I recently bought a Galaxy Tab S2 off of eBay knowing that the device was locked with a pin. The seller owned a pawn shop and had gotten the device without getting the pin from the owner. I bought it thinking that it would be an easy fix. So when I got it I factory reset it and got to the FRP screen. I actually didn't know about FRP before this, so I googled how to bypass it.
...Fastforward to the present and I've now tried a ton of different methods which I've had no success with so far. Either they're outdated or they require a SIM card to be used, which this tablet being a WIFI only model, can't do. I've spent a lot of time trying to search for an up-to-date method to bypass the FRP without needing a SIM card, but have yet to find one. So I'm sort of getting desperate now..
Has anyone experienced this same problem or have any ways to bypass the FRP on a wifi-only device? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
Argh. I'm stuck in the same situation. I just used ODIN to reflash the stock firmware thinking that might do the trick, but no joy. OTG cable doesn't do anything, and methods that rely on camera exploit don't work because the camera option doesn't show up. I was unaware of the FRP "feature" before purchasing the used device; had I known, I probably could have coordinated with the seller to set it up with a dummy/throwaway account, but that ship has now sailed.
Yeah I also tried ODIN and the stock firmware to no avail :/. I'm not sure if rooting then flashing a custom ROM would work or not, but I'm thinking of just reselling it again if there's no other way to bypass it. I really don't want to mess it up more. This whole thing's just a pain..

If you're referring to his method that exploits the dialer, yes I've tried that. But since this is a wifi-only tablet, it has no dialer. So the commands to bring it up do nothing.

Yeah, I've actually tried that multiple times, and each time nothing pops up on the tablet when I start sidesync and plug it in. The drivers are installed (the tablet shows up on the computer) and I've tried reinstalling them each time, even from different sources. I honestly don't know what the reason for that not working is, unless it has to do with Marshmallow, since this is the 2016 version of this tablet (comes with Marshmallow instead of Lollipop).

Depends on which build of MM you have installed. Likely hood is the method got patched somewhere along the way.
So your best bet to increase chances of success is to downgrade to the earliest version of mm you can find.

That's what I had figured which is what caused me to look for the oldest version I could install and found out that the oldest version was already installed. I even tried re-installing it to see if that would do anything, but to no avail. :/
Edit: Keep forgetting you have wifi only version!
You can use the tab S2, it works on my tablet!
Hi, don't get frustrated. You still can use the tablet, but you'll need a smartphone with mobile data and turn on the "Mobile hotspot". Follow through the FRP-removal steps for wifi-only-tablet S2 that you can find on Youtube (sorry I cannot type the Youtube video link as per XDA rules because I'm a newbie) ... until you create a 4-digit PIN. After you create the 4-digit PIN, you turn off the tablet and turn it on again.
When the tablet is on again and "Enter PIN" appears, don't worry if you don't see the camera icon on the display. What you need is the USER icon (what I mean is that "human face" icon which is located on the TOP RIGHT CORNER). Click that "human face" icon, then you'll see "Add user" so click on that "Add user". Follow through as a new user, you'll need to create a Samsung account or if you have one already you'll need to log into your Samsung account.
You'll have 2 users, you may not be able to erase the first one you entered when you created the 4-digit PIN. You may not be able to totally remove the previous Google account synced/locked to the tablet. But, you can use the tablet 100%.

