot when I unplugged it, and since then it has been playing up very badly...
The problem has been getting worse and worse, and Now I am at the stage where the phone is almost bricked !
When I switch on the phone, I am presented with a white screen. (It doesnt boot up)
If I power up holding down the Volume Down, Rest, Power Button, I can get into the bootloader screen.
I can even reflash the phone with a new Rom....
If I reflash, the phone may run for a minute or so, then crash, and refuse to power on..... (Same problem as above)
Im reluctant to send the phone off for warranty, as they cannot give me an estimate of if it can be fixed, when it will be fixed, or what day of the week it is.....
Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, how did they fix it ??????
(Im hoping I just got a dud version... I love this phone, but I am hoping this is not a common problem !?!?!?!)
Cheers for any help anyone provides !!!!!
try removing battery for 10-15 and make sure your running a 1.93 rom because 1.37 and older are known for heat issues.
you may have already done this, but its not in your first post and there are order of operations to follow.
hey buddy even i hav the same problem..it just restarts after heating up..and after 2 restarts it doesnt even go beyond 1st diamond loading screen...dont know what to do....
Guys, send your phones back to repaired or replaced. Just explain to your provider what is going on and I'm sure they'll try to help.
yea buddy...i guess so...thats the best way i can get my diamond fixed..
Hello to all you fine folks at xda.
I am not entirely new to your site but decided to register so I could post this thread since I am in need of your help.
I have already read hundred of threads on bricked/frozen/sod/... touch diamonds, but my situation seems to be unique.
So I have had my diamond for about 2 years now but haven't been using it for the last 6 months because of a sudden brick.
First of all you should probably know that I never tried to tamper with any soft or hardware of this phone so it may be considered a clean phone .. no romming no tweaking no installing of doubtable software etc..
When it bricked my diamond was in normal use (can't remember exactly what I was doing at the time but I think I was just texting to som1..). It suddenly went to black screen .. turned itself off.
I tried power button.. nothing
I tried red reset button at the back.. nothing
I tried power+vol down+center.. nothing
I tried charging.. nothing (not even circular light around the middle button).
I tried hooking it up to my pc.. nothing(no charging signs, not even a pop up on my pc that i connected a usb device)
I tried leaving the battery out for a while and re-inserting.. nothing
I tried a full charge overnight.. nothing
I tried slamming it into my head.. headache and nothing else..
So because all of the other threads about bricked diamonds seem to be about tampered with diamonds, I am wondering if there is a standard solution or other way that I can get my brick running smoothly again?
Hope I find tons of your answers and tips below!
Best regards and thanks in advance, Sam.
Bricked diamond
Two years is a long time for the battery life to be over. have you tried changing it?
No I haven't do they die that easily nowadays ? my other phones non pda all did much longer with their batteries..? What does a new battery cost me? thanks...
Why don't you go to a repair center or send it in for repair? You obviously didn't do anything that caused the malfunction, so why don't you give it a go.
In Europe you have a standard 24 months warranty on the device; hopefully you're in time.
Good luck
Hey guys, my problem is quiet a crazy because, it was running normaly under Gingerbread. 2.3.6 firemware, but it starts acting crazy because, it turn off and after that when i tried to turn it on it blocked in the logo Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 and turn off and turn on again and it s blocked in the logo, so i flashed it with odin, with the same firemware that i use in case like that, and it s worked the most of the time, but now, it s not, So guys what you think i can do, i really need your help. and thank.

Hello. I'm experiencing the same issue, which I detailed a lot here. So far, not a single answer. But the more I Google, the more I find people with the same issue, but still, a bit rare...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35018530#post35018530
Additional symptoms before this unusable state: after a phone call, when removing the phone from your ear, screen stays black. You have to press any button you can to finally switch the screen on again.
Crazy !!
If you read my post, you'll see that I can use the phone as long as it's plugged to a power source...

yeah my friend you right, but i really need help but i don t know what to do, i really thought i will trow it out, but you a phone like that can t end in a garbage if you know what i mean so i really wana fix the phone.
Hi Guys,
So this morning, I woke up to find my phone had rebooted overnight. Not surprised by this, as it often happens randomly from time to time. This time however it was stuck on the Samsung splash screen, black screen with white writing, saying N7000 blah blah....
So I rebooted the phone, and it was still stuck on the N7000 splash screen. I left it like this whilst I drove to work, and it was still like it.
I took the battery out, and left it for a little while and put it back in, but NOTHING. black / blank screen... I left it on charge on and off through out the day, as I was trying to fix another phone issue (someone elses at work...)
Anyway, got back to mine, and still nothing. Still nothing booting or displaying on screen now, just blank / black screen. As our phones don't have LED notification light, can't tell if there's life there or not. The [Open Windows] and [Back] buttons don't light up or anything.
I've read about the famous "Samsung, Black Screen of Death" which appears to affect many Galaxy branded devices, S1 - S5, Note 1 - 4, and some other models, higher up without removable batteries.
They all seems to post positive remarks, getting their phones back from the dead, by holding power button down for 1x minute and leaving the battery out to drain phone of residual? power.... I've tried this, and still no life yet. They say it may not work first time... I've tried it a few times.
Do I keep going, or is it DEAD DEAD now?? Anyone else had this? Has it worked for you guys or not??
So gutted, loved this phone...
Thanks, Lister
:crying:Still DEAD:crying:
Have you tried using Kies to restore the OS? Or download the OS file from Sammobile and install it manually using Odin.
Hi @iceepyon,
Thank you so much for replying, I appreciate that... :good:
Sadly though, I think my Note is a little beyond that stage... It doesn't even turn on, with or without battery/mains power. I think either the eMMC chip is toast, or some other hardware failure now.
All these Black Screen of Deaths for Samsung video's appear not to apply to my device, and think my device is actually just a paperweight now. Gonna try one more time to bring it back from the dead, with a JIG and see if I can repair it that way... Otherwise, it will be going to the great Silicon Heaven, in the sky.....
Thanks again... Lister

Best of luck to you. If the eMMC chip is indeed toast then you would have to purchase a replacement motherboard. It is very hard to find a N910C motherboard.
My Xiaomi note 9s does not turn on, not charging, can't get it in fastboot and basically it has no life at all
Please help if you can
Cheers
Can you give any more information?
Specifically what was happening just before it died?
Was it in use at the time or did you turn it off (and find it wouldn't turn back on)?
Was the battery fully charged or could it have shut down after being fully depleted?
Had you recently done anything unusual with it? (Rooted it or taken it swimming maybe?)

Cheers for your reply mate
I don't know its history..
It looks immaculate and new but won't turn on
So wondering if anyone had any idea about getting it working
Tried the combo buttons to restart..
Etc
Nothing dead!
Sorry dude - it's not sounding good
Not meaning to pry, but how did you come by it? Without any clues as to what's screwed it it's hard to know how to put it right
You might try leaving it on charge for a day then try to restart with it still plugged in (worked with a moto g5 I used to have that was dead after totally discharging)
Could get the adb drivers on a pc and see if it is detectable?
Failing that I'd guess it's probably knackered I'm afraid - my poco F1 is in the same shape. "Needs a new motherboard", said a guy in a repair shop - not really worth the repair
