Hi all,
that's more an information than a bug.
On my Nexus 5 with latest OmniRom I updated also the Google Apps.
But than I went into App-Authorizations and for the Google Search App I disabled all authorizations.
The intersting is:
even also Audio authorizations are disabled if you say "OK Google" the voice recognition starts => I thought if the authorizations is disabled it should not listen?
on the stock launcher homescreen it is not possible to adjust volume up/down if the authorization Audiofokus has been disabled
it is only possible to adjust volume up/down if an other App has been started when the authorization Audiofokus has been disabled
on Nexus 4 with Lightning Launcher the volume up/down works on home screen even all authorizatons are disabled for Google Search
That means the Google Search App is on Stock Launcher Home Screen on a "higher (software) level"?!!
Does this mean, dass google search gets more and more integrated into the operating system?
Will this authorization handling of Apps in OmniRom still in focus/improved?
That was for me the reason to change to this rom
Kind regards,
Chris

None of the above, Nova Launcher.
Moto's features? No.
Battery? Possibly, but probably not.

I use the Google Now Launcher with Xposed GEL Settings. Makes it decently customizable. Doesn't really affect battery life as opposed to the stock launcher. As for the Moto features, all phones with touchless controls are blocked from using the in-app "Ok Google" hotword, therefore we are not able to access the "Ok Google" or "Ok Google Everywhere" feature. There are workarounds for this such as Unleash The Google which debugs Google Search settings but all the debug flags have been renamed so its hard to tell what you need to fix, its possible though. When I did have Ok Google Everywhere enabled on my phone it greatly interfered with touchless controls making it near unusable. So instead I went the Xposed route and now use Ok Google Hotword for Third Party Activities which allows you to pick and choose which apps can activate a search using the hotword (that fixed the problem entirely). Using the built in hotword from search is a lot faster than touchless controls, but it is also nice to use touchless when you are away from the phone. If you use the procedures I just described above you can have both (have your cake and eat it too). I also see you have a DE so this shouldn't be out of your reach if this sounds like something you'd want to do. Cheers.
I've been using the GEL since it first became sideload-available. It's just as smooth as stock and looks the same, only it has larger icon sizes on the home screen. Stoked the new Moto X will be running GEL as it's stock launcher out of the box.
It seems that Google have fixed the "Ok google" with screen off on lollipop, update google to 4.4.10.16.arm ( Apr. 9th)
I have Oneplus 5T, which does not listen on the off screen "ok google". Maybe it is possible to force this by creating a magisk module? I currently have Android Pie. HotwordEnrollmentOKGoogle.apk and HotwordEnrollmentXGoogle.apk are on the system.
Has anyone seen this issue from the screenshot? The "hey google" seems to be overriding the ability to use the squeeze or corner swipe.
Turns out clearing the cache of the Google app will fix this...for now. I'll keep and eye on this oddity.