Hi, don't get frustrated. I understand your tablet is wifi only and without a dialler. Removing Google Account Lock from wifi-only Samsung Tab S2
Today I found a way to totally remove the previous-google-account lock from my wifi-only Tab S2. I bought the Tab S2 off eBay and Samsung service center couldn't help me. You don't need to root your tab, what you need is a smartphone with mobile data on and you put the smartphone next to the Tab S2 (the Mobile hotspot is important to control the Internet connection of the Tab S2 which needs speedy finger action).
Here is how:
[1] Because I'm a newbie here in XDA, I cannot insert a Youtube link or any other outside link. But you have to find a Youtube video that shows how to bypass FRP on a Tab S2 that leads you to create a 4-digit PIN on the Tab S2. Find the video. Actually there are several videos, not only one, just find one and watch and follow through the steps. Don't worry if his screen shows the camera icon while your screen does not. Don't worry, the camera icon is not that important.
Note: your need of smartphone with mobile data ends here. For the next steps, you should rely on wifi (cheaper) instead of mobile data.
[2] After you create a 4-digit PIN on the Tab S2, turn it off. Then turn it on again, enter the 4-digit PIN and let the Tab goes into the Welcome screen again. Then don't touch anything, waaaait a while until the screen goes dark ... wait a little bit, then press the Home button. You'll see the "Enter PIN" again but just ignore it, what you need the USER ICON (that "human face" icon which is located at the TOP RIGHT CORNER). Click that "human face" icon, then you'll see "Add user" so click on that "Add user". Follow through all the steps as a new user (use wifi connection), and you'll need to log into your Samsung account (if you don't have a Samsung account, you can create one; there's no need to put your real name or date of birth if you don't want to, what you need is a valid email of your own which is important to verify your Samsung account by email).
You should remember the 4-digit PIN.
Up to this point, you'll have 2 users but only 1 is actually usable. And up to this point, you have not removed the previous Google account synced/locked to the tablet. But, you can use the tablet 100%.
Note: if you only want to use your Tab S2 (not to remove the Google account lock), following steps [1] and [2] are suffice.
If you want to totally remove the Google account lock from the Tab S2, follow the next steps.
[3] Again because I'm newbie, I cannot insert any URL in my message. There are 2 URLs that are extremely important. Because of this, please find a Youtube video that shows how to bypass FRP (Google account lock) with Realterm. Watch through the video but don't do anything you see on video ... UNTIL the video shows that Google-locked phone SUCCESSFULLY GETS TO A BROWSER. When you see that the "demo person" successfully gets the Google-locked phone to a browser, follow all the steps as instructed.
In other words:
[3] OK, if you follow steps [1] and [2], you should be able to connect to the Internet using wifi. It is important to connect to wifi. You go to "Galaxy Apps" on the Tab S2, and in the "Search" you type: ES File Explorer. Install that ES File Explorer ... if any prompt appears notifying you need to change all the settings, then change all the necessary settings (turning ON the "Unknown sources") until you are able to download the ES File Explorer.
[3A] If you don't see "Galaxy Apps" on the Tab S2, don't worry. Connect your Tab S2 to wifi. Go to a browser (on Tab S2), type "Samsung Galaxy Apps" and when the browser shows some results click on the Samsung "Levant" website and find the clickable "Samsung GALAXY Apps". Click that "Samsung GALAXY Apps" to download. You need to logi into your Samsung account. gAfter "Samsung GALAXY Apps" is downloaded, you open it and in the "Search" you type: ES File Explorer. Install that ES File Explorer ... if any prompt appears notifying you need to change the settings, then change all the necessary settings (such as turning ON the "Unknown sources") until you can download the ES File Explorer.
[4] So the Tab S2 should now have the ES File Explorer downloaded. Open it. If an upgrade notification shows up, you can choose to upgrade it or ignore it. It doesn't matter.
[5] With ES File Explorer open, you have to find "Favorite". Where is this "Favorite" located? If you choose to upgrade the ES File Explorer, the "Favorite" is clearly seen on the left pane. If you choose not to upgrade ES File Explorer, look for the "half globe + smartphone" icon at the TOP LEFT CORNER and you'll see "Favorite".
[6] Under "Favorite" you click "+ Add". Remember, you will have to ADD 2 things (not only 1) but you'll do one by one, steps [7] and [8] are very important.
Note: apologies I cannot type the path name in steps [7] and [8], this is because I'm a newbie and I'm not allowed as per XDA rules. Find the answer from a Youtube video that shows FRP removal using Realterm, e.g. the video by MegaSun Fjord).
[7] When you click "+ Add", a window will pop up. Key in the following:
[] In the "Path:" you type: [find the answer from a Youtube video that shows FRP removal using Realterm]
[] In the "Name:" whatever but one suggestion is you type: bypass
After you key in, you click on "Add".
Then find again the "Favorite" and under "Favorite" you click the "+ Add".
[8] When you click "+ Add", a window will pop up. Key in the following:
[] In the "Path:" you type: [find the answer from a Youtube video that shows FRP removal using Realterm]
[] In the "Name:" whatever but one suggestion is you type: gam (or Google Account Manager)
After you key in, you click on "Add".
Up to this point, you have added 2 things into "Favorite" but you have not installed them. The next step is to install them.
Note: apologies I cannot type the path name in steps [7] and [8], this is because I'm a newbie and I'm not allowed as per XDA rules. Find the answer from a Youtube video that shows FRP removal using Realterm, e.g. the video by MegaSun Fjord).
[9] Go to "Favorite" again, under "Favorite" you'll see "gam" (that you just created in step [8]). Click on "gam", then click on "Android_6_GAM.apk" to download it. After download is done, tap your finger anywhere on the screen to exit.
[10] Go to "Favorite" again, under "Favorite" you'll see "bypass" (that you just created in step [7]). Click on "bypass", then click on "com.rootjunky.frpby...." then click "Download" and click on "Open file" then click on "Install" then click on "Open".
[11] You'll see a white screen with "Retype password". Ignore it, don't type any password here. What you need to look for is the "3 vertical dots" at the TOP RIGHT CORNER. Click on the "3 vertical dots" and you'll see "Browser sign-in", so click on this "Browser sign-in" and click on "OK".
[12] You'll see a white screen with "Sign In" and "Google" and "Sign-in with your Google Account". Key in your own Google account and its password. You'll sign into your own Google account successfully.
[13] Afterwards, you'll be able to go to do properly remove all the (previous) user account/data by performing "Factory data reset" (Settings > Backup and reset > Factory data reset).
[14] When the Tab S2 finishes the boot and enters into the Welcome page, the Google account lock is already removed.

