Stuck in fastboot, please help!

I can't get out of fastboot. Even if I restart my phone...
I was following these instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2182823
and and I rebooted it said <bootloader> [ERR] Command error !!!
Now whenever I reboot the phone via the fastboot option "REBOOT" it just goes back to fastboot. My phone is "relocked" now...
I don't know how to get out of this loop. I go to bootloader > recovery and my phone just restarts real fast back into fastboot....

[URGENT] Phone Stuck in Fastboot !!! Can't Reboot !!! Can't RUU

I was running my rom fine an hour ago, until I decided to try and reboot into recovery to make a backup. Instead of recovery, I ended up in bootloader. I then tried to enter recovery through the menu. It rebooted into bootloader and flashed the "3 Skating Androids" in the middle of the screen. I then tried to simply restart, and it did the same. All buttons did this. I then tried to run the RUU, and lock the bootloader from command prompt. I entered "fastboot oem lock", and it returned the following:
Code:
(bootloader) [ERR] Cmd18 polling status timed out, MCI_STATUS: 0x4C2000
(bootloader) [ERR] sdcc_command: sdcc_poll_status error, rc: 2

I am unable to relock the bootloader, therefore I am unable to return to stock. I can't boot, and I have no way of recovering. I am sick and tired of these situations with my phone. What on earth could I possibly do to fix this ****?!
Your bootloader is unlocked correct? Do you have S-off? You can flash the RUU without re locking the bootloader if you have S-off.

Try reading through this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2633276 . And you can find more instructions and information here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2632351 . I had a hard time getting it done, I was HBOOT 1.57, but firewater is what got it done for me.

Thanks for trying to help. But my device appears to softbricked. I don't have access to my operating system, so S-OFF is not even remotely possible. Anyone else have any possible solutions?
I am pretty sure the term soft bricked means you can still boot into your bootloader. Hold down the power and volume down buttons until it gets there, mine took 20+ seconds when I was soft bricked. From your bootloader you can flash a recovery and then you should be able to get S-off. If you can't get into recovery or the bootloader I don't know what else to tell you.

Unfortunately I cannot boot into recovery. Every time I hit an option, the bootloader restarts. I will try leaving my phone turned off for the next day, to see if draining the circuits does anything.

If you can get into the bootloader you should be good to flash a recovery through fastboot. Try looking at this link, get all the correct files for your phone and computer, and look towards the end of the page where it talks about download via fastboot, this is what you need to do. http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/164 . After you get the TWRP installed, you will be able to sideload a rom from there.

As I said earlier, I am unable to boot into recovery. I've tried CWM, TWRP, and stock. Every time I try to use a command, I get an error. I get "FAILED (remote: image update error)" every time I try to flash a recovery. It's like my fastboot mode is broken. I also tried booting directly into recovery with "fastboot boot twrp.img" but this didn't work, and just froze the device.

What stock recovery are you using ?
Here's the steps I would take
from bootloader choose shut down
wait about 5 min reboot to the bootloader fastboot USB
then fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
now flash Stock recovery
fastboot flash recovery stock_recovery.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
now enter stock recovery (power + volume up after you choose it in the bootloader)
when you see the menu choose factory reset
now start over with the custom recovery
Unlock the bootloader at HTCDEV
then from fastboot USB
Flash recovery TWRP 2.6.3.3
http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.3-m7.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
then sideload this Rom to your phone
http://www.androidrevolution.org/downloader/download.php?file=One_5.11.401.10_odexed.zip
TWRP / Advanced / ADB Sideload - swipe to sideload
From PC adb / fastboot folder
you use
adb sideload name-of-rom.zip
make sure the rom is in the same folder as adb / fastboot

I'm using the telus stock recovery from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2545227 and unfortunately, I get an error every time I try to wipe the cache. I get:
Code:
erasing 'cache'...
FAILED (remote: erasing error!)
finished. total time: 0.015s
I also get errors when I flash the stock recovery, I can't access anything it seems. My cord is fine, it's worked for me forever.
There must be a way to fix this!

:silly: No my bootloader is not locked. It says *** UNLOCKED *** right on the screen. Just because I'm a junior member doesn't mean I'm a noob. I have tried many commands, including "fastboot oem lock" but nothing works. Read my first post again. Let me clarify for everyone! My bootloader is not fully fuctional. I am able to check barcode, and shutdown. Any fastboot commands don't seem to really work (with exception of "fastboot devices," and "fastboot oem unlock_token token.bin"). I've been trying to relock my device, so I can run the RUU.exe, but I this gives me an error. I tried unlocking my device for a second time, and it says unlock successful, but I don't get the warranty, and prompt on screen. I've only had this phone for about 4 months, and I'd like to get a little more life out of it before turning to ebay to find another.

