Accidentaly wiped internal storage - twrp - xt1097 - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
So, I accidentaly wiped the internal Storage during the process of "unlock bootloader" and root. Now i can't download nothing, can't take photos or things like these. How can I solve this? Please guys, help me!!
Obs: i'm using stock 6.0 version (if i can call this "stock"), the bootloader is unlocked, the recovery installed is twrp 3.2.0.2-1 and the device is not rooted (i couldn't place the supersu.zip at internal Storage).
Obs2: sorry about my english, i'm from Brazil and don't speak english fluently
Ty

if you can access twrp, goto mount and check if system/data/cache/modem are ticked.
2nd) goto wipe > advance wipe > repair or change file system and do necessary adjustments.

Thanks pal, last night I reflashed the official stock rom back and it works for me... I lost twrp and logo.bin (without bootlander warning), but I have my apps and media again!
I'll reflash twrp and logo.bin again next week!
Oh! And this solved the battery issue of moto x2 (shuting down at 38% battery...)
I think that the topic is officialy closed...

Encrypt phone

I have installed twrp 3.0.0-1 recovery and cm-13.0-20160315-NIGHTLY-titan. I made a fresh install. When i try to encrypt the phone, in settings > security > encrypt phone, the phone reboots on android logo. After a few secondos it reboots and don't encrypt.
Hi,
I had the same trouble some times ago, I made an answer here and search for information but I have found nothing.
I found fortuitously that when I formatted the data before the install (and not only erase the partitions) the ROM encrypted without problem. I tried it (problem and solution) with Minimal OS, CM13, and others MM ROMs.
I'm not developer and maybe it's not the information you need but maybe it can help you.
Sorry for the English.
Hi, same issue here.
Moto G 2nd Gen 2014 (XT1068)
Android stock 6.0 (OTA)
TWRP 3.0.0-2
SuperSU 2.62-3 Beta
ROM and SD card as internal memory (approximately 3 GB of data)
First, I have tried to encrypt after rooting. But the device restarted and stayed stuck to the big M Motorola logo. I never see the encryption progress (in percentage).
Then I need to hold POWER for 10 seconds in order to reboot the device.
Second, I have tried a trick from this post : http: //androidforums.com/threads/how-to-encrypt-a-rooted-device.866968/#post-6746987
Connect the device to a PC.
Enable USB Debugging.
Open an elevated command prompt in adb folder, and type : adb shell
Type : su
Accept the root permission request on the device.
$ will turn into #
Type : pkill -KILL daemonsu
Encrypt the device.
But that didn't work...
EDIT : Factory reset > Encrypt > Root
Chainfire said:
It's a known issue. You need to be unrooted for the encryption procedure to work. You can root again after encrypting.

Finally, I am able to encrypt/decrypt MOTO G 3rd Gen XT1550. It took lot of trials and finally works. Below are the steps one has to follow to encrypt and decrypt
Encrypt - rooted Host
---------------------------
Factory reset the rooted mobile
Encrypt mobile
Install super su to get root permission
Your phone is rooted and encrypted
To decrypt, again factory reset the mobile. It will be decrypted and install super su to get root access.
Encrypt -Unrooted Host
-----------------------------
On unrooted phone “encrypt phone” was successful
Decrypt was not working on the same phone afterword's
Reset the phone to factory mode, it will be back to decrypted state.
Setting -> backup and factory reset
Thank You!

Yes, I quoted your message.
It seems to be the only way to achieve root+encryption.

Don't work for me...
I wiped, formated and nothing.....
Hi,
What I do is format data, reboot to recovery, erase everything but external SD, instal ROM & Gapps, reboot system, put a pin code and when battery is more than 80%, encrypt.
Every time I made it in this order.
You can use the multiROM TWRP, I used it because I read here that it can read encrypted partition. The link is in the multirom thread.
I'm with a titan device, I don't know if it matter...
Good luck!

TURBO orthodox cleaning procedure for h811 prior flashing......

By popular requests, here is my everyday orthodox cleaning procedure prior flashing all these roms:
Prerequisites:
- Be in MM6 already.
- Make sure you upgraded your device via .kdz file only
Benefits: Your phone will feel like new.....
1) Resizing partitions:
- Flashing all these roms, sometimes cause resizing your system partitions and you wont even know it....... please do the following: Boot to recovery > wipe > advanced wipe > select system > click repair or change file system (bottom) > resize file system > swipe to resize (bottom)
Notes:
- If you get errors resizing these partitions (red), just reboot to recovery and repeat this procedure again, until no error shows up.
- You will do this resizing to three partitions (system, data and cache).
2) Wiping everything:
- Boot to recovery > click mount > check all partitions (but external_sd) > click home or back > click in advanced > file manager > in root "/" click check mark (bottom right) > click delete > swipe to delete
Notes:
- This procedure will delete all extra files and junk files on your partitions....... don’t worry the important partition's files are read only. So, after reboot everything will be fine.
- This procedure will freeze the phone with some errors (in red). Just take the battery out
- This procedure will wipe your internal storage
3) Boot to recovery and flash your new rom.
4) Profit!!
Enjoy your trouble free phone

hi Luis.... if you are in 20o and rooted, you can do this and will be good. I always like to do kdz as first choice, since it cleans and upgrade everything from scratch.......