[] In the "Name:" whatever but one suggestion is you type: gam (or Google Account Manager)
After you key in, you click on "Add".

---------- Post added at 11:30 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:15 AM ----------
Today I found a way to totally remove the previous-google-account lock from my wifi-only Tab S2.
But you have to find a Youtube video that shows how to bypass FRP on a Tab S2 with help of a smartphone (Mobile hotspot), this video will guide you to create a 4-digit PIN on the Tab S2. Youtube hint: "How to Remove/Bypass previously synced email on samsung device" video by Plans Study.
Youtube hint: "Remove / Bypass Google Account (FRP) For Samsung Galaxy Device (SIM realterm method) October Update" video by MegaSun Fjord.

Find the answer from a Youtube video that shows FRP removal using Realterm, e.g. the Remove / Bypass Google Account (FRP) For Samsung Galaxy Device (SIM realterm method) October Update" video by MegaSun Fjord.
[7] When you click "+ Add", a window will pop up. Key in the following:
[] In the "Path:" you type: [find the answer from a Youtube video that shows FRP removal using Realterm]

After you key in, you click on "Add".

I'm wondering why that post has been repeated so many times! Anywhoo, for Tab S2 713/813 it's wifi only. Secondly, the keyboard workaround was patched... now, I'm thinking if there's an older version of MM available firmware BEFORE the patch was fixed, OR there's a firmware that has no Samsung keyboard, (or even touchwiz) then the google keyboard could be accessed... as for me, I've got the T813 model, and had flashed so many variations of firmware/bootloaders/and boot images, that I've lost what should have been my original factory reset. I now have what looks like a Russian firmware, but at least it boots to the google account frp, but I still cannot get past this point, back to square one! Anyone know of a USA firmware, as old as possible? EU firmares left me with no wifi, so I need USA (or Canadian?) I'm so sick of false URL's, and endless ads!

This is the oldest I've seen. Don't know if it can help you...
Please tell me how you successfully flashed that Russian firmware. I have another "sick" T813 with its FRP lock on, always bootloops [cannot boot to Google-Account-Lock], I cannot hard-reset and in Recovery Mode it says 2 things "dm-verity verification failed.." and "E: failed to mount /system (Invalid argument)". In Download Mode, the T813's FRP lock rejects any T813 firmware.
Kindly please tell me how to flash that Russian firmware. Thanks a lot.

dama0002, I know this thread is almost a year old, but I have to confirm that as of July 9th at 6pm CST, your method worked. I tried all versions, but the dialer function doesn't work on this tablet. I'm rocking a SM-T377A (AT&T Tab E) and it works. So that let's me know that any Samsung tablet on 6.0.1 should work the same. Even though you can get in with the second profile, it doesn't take much to use teh FRP apks, and reset the tablet again. No OTG, SideSync, drivers, or RealTerm needed. Just need a mobile hotspot (or some type of way to shut off your Wifi connection. I found this solution, but didn't want to read. But thanks to your THOROUGH apporach, it worked beautifully, the FIRST time. I would make a video, but the post works jsut as well.

