My screen constantly goes out of alignment.
I have to realign it 10-12 times a day and sometime it goes out by alot !
I have tried 6 different ROMS and they all have the same problems
Can anyone help ?
Thanks
yeh.. mine's like that too... except it only seems to happen when it gets a bit warm.... haven't been able to find a solution for it so far.
Did a few searches and the general consensus seems to be that it's a hardware fault (screen and digitiser) and other people have sent it off for warranty repairs.
I'm going to have problems with the warranty as I have changed the Rom many many times.
Don't know how to put the original Telstra ROM back, assuming I can even get it !
Hey guys
I am on my 2nd diamond..
the first one had huge alignment problems, so i got it replaced..
after a month, the new one started doing the same thing..
i found a thread somewhere here on XDA (for the life of me cant remember where it is now)
but it had a little solution that mixed with mine, worked!
the problem is that the screen is not sitting properly in the casing anymore, possible due to a bump in your pocket, or a fall.. this causes a certain section of the screen to be higher or lower than the rest..
place the phone flat on a desk, and open up the notes app and try to write/draw something.. see which side of the screen the line is heading towards..
now place place your thumb and a finger on diagonal sides of the screen (eg, bottom left and top right) and press down... check with the stylus if its any better... if not, try opposite sides and check again..
mine always shot up to the top right, so when i held down the top left side of the phone, it worked..
so this meant that the top right side was sitting slightly higher than the rest of the screen.
the solution is:
find a business card with sharp corners and place the edge underneath the screen (just the corner, dont shove the whole thing up there!) hehe
then slide the card up and down a few times, and then do another side of the screen... do all 4 sides but pay special attention to area where the styles was migrating towards in the notes app..
after doing this, my phone hasnt given me a days problem in 2 months now..
give feedback if this solution works for you!
my touch 3g became unresponsive at right lower corner of the screen. within a day, whole of screen became unresponsive
I have the same problem but fot the left part of the screen. Any ideas?
Yuppers. The digitizer's borked. Have it replaced, it costs some 12 Euro on eBay.
I had the same problem with my Jade. With a simple action it came back to life.I took a sharp knife and raised a bit the plastic upper cover on the Digitizer. It worked instantly.Perhaps a small quantity of air or humidity has entered between the Digitizer and the upper plastic cover. This was the problem of my Jade. When i looked on the screen with the light off i could see some shapes on it.If you can see them too, perhaps you're having the same problem.
any tutorial?
So yeah, it was more like a throw than a drop and a very bad throw too (the phone went from around my head height and managed to go around 15 feet ahead of me). Still, being lucky the only external damage the device has was some scratches on the back. The front remained unharmed, however I could not turn the screen on, the backlight would turn on but no colour appearred other than a small white crack in the corner, meaning the screen inside broke or some. The phone can still register touches, vibrate and play sound. I managed to blindly enter the pattern lock, go inside and power the phone off. So I think it's the part that produces color that broke. I would like to know how a repair of that will approximately cost and what actually broke in the phone.
Hello,
I have seen other issues here about screens fading to black, I have the same issue bu the difference is when i press on the back cover of the phone or shake it the screen works well, but after half a minute or so it fades to black starting from the outer border inwards, this happened after I dropped it on the carpet of a very low height as i was sitting on the floor at the time and it fell of my hand. Could it be something loose? Some maintenance center (Not HtC specific) told me I need a new screen but I don't know if that makes sense,
I am just troubleshooting before I start dis-assembly

I take extremely good care of my phone and one day, this thin white line horizontally ran across the screen. It bothered me but all the touch functions and screen sensitivity were in tact so I left it for a few days. When I would turn it on the bottom half of the screen would be white but I could get it to go away by touching the top half and I could touch anything under the white block too. But now I can't even do that, it does some weird flash and won't let me look at my phone at all. When the white line appeared at first I did a factory reset etc. But it didn't help. I don't know what happened to it, the screen doesn't have one crack or scratch either. So my question is what the heck is wrong with it? and if I were to replace what is wrong what would that be (screen, lcd, touch digitizer) or something I didn't list? please help!!
