Hi. I read that Mi4 camera has the ability to set the exposure to 32s and that's really important for me because of night photography. I am able to go only up to 2s with Mi3. So I was wondering is it possible to change the camera on my Mi3 with Mi4 camera? I know hardware of Mi3 and Mi4 is very similar and roms for Mi4 work on Mi3 too, so do you think that could be possible?

Not possible, the camera module in both phones are different. The long exposure of 32s is only supported by Mi4 camera module

Well yes, I was talking of replacing camera module, not the camera app. Because Mi4 roms work on Mi3 and reverse, I think it wouldn't be a hardware or software problem and it should work. Or am I wrong?

I'm not sure, but I think you have to do that on Miui. There's a menu on the rom which lets you calibrate several sensors, ois calibration can be in there.. But you should give more details about ROM installed and which was the previous ROM and how you did the update and so on...
Also, you could test this app, I actually never used it: https://github.com/dobragab/Mi5CameraCalibrate/releases
Guys i am from india and bought this few days back
Its snappy nice body built but camera quality is bad
Is there another app thay i can use instead of stock camera or are there particular settings in camera app like auto exposure or contrast or sharpness thati should change plz do tell
No root just wanna improve picture quality of camera here
Is it possible?
It's only you, this device's camera is the best at this price tag... Try to flash latest fastboot image again, maybe it solves your problem
"Camera quality is bad" ??
I'd suggest looking at the many various reviews of this device. Almost all of them rave about the camera and have sample pictures (which are outstanding).
What makes you think the quality is bad?
The camera of this phone is the one thing that is far better than the price. Must be something wrong with your unit. The quality is good. Very good.
I'm not satisfied with stock camera also, try this two camera apps.

you should not be asking in every android pie thread, if there was a port for the mi5 in android pie there would be in the app section, gcam is quite good, better than the miui camera in my opinion, but please stop asking on any thread or port it yourselves

It's okay of there is no MIUI camera port. I still can use moment for photo, Gcam for video and Nokia kamera for all. What i need is manual camera such on MIUI. Because i like their manual mod:fingers-crossed:

try the oneplus camera for manual mode, it's quite great at least in oreo
MIUI camera was great
I have to agree that MIUI camera, at least in latest Global dev was great. Neither one come close to it, at least for manual control over exposure, iso etc. I'm also in a strugle to find a good camera, tested all of them, but nothing comes close. I'm on LOS 16.
Is it possible to use the low-light camera as the default one so 3rd parties like GCam can work with it?
Just use night view or manual but why you want to do that? More megapixel won't mean better camera just larger image

It actually means brighter photo in low light. The megapixel count might be higher, but it uses pixel binning to give 5 MP output, but a better low light image.
I think the reputed devs owning MI A2 here should develop some patches or modules to use second camera with GCam.
- Mi A1 has got it done with the telephoto lens
- One plus 5 got it with almost similar config as MI A2. Its secondary lens is low light, and uses same pixel binning like MI A2.
All we can do is hope that some dev researches a bit on this and gets this working on our device too. I'm very sure that its possible since GCam has made its way to triple lens switching already.
Hello everyone,
I am so upset buying this Redmi Note 11 (spes) , everything exept camera is fine.
Do you know how to get better output from camera ?
Been facing same prob. I hear GCam looks better.

Yesterday I have found out (on my Redmi Note 11 with Superior-OS) that the pixelation / blur in photos (I thought it's caused by ****ty Camera app / driver) might be resolved by using better Gallery app:

It has fixed the quality / speed of the picture rendering -- during scolling & zooming of a picture (subway map) I have seen pixelated / blurred areas (for > 1sec) and I thought it's a camera problem. But when I used another gallery app, it was pixelated only for maybe 0.5sec and then it got perfectly sharp.
I mean it's not Windows so it doesn't show you the icon (when the app is busy and the user should wait) -- so I was not sure whether the app is busy rendering or not.
I noticed camer on the redmi is not as good as the camera on my MiA2. I am hoping gcam will fix that but I will have to use the stock camera app sometimes for pro mode.

I have noticed the "auto" picture with gcam is way better than the auto setting on the stock app. Using the pro mode on the stock app though I can get a more realistic picture by adjusting white balance etc manually but the image still isn't as crisp as gcam. Night mode on gcam is amazing too.
Can't seem to get the 50mp to work on gcam so can't compare that. I use the 50mp feature to take pictures of signs or large blocks of text, I can definitely get better clarity when zooming in but I wouldn't call it a great looking picture. Luckily that isn't why I bought the phone.
The camera doesn't knock out true 50mp photos , they pixels are arranged in groups of 4 so 4 small ones make up one bigger one hence the 12.5mp photos . 50mp photos are just enlarged 12.5 ones really . And You may notice a lot of versions of gcam are knocking out 8mp photos too , try the version I posted in the gcam thread with the XML ( it's got an agc extension for some reason ) . It produces 12.5s and it's the sharpest gcam I've seen yet , although white balance is a bit off it can easily be corrected in Snapseed
And tbh I'm starting to think this phone is a dog , phone call volume seems pretty low compared to my old x3 NFC . That with the Bluetooth audio dropouts , crappy camera .. only good thing about it is the screen lol
I am happy for now, aside from the camera it's still an upgrade from my MiA2 and it cost me less than a decent dinner in a restaurant.