In the past we were able to get to our GPS settings by opening dialer and dialing the following number. This will not call anyone - it is a code shortcut to the settings:
*#*#1472365#*#*
However, under Froyo 2.2 rooted with SU access, I am unable to get to LBSTESTMODE
I am having issues with my GPS not locking, it started after I rooted the Froyo. I was informed rooting is not what caused the problem in another thread....so been googling to fix the issue and ran into the old code above
Please advice

There is an app in the market called lbstestmode that works. The dial pad # to enter lbstestmode disappeared in jh7 and was still missing in ji6.
When I go to the market, the app is unavailable to me. I then went to the apps website and tried to get it to download using the samsung captivate browser but it kicked me back to same thing on the Apps Market
So, I am thinking is it possible somewhere in process of my upgrading and rooting the phone got locked accidently since I am new to the whole process of understanding development? (I have superuser access and ability to eliminate apps using titanium back up so its more of an elimination of issues question)
Regards

If you mean LbsTestModeLaunch, this was actually removed per Samsung's request.
As an alternative, you can download "Any Cut" from the Market, then create an activity shortcut for LbsTestMode.

There seems to be 2 "Any Cut" apps - to be clear, the one I'm using is by "Jeff Hamilton."
In Any Cut, select New Shortcut, then Activity. It may take a while to load... Scroll and find LbsTestMode, then tap OK. You should now have a shortcut in your home screen.

Thank you for your response. You have lit a path to enlightment for me ;-)
I found and created it. I will post my ability to resolve my GPS issue in next 24 hrs as I am now few beers down......with Oakland Raiders having a close game with San Diego Chargers.....
Regards,
So I was able to access the LbsTestMode based on instruction given and was able to fo through the following steps of "old instructions" that I was able to google......pasted below
•Step 1 -- Open menu > settings > Location & Security. Uncheck the box next to "Use Wireless Networks"
•Step 2 --follow the procedure in the "advice posted in comments above"
•Step 3 -- In the LBSTestMode menu, press “Application Settings” and change “Operation Mode” to “MS Based.”
•Step 4 -- In the LBSTestMode menu, find “SUPL/CP Settings” and change the SERVER & PORT to supl.google.com and port 7276 (DO NOT use www. in front of supl !)
•Step 5 -- Reboot your phone.
•Step 6 -- Open menu > settings > Location & Security. Check the box next to "Use Wireless Networks"
After follwing the steps above still no go? I used an app called GPS test to verify my location
Please advice
Regards,
Turn off SUPL Secure Socket as well. I am using AGPS Mode Control Plane. I've used both, this is where I've set it of late. Also, run the Get Position Test and see if it can lock on a position. Try to do this where you'll get a strong signal from many satellites (i.e., outside). Then leave LbsTestMode running, hit Home and open Maps. See if it can find your location. It should locate you assuming you got a good lock in LBSTestMode.
I've been openingLBSTestMode first and I leave it running in the background and then open Navigation. I haven't yet determined whether this has an actual benefit, is just a habit I don't want to break, or my own superstition, but that's what I do. There was discussion that some of the LbsTestMode settings don't persist after closing LbsTestMode, so this is one way to make sure the settings remain active.
The code in froyo is *#*#3214789650#*#*
this code doesn't seem to be disseminated too widely on the forums, spread the word
Thanks you all who responded on my issue. My issue has now been resolved
I was able to update my location and GPS is working fine

FWIW - the above didn't work in my 2.2'd Galaxy S, nor did the older code. I eventually got the Any Cut app (great!) and followed the instructions.
For the last 2 weeks, since the 2.2 update, I was basically unable to get any GPS lock. I did manage once - and it took 15 minutes, with 8 to 10 satellites available.
Now, with 2 or 3, I'm getting a lock in a few seconds.
If the main problem is that the web location setting for info is just flat-out wrong, why doesn't T-Mob just issue a fix for that? It seems very strange to me that this would continue to be an issue months after the rollout began.
Umm, there is SGS Tools in the Themes &Apps section that will allow access to it.