Haha yea, luckily I have autobackups for everything
After wiping /, you can reboot into recovery via this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/how-to-manually-enter-to-recovery-mode-t3129643
I always forget the manual way (specifically, the part where you need to let go of the power button, then hold it again), so hopefully this helps someone here too.
to enter recovery mode using hardware buttons do this.
phone completly off.
press volumen down button, make sure you press firmly. never release this button keep it pressed.
then press power button. keep it press.... phone will turn on when you see LG logo
then do 2 clicks on power button keeps pressing adter 2 clicks then it should take you to recovery.
thanks for this. works well, though it didn't fix issues I've had with the phone.
Boot to recovery > click mount > check all partitions (but external_sd)... Not choose external_sd ?
Dont want to wipe external storage beacuse rhe rom you plan to flash will be stored there. As well as it doesnt need wipe for installs of roms. Its not part of the main partitions.
Thank you very much Turbo for directing me here.
Among the prerequisite, i am right now using cm13 based ROM and i flashed it using twrp.. How to fulfill the second requirement?

OnePlus 3T - invalid partition selection

Hi
Today I get my OnePlus 3T. So I did that, what I do with any new phone = TWRP and Root. So I...
1. Boot, download and install Oxygen OS 4
2. Fastboot unlock bootloader, flash TWRP (latest official build)
3. Reboot in TWRP and TWRP ask for password (never set any password for this phone, nothing! just start without sim and set nothing, only wifi for the first step)
4. Download SuperSU .zip and try to root - 0MB when I try to install SuperSu
5. TWRP > Wipe > Format data
6. Reboot and now I see (when I click on install) internal Storage (52100 MB). After that (dont flash SuperSU) just boot in TWRP
7. With OTG and USB stick I flash Oxygen OS 4.0 (full ROM with 1,4GB) > phone just reboot in TWRP.
When I go to
Wipe > Advanced Wipe > check Internal Storage > click on Repair or Change File System I get "invalid partition selection"
This also happen, when I check Dalvik/ART Cache. With System, Data and Cache no problems.
I have no idea what I can do. Over Google I only find some thread from Huawei and Samsung device, something with PIT file. Nothing to OnePlus (not One, not Two and not Three).

This question seems to keep repeating itself due to missing information on TWRP post about the latest official version being incompatible with OOS 4 encryption method, but that is the explanation. There is a beta release of TWRP in post 550 in that thread that is supposed to fix this.
Here's some spoon feeding for you
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3507308
Lookup post numbered 550 and it has a link to the unofficial TWRP update
What to do? Boot in beta1 and looks like the same... can flash OOS 4 but still the same problem.

How to go from OOS 5.0 to Stock Nouga

How to go from OOS 5.0 to Stock Nouga
Since you've made the spelling error twice, its Nougat, not "Nouga.".
I think the best way you could do it is flash the special Open Beta build on the Open Beta thread and then flash the stable build zip.
Whichever way you do the reversion, you will lose partial data, as N and O do not support each others app installations.

If you are unlocked bootloader, flash twrp 3.1.1-2 and clear dalvik data cache and system, and just flash them through twrp
dont use twrp 3.2.0-0 because you cant install magisk, it shows installed but magisk doesnt seem to be recognized in apps
I've just done that, and everything seems working flawlessly
Pls do hit thanks if i help you

Does your solution avoid erasing internal storage? Because that's the part that's preventing me as it can take too long getting my backups into the phone again.

i never format my internal sdcard partition
it's taking too long time to backup and restore it again
as i said, only format dalvik cache data and system thru twrp and you're good to go
download special edition nougat revert zip file and flash it via recovery
http://oneplusroms.s3.amazonaws.com...337224&Signature=BEA4IHd/rVFqoPd2gh7EvwaoSeg=
notes :
The build will wipe app and cache data, but Internal Storage will be saved (ie: pictures and files)
Users who revert their device back to the special build can still OTA update the device to Android O build at a later date.
Steps to revert:
Download special build
Copy to Internal storage
Reboot to recovery Mode to install
Choose “Install from Local”
Choose the downloaded build to install

Redmi 4/4X santoni Fingerprint problem

I clean-installed Havoc OS 3.5 Android Q. It's smooth, fast and the battery backup is great but I'm having a problem with my fingerprint. I went to Settings/Security/Fingerprint, I put my finger on the sensor but nothing happened.
I thought my fingerprint sensor was Goodix but when I checked on AIDA64, it said
Manufacturer: FPC/Goodix
Model: FPC102x/FP.
How does this happen, I thought it's just 1 manufacturer per device only.

Do you Restore Persist Partition from Recovery
download the Persist zip from this link
https://drive.google.com/uc?id=1UZR5F9Ak3lAbUcB2vxf0tERa1SaW29tu&export=download
Extract this to Internal Storage > TWRP (if you're using TWRP)/
Fox (if you're using OrangeFox) > BACKUPS > Persist.
Then boot to recovery and go to Restore, select Persist backup and restore it. Probably this should fix dead sensors issue.
Thank you, I'll try and will let you know
OMG, it works. Thank you so much. I'm very appreciated.
Thank you so much for providing this, you really saved my day!

If you didn't understand, Goto recovery > Backup > select persist > swipe to complete the backup (it will help to locate default backup directory )
Then download & extract the given persist file to internal.
If you use TWRP Paste the extracted folder to Internal storage> TWRP
If you use OFRP Paste the extracted folder to Internal storage> Fox
Again goto recovery> restore> now highlighted our persist , then restore it :good::laugh:
Thank you very much for your help you are a crack!!!!

extracting will replace the existing files ? or they will remain in addition.