I wasn't implying your were dumb ..i was pointing out that your phone acts the same as one with a locked bootloader.
the bootloader partition seems corrupt, fixing it is out of my league. Maybe @nkk71 or @alray has some advice

like cIsA said, it looks like your eMMC is corrupted, at least the partition where your bootloader is. Ive never seen that kind of error before (SD_HW_ERR] read data fail in CMD18) so I don't have any idea how to help you. Probably re-flashing the firmware or a complete ruu will fix it but its not possible with a non-relockable bootloader + S-ON.
sorry

You should wait to see what nkk71 think about your situation.
Code:
(bootloader) [ERR] Cmd18 polling status timed out, MCI_STATUS: 0x4C2000
(bootloader) [ERR] sdcc_command: sdcc_poll_status error, rc: 2
(bootloader) [[COLOR="Red"]SD_HW_ERR[/COLOR]] [COLOR="red"]read data fail in CMD18[/COLOR]
(bootloader) CMD18: cmd failed
(bootloader) [SD_HW_ERR] SD: Read data fail..
only speculating here but I think that CMD is a master/slave protocol used to send commands to the eMMC chip (I might be wrong, I'm not an expert in this matter) So this could mean you have a defective or corrupted eMMC. that would explain why you got these error codes and that you are not able to do anything useful from the bootloader.
Maybe a jtag/riffbox flash could fix this....

Sorry for the late reply, but yep, i think it's time for a new phone.
from what i've seen (and/or):
* "image update error"
* unable to relock bootloader
* "fastboot oem rebootRUU" doesn't actually go to RUU mode (gives some kind of CMDxx / SD error)
== fried phone
sorry to be the bearer of bad news

PLEASE HELP! Soft-bricked

So I bought this HTC One M7, the guy claims its soft bricked and hes not able to fix it because hes technically challenged. So I take it home boot it up, its stuck in a boot loop so I boot it into fastboot the bootloader is locked so I try to connect it to adb, no luck, there is no driver on this internet that I have found that will connect to adb. So I resort to fastboot, I "fastboot devices" and sure enough it connects (wicked), first I try to flash recovery, I try to boot recovery, I tried to update zip, no luck in flashing anything because I either get a signature fail or a "remote: not allowed" then I realize my bootloader is locked, I try to unlock it "fastboot oem unlock" and of course I get a "INFO [ERR] command error". I also tried to change my cid to 11111111 and no luck. I have actually tried everything I can think of I cant get s-off to work my recovery is stock as well so theres no possibility of OTG cable plus a usb. My fastboot will not flash anything in fastboot, I cant push any files to the phone, I cant connect to adb, I cant use my recovery. So what in the actual can I do? I think i'm f**ked.
Thank you in advance for anything you can help me with.

You can't use adb unless you're booted to OS or custom recovery. Also you can't unlock bootloader with "fastboot oem unlock" unless your phone is GPE version. For Sense you need unlock token from htcdev. In order to flash anything, you need custom recovery, and you can flash it only if your bootloader is unlocked

I unlocked my htc with the unlocktoken from htc dev but it still says locked in bootloader. I can flash the unlock_code.bin but it does not restart nor does it come up with a message that says I would like to unlock bootloader etc.

can you post the output of "fastboot getvar all" (remove your imei and serialno). Sometimes, reflashing the stock firmware can solve some bootloader unlock problem but I need to know you getvar all before I can tell you which one you should flash.

XT1563 bricked?? Forgot to unlock OEM in dev options

long story short, my relative came to me for help after he decided to install a new ROM and made a simple error of forgetting about the OEM unlock option in the settings menu beforehand. an error occurred along the way and he tried to go back to stock. now when the phone boots it goes into the bootloader (which is locked) and gives a start up failed message saying to use Software Repair Assistant.
trying to go into recovery gives a
Code:
AP Fastboot Flash Mode [Secure]
Fastboot Reason: UTAG *bootmode* configured as fastboot
failed to validate system image
ERROR : Failed to pass validation. backup to fastboot
Boot up failed
i tried flashing TWRP but its giving errors too. are there any known workarounds to unlocking the bootloader or forcing a recovery/twrp to work?
thanks, all

Tried to flash Zuk Z2 but nothing has gone right.

Hi guys,
I am having a lot of difficulties flashing the OS I have. I have an old ZUI 1.9 and after a few years I just started getting fullscreen ads when launching aps like netflix.
My bootloader is locked, I was able to get the unlock file from the chinese lenovo website, but now the issue I have is that all the commands I try are wrong.
I am using SDK platform tools, I have adb setup installed and got the driver for my device. When I go into fastboot the computer doesn't recognise Zuk Z2 anymore.
What I did was set the driver manually to ADB bootloader in device manager. This prevents the command from returning "waiting for any device".
I have tried many commands but all the ones that have fasboot -i doesn't work.
IE: fastboot -i 0x2b4c flash unlock unlock_bootloader.img will return :"fastbook: unknown option --i"
If I can't get the bootloader to be unlocked commands like: "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" will return :"fasboot: error: command failed". Sending goes OKAY, writing goes FAILED (remote: 'Partition flashing is not allowed').
In a last attempt to get this fix before I lose my calm I decided to register an account on the zukfans forums to ask for help. Once you register your account gets banned for spamlike behavior.
I found through an old post here that you can contact them through facebook to get that fixed, but now their pages have been deleted, and I have spent way too much time trying to flash this stupid device.
Any help is appreciated, if you need any more information don't hesitate to ask, I'll do my best to answer as this is the first time I try to flash a phone and none of the guides could help this far.
Thanks