After this change, Google Maps = total crash???
So I did the change, and thought things were good. But about 3 out of 4 times, when trying to start Google Maps, it freezes, then the screen goes completely black, and there is a vibration-buzz, a pause, and two more buzzes. The phone appears totally dead. Only pulling the battery wakes it up.
To be clear, I changed the URL and port, and disabled the secure socket mode, as described in this thread. There was also and update of google maps received, which claims to have installed successfully.
So now GPS is great, but the main app I use it with is defunct.

[Q] "package loader" doesn't allow "Install" option after update to 904
First of all, I've searched the forums and looked at the various topics it shows when I typed in the title for this post - definitely not a nube, I've flashed, bricked, unbricked, bricked, unbricked my phone 3 or 4 times, but this one has me stumped! Bare with me, I'm Danish, but I speak pretty good English... Mods - if this isn't where it should be, please publicly admonish me and put it where it should go.
Curious one: after I flashed my phone to 904, I now can't update anything "sideloaded" from Amazon or Slide-Me because the "package loader" (APK installer) refuses to let the "Install" button work. "Cancel" works just fine, of course.
(and yes, I know - now there's a 905 out there - but first things first, I've tried even after installing a 'virgin' 902 using Moto-Fastboot, but I got an assert failure on MTD:Boot)
I re-rooted my phone after flashing using "Motofail", which gave me access to all my backups and even though my ClockwordMod backup said the MD5 has didn't match I used Titanium Backup to try to extract files from it - and found that the MD5 doesn't match because there is no MD5 file there at all.
I was able to use the various options in Titanium Backup to replace all my apps, but at this point every time I try to install anything that's not from Google's Play Store I get to the point where the installer asks be to "Install" or "Cancel" and the install button appears available (not greyed out), but it doesn't work.
Has anybody else seen this? Can you tell me how you get around it, or what I need to do to fix it (other than trying to flash 905)??
One more thing: this new "Screen locked" button keeps showing up on my screen that was never there before - and it doesn't always ask me to swipe my pattern if that button is there. I've got Launcher Pro installed, JuiceDefender Ultimate and an alternative swipe screen, which I've already check, double-checked and triple-checked the configuration files for what might be causing the "Screen Locked" button to appear.
Update: the "No Install button working" problem just went away after two days - I didn't do a thing (that I know about). Weird - I've had this happen once before. Anyone have a guess as to the security lock bypass where it won't require my pattern to unlock, just a tap on the "Click to unlock" button? I have my security set to require a password any time the screen is turned off, so - that's my first guess, but setting it to "One minute" (same as the screen timer) does nothing, so I changed it back. I really do NOT like the idea of it just letting anyone pick it up and bypass my security lock! I know most people prefer it the other way (stay unlocked for a certain period of time without requiring you to keep putting you lock code/pattern in), but if I turn the screen off, I want it to prompt me for my pattern lock every time.
Found my own answer...
OK, not to the one about why "Package Installer" refused to work for a few days, but why I'm not getting the screen lock every time I turn my screen off any more:
It's "JuiceDefender Ultimate" - you need to set 's' ("Screen off") = 'l' ("Lock") time in the sliders under the "Timeout" settings on the Controls tab, and have your main settings set to lock on "screen off" instead of timed. The 'h' ("Home") setting in that same slider seems to have no effect on my device - anybody else observe differently? One things that always disappears when you flash is JuiceDefender's settings, even if you backup and later restore from /SDCARD or /SDCARD-EXT partitions. I don't know why - I suppose the subject for another question at some time in the future.
By the way, running the latest flash-only on device overclock to 1.2GHz (well, you do have to have Rummy's Toolbox so you can drop to Terminal mode and futz with the file) is the BOMB!!! Bio-***** is screaming along at 1.2GHz whenever I need the power. I'm in like (again)...
For the curious - it's right here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1594804
Hello People.
I have a "Milestone 1" and the digitizer that walketh not more, that's why the screen does not respond at all.
So what I did was reconfigure some qwerty keyboard keys in order to add features not granted the touch. Now the phone works well, but the screen works just as only "monitor".
Well, my problem is this, I can not update the Rom, because I can not activate the google account when you restart the phone, as it tells you "touch the android to begin", but obviously I can not do! And really, update the Rom and not have allowed google account, it makes no sense!
Try "titanium backup pro", and nothing!
What would be the name of the apk for activation of the account, to see if I have the backup that I can copy your data and so solve the problem! Listen options!
Regards
Using the arrow pad and the keyboard, try to pressing the down or side keys until the android is outlines in a highlight, then click the select button.
After upgrading to 6.0, i tried to turn on Now On Tap.
I know where the setting is- when i slide it to "on", I get the popup that says "Want any help with any screen? Turn on Now on Tap". When i click "get started" the slider goes back to off.
Anyone else seeing this?

