Update interruption - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

hi ,i got my new OnePlus 3t just 4 days ago and now when i was updating to Android 7.0 from 6.0.1 i got some network issue and complete download failed . More than 1gb data was downloaded ...what should i do now ..start allover again ...will it affect my phone

Shouldn't affect anything because your phone checks the integrity of the downloaded update before it tries to use it. So at most you will have to re-download it.

[Q] Manual update TF701

Hello.
I recently received an update to my TF701. I already had 4.3 and this update boot looped and made me wipe data twice. After the tablet starts I have 4.2.2. How can I update manual to 4.3, because I can't find in system updates a new update and I downloaded the manual update from asus website, but I don't know how to install it. Any help will be very very big appreciated.

I got the solution guys! First wipe data in bootloader (hold power and vol down(I wiped data twice, still had some problems after the first wipe)). Then your device will boot and you will have 4.2.2. Then download the firmware from ASUS support ( page worked for me 6 hours ago, but now it does not work, I will give you the link when I will get to my pc) and place the firmware on the tablet (not in a folder, just directly where all the folders are) and your tablet will automatically notify you about the update found on the memory (is really easy). Hope I was helpful for you guys, ASUS ruined this day for me, I had 20 gigs on my memory and they were all ereased...

[Q] LRX21O Update

Hi all,
I'm having an issue updating to LRX21O. It popped up when I first turned on, but gives me an error message after I turned off encryption.
Any ideas how I can update?
I downloaded the OTA zip and tried using TWRP but it also gave me an error.
Thanks in advance :good:

Go back to complete stock. As in everything the way it was when you first turned it on. No root or decryption, lollipop made it so every file has to be exactly the same or it will fail.
Damn I was afraid of that, this is like the third time I formatted this phone today
So those of us who modified our build.prop and renamed the att boot animation can't flash updates from google?
What about if we restore that stuff but still are rooted? Can we flash google-sourced Roms then?

I'm surprised no one has made a flashable zip of this yet.

Stuck in a bootloop after manual OTA update from B170 to B190!

Dear P9P friends,
few days ago I decided it's time to update the firmware of my beloved P9P(L29C636) to B190 manually because my phone itself didn't give me an option to autoupdate via phone's UPDATE button in settings. I have been on B170 for ages so I thought it's time to give B190 a try. Downloaded the respective B190 OTA package from Huawei via FirmwareFinderByTeamMT, unpacked and copied the required file into phone's dload folder, restarted(with all 3 buttons pressed), flashing process completed without issues, restarted and since that time I was stuck in a bootloop. Nothing helped - was able to access Recovery mode - wiping cache/partition didnt help so tried to Wipe data/Factory reset but that failed at 5%. Tried to access Fastboot mode but that one did not worked. Tried several times but phone never went to Fastboot. I tried to switch the phone off too but again no luck. So rushed to the nearest Huawei Service Center, they took the phone and after 40 mins returned it to me with the fresh clean instal of B170, free of charge(very nice policy of local Huawei as I remember similar issue with Samsung and it took 2 days and I had to pay for it).
Anyway I tried to figure out what I did wrong and only think that came to my mind was that since i flashed OTA(and not full package) I first should have flash to B180 and only then to B190 rather than going direct to B190. Am I assuming that correctly? Anything else what I might have done incorrectly?
Cheers, brgds

If u want to update manually u must use full stock firmware, not OTA. U can jump to B190 from B170, no need to go to B180 since B190 includes changes in B180 with the full firmware. So to wrap it all up always use full stock firmware when upgrade manually!

Thanks a lot for the advice Mostar088 - I had no clue if I want to update manually I have to do it with full package. Will I lose all my data/settings while doing so?

New and failing!

Hello.
I bought my OP3T and I just got it today. As soon as I connected it to WiFi, the Nougat OTA update appeared and I proceeded to download it, reboot and install it, but the installation just failed in the middle of the process!
Now the phone won't go beyond the boot screen.
Of course, OnePlus support is useless. They can only offer a remote session (lol) or a replacement request. This is what they told me:
"And please do not update your phone to Android N since it's having a lot of issues however, the ROM team is already working in progress to have everything fixed."
I know what to do (I think), I just need little help here with the steps to fix it.
Thank you in advance!
Edit: managed to fix it following the official guide to upgrade:
http://downloads.oneplus.net/oneplus-3t/oneplus_3t_oxygenos_3.5.3/
Now the question is: is the Nougat rom failing for everyone? it seems that yes, according to what I've found in my research...
And, do you recommend to wait until we have a stable reliable Nougat version?
I have not had any issues other than my volume not sounding right. It sounds on low when On medium. I compared it to next to my s7 edge and it is lower when on low but HIGH on max, sounds confusing I know. Other than that I am good battery life has been phenomenal. Haven't done a recommended factory reset just yet though

(noob) How to flash the downloaded update file?

I have downloaded the open beta update file (1.45 gb). But I don't know how to update my phone to that. Can anyone please guide me through the procedure?

Just follow the instructions from the thread to install from stock recovery.
Imo, the beta path is more for experienced members that are going to find bugs and able to take logs of the issues and send them to OnePlus for diagnosis. Best bet for new users to use stable path.
I updated from 4.0.3 to beta 4 via local, but now I want to go back because of the battery drain problem. I tried several times via adb sideload to flash the zip but I keep getting the same error <cannot read 4.0.4.zip> over and over again. Even after installing the drivers, I got a little yellow exclamation triangle near the driver in device manager. Honestly I'm starting to give up, I think I wiped my phone more than 5 times in order to flash via sideload, only to get the same error continuously. as far as I know, I cannot go back to 4.0.3 via local from beta 4 right?
Please help...
Did you already redownload the zip?
