Fingerprint without Password or something else? - Huawei P9 Questions & Answers

Hi, is it possible to use the fingerprint with apps like bank, paypal, etc. without set up a password or an unlock pattern?
Thanks for your response.

No the Device needs to be secure before these apps will allow it as an option

Simple exchange pin bypass (Caution!!!!)

First understand if ur employer finds out you bypassed the required pin to unlock phone when u have an exchange account tied to your phone, there may be consequences!!!! You have been warned, and I am in no way responsible!!!
Anywho, its very simple, You must be rooted!! Then set up ur exchange account like normal, with a root file browser navigate to data/system/locksettings.db. Open it with a sqlite editor. When you open it go to locksettings, then change the lockscreen.password_type value to 0. Then save. Now you can into settings/lockscreen/select screen lock, and change it to what you like....
Hey there,
Got an LG L7 P714 with stock OS and with an exchange account set. Lock screen is set to have PIN of course. Following your directions, I have opened this db, but the password_type attribute already had the value of 0. Am I missing something here?
Cheers,
D.

Try one of the 4 exchange server bypass plugins in xposed framework.

Thanks, found the EnhancedEmail app, which gives me the functionality I need (and pin requirement is optional).

Camera Doesn't Open on Lock Screen

Hi,
For some reason, the camera app does not open on the lock screen anymore. Instead, it now prompts me to enter my password, after which it opens the app. How do I fix this problem?
Thank you!

The solution is remove your password. Then it will open the app directly.
This behavior is normal it SHOULD ask for a password before opening the camera app because if not anyone could look at my photos and use the phone.

Hi,
Thanks for the info!
Is there a reason why other android devices (ex. Nexus 5) allow access to the camera from the lock screen without having you enter the password? I remember that you could have access to the camera, even if you had enabled some kind of security lock.
Thank you so much!

Incorrect. Even with password the camera app should open with the twist/slide option but when you slide to open gallery then the password is asked, that's how is working.
How do I remove password protection when I want to start the camera from the lock screen?

About Google's 2-factor authentication.

I use Google's 2-factor authentication, and whenever I want to setup any Google related account on the phone, it prompts that it needs to open the in-browser to input the 6 digit code. However after inputting the code, the in-browser doesn't close automatically and it displays the Google secure configuration site. If I attempt to manually close the in-browser, the authentication process starts all over again.
Any solution to this, aside from disabling the 2-factor authentication?

This is Google's, not our rom.
Generate a app specific password, and use that.

Application lock with different pattern or fingerprint

Hello XDA community,
Is there a way to lock spesific apps under pattern, pin or fingerprint different than the one used to unlock device and other apps? I need to do this through settings without installing a new app.
I am under global rom 7.5.2.0.
Thank you...

Fingerprint login/banking apps

Anyone else having issues with using fingerprint to log in to some banking apps?
Neither the Halifax or the Nationwide apps show the fingerprint login dialogue, despite being enabled in their settings.
I wonder if Huawei aren't using the standard APIs?

I had this problem before, I had to login to nationide, disable the setting, save then logout
Then log back in, enable, log out.
Next time it should ask for a fingerprint

You download the app, install it, log in once and then next login it says error T0017 and info that Barclays Mobile App won't work on a rooted device.

Has anyone found a solution to this issue? I believe it's some display / overlay setting on the phone. Sometimes I see the fingerprint login page for a split second before it closes & reverts to the regular login with password page.
