Hi there,
I'd like to update my rooted 3T to nougat, I currently have oos 3.5.4, twrp 3.0.2 (don't know the rest of the version) and its rooted with supersu 2.79
I don't mind if I loose root, as long as the update is as easy as it can get. I read somewhere if I just do it via the ota in the settings, it will replace the recovery with stock, then just updates and I just loose root. That would be perfect, but I'm afraid something will go wrong there...
Hi
I was about to follow one of the guides but then another user posted that the guide was not correct and had a separate download. I am looking for a verified guide to flash back the official xt1806 firmware.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo...dated-2-stock-procedure-motorola-g5s-t3838219
Follow this guide, download https://drive.google.com/open?id=161Z95p4Ss16xgzvAix5O2kxCktY-LwCM which is the June 2018 Nougat update. This will allow you to take the official Oreo OTA after.
Use https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo...nofficial-fixed-twrp-3-2-1-r20-stock-t3869192 as TWRP for any stock ROM until other TWRP devs fix their TWRP. This one allows proper backup & restore for OTA in the future, and doesn't break OTAs when you use it to flash Magisk and modules
Hey guys,
Im using 10.3.1.0 EEA and a update is available to 10.3.3.0 and I want to update to this version, but what is the correct way when using twrp and magisk root with stock rom?
I already googled around and found some topics regarding this but there was no solid answer on how to update..
Can someone guide me without losing data etc. ?

As far as I'm aware you need to download the recovery ROM, then flash that in TWRP, followed by Magisk.
hi, i have been searching, but i don't see that anyone has asked this question exactly...is there a way to use stock 9.0x firmware on a 3t and LineageOS if i DONT care about wiping? I have a 3T that i currently have Lineage 16 but not current because i am on 5.08 firmware. I could completely wipe phone, given that, would it work to flash stock OxygenOS on the phone (presumably to get 9.0 firmware) and then go through the procedure to install Lineage again?
thanks in advance
to be clear, I am currrently running lineageos 16 (pre 9.x firmware requirement) and stock 5.08 firmware. the system is unlocked (obviously) and i have twrp installed.
what I want is unmodded 9.06 firmware with lineagos 16 and am ok with wiping if i have to.
thanks

Because I like my phone unlocked and encrypted, this is what I would do:
- backup my user data to a PC
: Install OOS 9.0.6 full rom
- Format data (wipe>format data) to remove encryption
- boot system (will re-encrypt the data and replace TWRP)
- copy data back to phone
- flash TWRP using fastboot
- install Los 16
Sent from my OnePlus3T using XDA Labs

It's answered in the official los-16 and official twrp threads. Exactly that. You need to read through the threads, it's not in the OP.
It's basically: flash twrp-3.3.1-0 or later, relock 5.0.x bl, boot to twrp-3.3.1-0 or later and wipe system and format data, teboot to twrp-3.3.1-0 or later and update the gw to 9.0.x. Reboot to twrp-3.3.1-0 or later and flash rom, gapps and otional stuff as usual.

You can do the OTA update, then reinstall TWRP and Magisk.
Or you can download the full MIUI 12 recovery ROM and install that in TWRP, but you'll still need to reinstall Magisk after.
thanks, just making sure it's safe for rooted and unlocked phones
Totally safe.
It seems I always have to download the update
twice, before it actually installs. Other than that
there are no problems. You lose root of course,
but that's fixed in a jiffy.
:good:
i also want to flash otà . should i flash fastboot rom or recovery rom by Twrp ??
