Hi all,
I have a strange issue with one mobo for i9000 and I thought that maybe someone will be able to help with that. I have not been able to find any solution on the forum or anywhere else. The problem is that the speaker generally works - when I change the ringtone or notifications, the sound gets through it, however it does not play any sound when playing multimedia type of sound (so in games, or when changing multimedia volume in settings). When I connect headphones, the sound works ok for multimedia. Does anyone have an idea on what is going on with it? I have never seen such an issue, is there any way o fix it?
Thanks,

Try to change your rom if problem still there then it must be fault in speakers then go to service centre.
It confused me, that you write the speaker sounds normal ...
Are you using BigMEM or something which breaks some kernel-libs for multimedia???

Yeah, the sound gets through it when I select different ringtones, but not when playing multimedia. However when I connect headphones, all is ok.
Currently the phone was wiped clean and installed stock rom using Odin, so I assume if there even were modifications like those you mention, those should be all gone now.
Hmhh strange:
When you are using stock rom and the problem still exists it should be a hardware problem with the speaker maybe with some frequencies???
Because when you use your headphones erverything works okay, so the is produced by the kernel-drivers ...

check if you have any lint /dirt lodged in your headphone slot, try use a needle of tooth pick, when phone is powered off and battery removed.
Check this out! You , YES! you are an " Android ". Not your phone but U.

I will, thanks. I did not realize this may be the issue, since all other sounds go through the speaker. But then if the sound for ringtones goes through speaker regardless of connected headphones, this may be the issue.
I will check and see if this will help, thanks!

Ok so I have managed to trace the problem. It turned out that international version of i9000 has a different sensor/headphone connector than the SC-02B I have. I have ripped off the sensor/headphone module from original leftovers of the screen and connected it to the board and launched the phone. All sound works fine then, no issues whatsoever. Youtube works, ringtones work, even the light sensor works (it did not when I tested it on the international board). So this is it guys. Probably the same problem is with wifi - there are different board connectors and the antenna is not connected, hence low signal.
Thanks for your replies and help, much appreciated!

Hey there,
i have a problem since i got my One (april) but it seems to geeting worse. If i am on the phone its sometimes really hard to unterstand my partner because the speaker is so quite. I do not mean handsfree phoning, its just the internal speaker. It happens with all kinds of roms (rooted
+ s-off). Whats interesting, is that if the call is quite, and i go for handsfree it es quite as well, so i thinking about a software issue.
If i listen to musik the speaker is fine.
What could i do to search for the problem ? My phone is on the first hboot and running android 4.4 android revolution 41.0
any tips for me ?
thanks!

Their is a feature in the phone that lowers the volume of the ringtone when you pickup the phone ... it may be interfering with normal operation ..try disabling it
it's in Settings / Sound / Quiet ring on pickup and pocket mode

well their are a couple of other things .. there's a tiny mic on the backside of the phone that tells the phone your in a loud environment and to raise and lower in call volume, theirs a tweak to override it somewhere here on the forums .. I'll look for that. EDIT Found it >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2406524
The other thing is the actual speaker grill can get plugged up with debris have you tried cleaning those tiny holes ?

applied the mod. did not help as well.
I think theres really some sort of HW issue, because of all the different roms i used to use there was no changes.
maybe there is some sort of mini speaker in there with a problem, or a amplifier problem

I just read the whole thread ..seems that fix is not working on kitkat
External speakers don't work. Headphones do work, and I can make calls. Still pretty frustrated I have to return it.
Are you are your volume is up/on?

Make sure media volume is up, try alarms, try playing music, speakerphone, etc... If they are indeed defective, that is bad luck. If anyone else had this issue, this forum would be flooded with external speaker topics. So no, no one has this issue.

Yes all my volume sliders are up. I know how to use an Android phone. No sound is coming out of my bottom speakers. I can receive calls, make calls, and listen to music through headset. But no external audio will play from any source.

Yes, I meant the one in the back
return it
That's odd. Yea, definitely not a wide known issue. Return for sure.

Does anyone notice a slight noise/buzz/static every few seconds ?
I notice this at night - if I have the watch near my head in bed I'll hear a minor buzz every few seconds.
It's nothing major - and I can't hear it if my arm is by the side.
Does anyone else get this?
I'm thinking this might be due to Bluetooth but wondering if anyone else has this occurrence ?

It just happens when my phone is not connected to my watch and the watch is in the charger dock.

I've got the same "problem", and it's not viber but an "electronic sound" .. i didn't noticed at the begining ..
Sometimes when I use my headphone and switch in different songs or apps that use audio output, there will be a difference of volume between the left and right channels. I have to stop my music for about 5 seconds to recover to the normal output.

It's definitely a bug which only exists in Oero builds. You shouldn't give up your right to enjoy stereo music to escape from facing this bug. :crying:
Moreover, sometimes the audio stops from reproducing through the speakers and reproduces from the earpiece... Have to reboot to fix it temporarily.
Hi. I have the same problem too.

as far as i know Mono Audio mean NOT stereo but only 1 speaker
so if its ENABLED thats mean you will hear from one speaker only
but DISABLE it and your stereo should be ok
i think Oneplus put this option because they have only one speaker in the phone
and to make all the sound come from it they combined the
2 stereo channels in one using this option