I'm having the same issue with my Nexus 9. Can't find any solutions. I flashed the factory image twice now and wiped everything but the problem persists. :crying:
Getting it on Nexus 5
Working fine for me. Haven't done anything special. Just enabled it. Hit okay. Tried it out in Chrome. Went back to settings and still toggled on.

Okay, found it!
Apparently I can't use my Google App account ([email protected]) with Now on Tap. It works when I switched to my Google account ([email protected]). Hope that helps.
I'm having this problem too, and like you, I have a Google Apps account I'm using for my phone (I own the domain, and am the administrator). I'm going to have to look into this; either it may not be enabled for Google domains yet, or, it may have to be turned on, something I just found out with Google Maps (which was turned off in my Apps, so I couldn't access it until I turned it on).
I'll take a look, and if I find something, I'll post back.

Okay, here is what I found for Google Apps for Domain Users.
For Google Now On Tap to work, the Web History service must be turned on in your Google Apps Domain. However, finding this is a real pain. Here is what to do:
The problem is the "x" to remove the filter is all the way on the right (in chrome).
1. Log In to your Google Apps admin control panel
2. At the bottom of your dashboard click on "More Controls", then "Apps"
3. Click "Additional Google Services"
4. Remove the Filter "Top Featured Services" by clicking on the "x" on the upper right side.
5. Scroll to the bottom and find Web History
6. Click the "On" Button
a. Select for all users; or
b. If you have various organizational units select which organizational unit
I am told this may take a bit to trickle down to one's phone (sometimes up to 24 hours to all users in the domain). I have made the change myself, but have not been able to turn Now On Tap on yet. However, others have reported this as what does the trick.
If I had not found this through a Google community thread, I'd have no idea how to do it. It's certainly convoluted and the admin control panel doesn't make it easy to find, nor would I have had any idea that this was the fix. I'll update everyone with my results once I've had time to see if the change takes effect.
ADDITIONAL NOTE: If you do not have the following setting enabled on your phone, you cannot turn on Now On Tap:
Settings->Search & Now->Accounts & Privacy->Google Activity Controls->Web & App Activity must be set to ON.
Hi,
I setup my Samsung Account and it says under services that I have Find My Mobile.
I go to the find my mobile website and login and it has my 2 other Galaxy Tab Tablets listed but not my phone.
I look at setup tutorials and the say goto lock screen and security but my settings has a "Lockscreen" and a "Biometrics and Security" sub menu.
Under the Biometrics and Security there is a Find My Device which is set to on and when I tap that I get a page that has the slider for on and below it it says ways to locate device:
options are:
Find my Device
get it on google play
Web
Visit android.com/finf
Google Search "find my Device"
What is going on?
I am a little freaked out.
As I understand it if you use lock like pattern lock that through Samsung's Find My Mobile site you can reset the login if you run into trouble. I almost did run into trouble right after I finish setting the Note 9 up after 3 hours, I restarted it when I put in my Memory Card and my pattern was not working. Got to where I had 3 tries left. I turned it off reset the sim card and the memory card in the holder and it worked. There have been other times where it did not recognize the pattern once or twice but did finally. Not sure if with the curved screen my hand was touching the screen and that caused a problem or what but. I need the phone locked and I need Samsung's Find My Mobile with it's unlocking feature for piece of mind.
One article on seting it up a comment said they were told it was not available on the Verizon version. True not true?
What am I doing wrong to set it up.
I had lookout installed but removed that.
I also have Teamviewer Host and the Samsung Host Plugin for Teamviewer installed is that interfering?
I need a fallnback way to unlock if the initial one fails.
Thank You.
