Is that a serious question?

Seems like a legitimate question to me, ViewSonic's ViewPad 10 already does Android-Windows dualbooting, and XDA itself has a thread about dualbooting the HD2 with WM and Android.
If the OP's asking about Android and iOS specifically though, then probably the answer might be no. If someone could do it though, it might actually be a good thing for the Android crowd: shows the Apple fans that choice and customizability is a good thing.
I was thinking the other day that my Tab would be pretty cool if running Windows Thin PC, saw info and a download on the MS site the other day while working on my wifes netbook.
I dont see a problem with either a full working version of Ubuntu or Windows on the GT and Android, or just the full OS. Seems reasonable to put an OS on what is essentially a tablet PC.
I would think its just a matter of a bios, and loading the OS, but I am not a programmer, so I could very well be wrong.
But....I'd load Windows or Ubuntu on the tab if it gave me the 3G ability as well as all other functions.

IIRC I think there's already a thread on XDA on bringing Ubuntu to the Tab. With Windows it might be trickier. The ViewSonic ViewPad 10 runs on Intel Atom, which is already used by other netbooks that run Windows. Windows might not be designed to run on ARM however, which is used on many Android devices. Processor design differences may be the key factor in porting the OS. (I've gotten Gingerbread to run on my Atom netbook though, alas I still couldn't get the touch screen to work)
Would be the first to jump onto dualbooting Android with Windows if it ever comes to fruition though; I'm a Windows developer and it'll be cool if I could write small apps and use them on my Tab.

You can't run Windows because there is currently no ARM version, though MS say that they will support ARM in Windows 8, but by the time this sees the light of day, the Tab will be obsolete.
There is a thread in the dev forum about porting Ubuntu to the Tab, but I believe it is still a long way from fully functional.

Dave
I already posted the question about fully functions in ubuntu for the tab. Specially the phone and sms functions but they denied it. I keep following and hope some day it will work

Thanks for the responses guys. Let's hope one day it would be possible!

since both iOS and Android are ARM based in most cases, you could probably make it happen.
Both Android and iOS are Unix based, so we could achieve this.
Also
It could be easier to port iOS than Honeycomb because iOS source code is avalaible for public, for improvements and bug seeking.
So, Yes, we could have dual OS on the tab, it could be windows, Ubuntu, Maemo, iOS and even Symbian

iOS source code is most certainly not available!

So I was looking for an phone or in this situation a "phablet" So I Would like to know is there a obstacle that would prevent the install of linux distros on the nexus 6with linux deploy or Complete Linux Installer And if someone has succesfully installed it. and fix/get no errors then please teach me how to install it i didnt find any threads on this device. the reason i did this thread is because all of these programs say that they work on all device`s but always people come up with some kind of errorcode/mistake and i thought this would be useful for other too so if someone can test installing kali linux on their Nexus 6 so i can decide whether to buy One-or-Not I have very much use for this Since the Nexus is 64Gb And Has an 2.7Ghz Four Core Processor and should be enough to run Kali or an other Linux Distro Smoothly me: I have very much practical use for it. since i do not own a PC. so if Someone Can Confirm that it would be useful!!
Part Two ;
Since i do not know if this work`s on the device but if im going to buy this phone the part whether linux works or not will depend on it
and i dont own the phone yet so i would appreciate help on rooting an unlocking the phone aswell with Multirom busybox and so i can Dual-boot 2 roms so i can install kali nethunter on it.
thank you for help i appriciate all help given
sorry if my english is bad.
Craving for this
Hey! I'm also seeking something similar to what you're proposing.
Yes, it would be incredibly useful for me. As for limitations: all I know it's that not all kernels are compatible with arm processors. That said, it would be interesting to port something like Ubuntu or debian. I'll begin my research asap. I'm just getting started in programming school so something like this could really make me stand out.
So probably everyone reading this thread knows what Linux Deploy is or (Complete Linux Installer)
I am actually curious what people do when they have their linux environment set up and running
I could not find a good reason yet to just run a linux environment on a phone, sure it's fun but are there any practical reasons ?
What distribution do you run ?
If it's kali/nethunter what do you do with it ?
Which packages do you have installed ?
Any practical applications you use ?
bump
Haven't tried it on the OP3 but I used something similar on my Nexus 5. Couldn't really find any practical uses for it but it's fun to play around with. Maybe try some games that aren't on Android?
The silence is your answer. No real practical reason to run Linux on a phone.
Unless very specific need, that you clearly don't have elsewhere you wouldn't ask.
Linux environment is best to have but i am facing problems installing it. I have a rooted phone.
Downloaded Applications--Linux deploy, vnc server and terminal emulator.
Distribution- kali Linux
After completing everything SSH and VNC services fail.
Can you help me?
i have custom linux applications
i just picked up this oneplus 3 new cheap.so like all of my devices...i had to break it down .and build from the ground up....so im running a wicked custom kali nethunter rom with full tools and packages. and 4 different 64 bit system on top of that for on the go.....i use my devices all day everyday..ad there's nothing that this device cant get into...for educational purposes only projects.....so by installing Linux on your devices makes your plus 3 a major power house . computer in your pocket..... considering its more powerful than your laptop or desktop....its a frickn beast now

Any help ?

Hello, thanks for having a look at my thread: I’m curious on how I can run Ubuntu Touch on my Android phone. To cut a long story short, my brother bought me an iPhone 7 replica which operates on a custom ROM. I’m very disappointed if I won’t be able to flash this with Ubuntu Touch because the hardware is impressive. The internal memory is 128GB, albeit I have yet to confirm with the rest of the specifications.
Are there are any resources for Ubuntu Touch installations for Android Phones?
I had a look at their homepage, but none of these phones are an iPhone 7 replica (generic Android smartphone).
I’d truly appreciate any help that I can get.
Thanks!
Additional details: I'm looking to replace the entire Android operating system with Ubuntu Touch.
Hello friends,
I would like to turn my old Nexus 7 flo into a little Linux machine. My understanding is that Ubuntu Touch is not supported anymore/discontinued. I think it's too heavy for the tablet anyways. Can you recommened any other linux distros that might run somewhat smoothly on this beautiful old piece of hardware ? If you have some experience with using Linux on old hardware i'd love to hear about it !
This is my first post here, i have a bit of experience flashing ROMs on my Nexus and Xperia P devices. But i'd love to start tinkering with linux.
