I am on Unlocked bootloader currently running monx ROM 4.3 jellybean. When i flash kitkat based ROMs on my z1(C6902), the camera won't focus and neither would it take pictures. I tried the camera fixing apk method but it won't help. And this has been the case on all stock based Roms I tried(monx, iHackers 4.1, ROMAur 8.0).
The camera works fine on CM and SlimKat. Can anyone help me on this?

I don't have the phone and I am considering buying one and I have some questions
is there going to be an official kitkat for xperia SP?
I have seen custom kitkat roms, how stable are they? do they work as well as the official JB rom? (I mean ex. for htc desire, there are a lot of kitkat roms but none are as stable as the official rom (camera does not work well (videocam doesn't work at all), phone call issues, crashes, etc..)

Actually, I would put it this way, it's the same device, with just a little bit different software inside. The one with LB has a software limitation that does not let you install original android roms. Now, on most devices bootloader can be unlocked, and if your stuck with the one one that cannot, here I may be wrong, there are some versions of original android that can still be installed on such phones. However, customized stock roms work fine so you're not loosing much.
Android 5.0 (Lollipop) Bootloader and KitKat Compatibility
Everyone wants Lollipop, however it is worth considering some of the possible consequences of upgrading via OTA update.
Bootloader:
A new Bootloader (BL) will almost certainly be included in the OTA update. It is also very likely no KitKat Kernel, stock or custom will be able to boot properly with the 5.0 BL. Perhaps the Kernel DEVs can find a workaround.
Root: (ETA: Unknown)
It may take some time to gain root access on Lolipop as on other devices this has required a custom Kernel. A custom kernel itself may require kernel sources to be released - something that has taken weeks / months in the past.
Xposed Framework:
Developer has said he will wait for CyanogenMod based on Lollipop before properly starting development of an ART version of Xposed. CM12 may take a few weeks to release. Expect to do without Xposed for at least a month, probably longer since root is also required (see above.)
Custom Recovery:
This has not been an issue before, but it is always possible a new Bootloader could break compatibility with existing Custom Recoveries. Obviously, you would not be able to restore a CWM / TWRP backup without a functional custom recovery; but even then, it is unlikely you will be able to boot your KitKat backup.
Custom ROMs:
This is another area that could be affected by a new Bootloader. It is unknown if existing custom ROMs will require new Kernels / system changes in order to work with the new BL - something that could take days, weeks or months.
Performance:
Currently the performance difference between KitKat and Lollipop is unknown. If the first release of Lollipop for Android One has performance issues, you may be unable to revert back to stock KitKat.Possible solution:
Wait for a flashable zip [NOT OTA Update zip] of Stock Android One Lollipop ROM - this would mean your Bootloader remains at it's current version and potentially allowing you to change 'back and forth' between Stock KitKat and Stock Lollipop. However, it is currently unknown if the newer BL is a requirement for Android 5.0 Kernels.
This is taken from the Moto G thread and all credits goes to @lost101.The sole motive of this is to create awareness about the new bootloader included in 5.0
Thanks For The Info @DC07 :highfive:
Thanks For The Information Bruda !!
This thing is only for device like motorola, samsung etc.. As I never saw same thing for nexus.. Motorola does not allow to downgrade so they update bootloader in every android version update.. I dont think it will be same for sprout

Nope. The bootloader was updated on my nexus 7 flo for the 4.4.2 OTA. Since this update is much bigger I think we'll have a bootloader update too.

Hello everybody,
I can't find any rom based on Marshmallow for my Xperia Z C6603 Yuga with a locked bootloader .
I'm on 10.7.A.0.228 and it was quite hard to root it and install recovery without semi-brick !
I searched in these forums and on the web and can't find anything ...
Thanks for your suggestions and have a good day !
You won't find one. Marshmallow is not officially released for the Z so there is no signed Kernel by Sony.

Ok ,thanks !
So ,if I understand well ,the Xperia Z will only have 5.1.1 max. in the future for locked bootloader ?I understood Sony wouldn't update it anymore .
I've got a last question ,does anyone knows a 5.1.1 rom for locked bootloader wich can be more customisable than the stock one ?
I know it's not the good thread but it's not to open a new one and solve my "problem" !
that's easy, my friend
you can search it in Xperia Z Android Development section
for example: eXistenZ Premium 4.0.0 or XRom
cm13 for locked bootloader:

Thanks again !
I just flashed the existenZ : it's just what I was looking for !
I'll wait a little to try the CM 13 .I thought all CM based needed unlocked bootloaders .
Thanks again to you both .
DId anyone test this rom?
Thanks, and sorry for refresh of this post. :/
i've tested it a few months ago. it was fine but after 3-4 weeks it was laggy as hell, i couldn't use my phone as daily driver because of it.
Can you recommend any rom for blocked bootloader?
i'm using eXistenZ 5.1.1 now, but i'm searching for a good lbl rom too.
Hi folks, I have an Xperia SP for almost 3 years, I decided to change the ROM (finally).
So... I'm on the Android rooted 4.1.2 12.0.A.2.254 , couldn't do the upgrade to 4.3 because of my internet connetion.
I would like to know if there is a smooth and stable rom which have all things working (including the LED Bar).
Oh and on Android Kitkat or Lollipop if it is possible.
Sorry For anything I did or said wrong, I'm new here, and my English is not very good
And I never flashed a smartphone before.
Thank you !
I used lots of roms and here is the veredict:
For KitKat: Vanir ROM(the most stable and functional rom of all)
For Marshmallow(lollipop was almost abandoned by devs ): CM13 SABERMOD is reallyyyy smooth and stable.
Both worked with Discolight app...
Sorry for bad english,I'm Brazilian...

There are many ROM we have for xperia SP due to dedicated efforts of devs ..Thanks to all of them :good::highfive:
I have used most of roms and found all stable and each of them have their own characteristics & Each rom description says about stability and working features of it.
so its totally depend on you which one you want to flash.
For 6.0-6.1 based rom check below thread:-

only thing you should look for before flashing any rom is it suitable for boot-loader status or not..means if your boot loader is locked then flashing roms made for unlocked boot-loader may take you in bootloop.
What is the best solution for SP with not unlockable bootloader.
on my aunt´s SP stock firmware 4.3 JB is pretty much slow, I was looking for CM 13 first, but I cannot unlock bootloader unfortunately , then I looked for CM 12/12.1 but seems SIM is not working, so I gues, no phone calls?
Is there anyone in the same situation as me. guys what do you suggest?
