Hello,
I am completely new to XDA and want some information about the CyanogenMod before I try it. I have the Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 (Model: E15i) running on Android 2.1-update-1 and I am getting bored of it so I researched about customisations and launchers etc...Eventually I found out about the CyanogenMod and checked out reviews and it was all good. Now I am thinking of trying it out-but first I need some information of it's features and how it works specifically with the X8.
Below I will list the main features I am looking for could anyone confirm them that Cyanogen 7.1 has them on the X8.
- Multitouch/Dualtouch
- Email
- Web browser
- Android Market + Apps *VERY IMPORTANT*
- Other standard features that most smartphones have (e.g. camera app)...
In addition does CyanogenMod 7.1 work properly on the Xperia X8-what I mean to say is that is it stable and are there any major bugs/drawbacks?

What do you mean by need OC for better gaming?
Is the CM 7.1 stable on the X8? Also is there a safe step by step walkthrough on how to install it, if yes can someone provide the link.

Yes to all,except multitouch. By default, out X8's hardware is not capable for dual touch. Most roms have managed to fake a dual touch which you can use in the web browser or the photos.
Cyanogen has all these features you mention, it's like having a normal rom plus some extras...
Yes it is stable.Very. As for the link, you go to www.cyanogenmod.com, you choose your devide and install the rom.There are threads here explaining how to root, install xrecovery and then install the rom you want.

hello, i have a little problem with my x8. i have make it dualtouch but when i turn off my phone and turn it on again, the dualtouch function is gone. i must use the terminal emulator to make the dualtouch happen again. can i make the dualtouch function directly after i on my phone back??? Use root explorer and go to System/etc and open a file called hw_config.sh in R/W mode. Then whatever you typed into terminal to activate dual touch, enter that into the file. For example if you have synaptics you would go to the bottom and type insmod system/lib/modules/x8gesture.ko and save.

After u enter the rom,
1. press sound button to active phone sound. dont forget to active Alarm sound..
2. go to location services and select all to active weather widget

still working on reducing memory using.
compared with shendu rom, shendu team rewrited the base code already got the memory 170+ free.
but cm10 just get less 130 free. a lot work to do haha

using this ROM, and its nice experience .... any way, we have to admit that if we want to use JB on our device then we have use our phone with minimum apps in order keep it lag free ...

however. the mainstream ram is 2GB， its hard for 512MB phones. even we can just use 340MB out of it.

Are you kidding me?!! Of course XDA allows modifying roms! That's a really weird question..
Anyway isn't this one of those chinese roms that are based on MIUI? If it is then it shouldn't be impossible to use that tool that's out there for MIUI to add languages?
Also it's using TW as base, not AOSP, right?

Had HTC m8 and was told off by admins because I used ryio9u miui Rom and modified it.
Even tho I gave credits etc.
A user reported saying I didn't get permission. And thread was closed.
Even tho I done same thing here on s5 plus if you search xda, miui by ryio9u has been modified for alot of devices by numerous users. Didn't understand what I did wrong. But hey ho

Installed the rom on my g900f. It boots to the white iuni bootscreen, but the phone restarts and goes to a bootloop. Tried to reinstall, but still not working. Any solutions?

If you on the g900f then no kernel needs to be flashed. Recovery issue sorted
If on other variants of s5 then the flash will fail.

I got the same problem. I used to have 5.0 too, but i did a clean wipe. Do i have to do something else too? The rom is still not booting.

you need to clean flash if your coming from other rom.
Is camera with flash working well ?

The project is not mine, at the end of the post has the original link. And yes the download link is working, I downloaded it from the computer normally so I shared it.
Could someone please upload to mega? I finally managed to get the original download page to work but it fails after about 5 minutes and can't go more than 50b/s....

Better to do a clean installation to get bugged.
No Matter, after uninstalling substratum ans a theme, it was dirty flashable

Thanks but it's 6.0 source, useless for nougat roms...
Just installed this ROM, everything seems to be working fine but I got one problem. This might be driver related, but it used to work in stock ROM. The problem is I cant connect to my win10 laptop to transfer files. When I connect USB and choose transfer file option in my phone, it keeps reconnecting and File Explorer starts popping up the folder and closing it again... Anyone know how to fix this?

That looks like drivers related on your Windows 10... Try to update the drivers on Windows...
On linux manjaro function all ok

Its fixed, I had to enable usb debugging and now it connects just fine.

Still got 2 more questions, I couldent find these options:
- Is it possible to disable vibrations during alarm?
- How to reset to stock button behavior. Like 2 times tap for 'recent apps' for example. Because the current swipe the button right to left doesnt work for me half the times..

Flash zip in recovery - Do you mean the stock recovery? Do I need to do boot unlocked or something for this work?
Do you want me to flash the zip file directly from stock recovery on my untouched device?

Do i need to re-flash vanilla rom before i proceed with your rom, or do i just follow your instructions ?

ROM Version: 3.3
Using this rom from last one week, so far the experience is good. The rom is very smooth and no crashes at all, the rom is full of lot of flagship features which are not part of M21's stock rom. WIFI Calling, Link to Windows, Dual Messenger, AppLock access and other stuff are working perfectly and top of that It comes with the latest security patch which is a great thing. WIFI, and Bluetooth audio is working flawlessly. The UI is smooth and fast as much as stock experience.
Comparing battery backup of this rom with stock is not justice. However, one full recharge gives you upto 24 to 42 hours of good backup, where WIFI was active all the time and use WhatsApp, EMail, Telegram and other texting applications.
The Only thing I was missing in this rom was the Samsung's built-in "Manage App Data" feature but I believe it has been removed by Samsung itself in Android 11. Still, one should definitely give it a try to experience the joy of a good custom rom.

No Need To Flash Vanilla Rom Before
Just flash it in recovery (follow instructions)
It have less ram usage a little bit but i will improve performance without debloat too much
