Update US SM-T580 - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

If you're like me and have the US version of the SM-T580, you know it hasn't gotten any updates for about 6 months now. Out of curiosity and frustration, I tried flashing recent updates for other country's versions to my tablet. And so far they have all worked fine. So far I have tried the following:
Russia:
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/122154/T580XXU2AQA2_T580OXE2APL2_SER/
UK:
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/123227/T580XXU2AQA2_T580BTU2APL2_BTU/
And I'm currently running the Singapore ROM with absolutely no problems whatsoever:
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/123790/T580XXU2AQB1_T580OLB2APL1_XSP/
The Singapore version is Android security patch level February 1, 2017. So since we will probably be waiting forever for Samsung to update the US version, you can safely use these more updated ROMs for the US model. I flashed everything, BL, AP, and Home CSC. As I said, I'm currently on the Singapore ROM and it's working flawlessly. As long as you flash the Home CSC and not the plain CSC file, it will keep all your user data, including language settings, etc.

[Q] Regarding OTA Update after Odin Flash Update

Hi, I've got a galaxy note here in the Philippines, I bought it from a store who seems to have gotten the unit from another country, because I'm not getting the XXLA# updates, I'm still stuck at the KK5 update which I checked isn't for the philippines.
And since last week there's been and LA# OTA update for my friend's galaxy note which was purchased at a local samsung store here in the philippines, which i'm not getting on mine.
My question is if I manually update via Odin to the same firmware("philippine" firmware) as my friend's note. Will I still be able to get future OTA updates?
And if I do which updates will I be getting in the future, will i get the one he gets too, or will it still be from whatever country my unit came from.
Sorry for the long post. Thanks!
I think you can get future update using odin without losing root. If you go with OTA update in the future, but you will loose root.

If you don't mind wiping your device (and backing up/restoring etc), you could change your CSC code to another region which is getting the updates sooner for example DBT. Search the forums on how to change it, and if you have done this after flashing the latest LA# stock ROM from your chosen region, you should receive all the latest updates OTA or via kies. If your csc doesn't match the stock rom region then lies won't update.

I've actually read a some about changing the csc of my device after putting up this post Sadly though when I checked my csc, I only have XEU.
So if I understand correctly, official OTA/Kies updates will be provided to your phone as long as you have an official rom with it's matching csc am I correct? And that the serial of the phone or any other data doesn't matter.
I had a uk unlocked note on XEU .. I couldnt change the CSC
I took the plunge because I was sick of the LA4 wait for the UK Version XEU
I flashed German LA4 with odin
My phone is now faster .... better keyboard and best of all I now have access to all the CSC's ..
If you flash an official firmware it doesnt affect the binary count ... I dont think it voids your warranty either because your flashing official samsung software
Here is a guide for flashing
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
All you do is download odin , download LA4 from german note (all shown on page)
extract the LA4 kernal .... open up odin , click on pda and click on where you saved the file
Put your note into download mode (power , home and volume down) ....
click volume up
Then connect your phone to the usb cable ...... you will get a yellow confirmation on odin and click start .. within 5 mins you have new flashed version .. it doesnt wipe your handset all settings are kept
Plus you will then be able to change your csc to which ever country gets the next update (usually germany)
Good luck well worth the plunge ..
As you handset is XEU you will retain english settings

Ditching original touchwiz firmware (DBT handset) with stock as-google-intended firm?

I remember a while back I tried to put on the firmware someone recommended as being as "original" and clean as possible but it would never work and I was forced to flash DBT firmware back on my phone. Since then I had ditched the whole idea.
But, since 6.0.1 is working so much nicer on my S5 mini compared to 5.1.1, I would like to know what are the steps, if there are any, that I can do in order to get a purely untouched virgin Android OS installed properly on my S5 mini DBT? Is this possible? If it is, which code (like mine is DBT) firmware would I need to download and what steps are needed to make it actually boot up and function properly?
Thanks.
I do not understand very well, when you say dbt, you mean to debloated?
DBT = german firmware

Samsung S10 AT&T (G973U) not getting updates since 1 August, 2019 Security Patch

Hey guys.
I bought my phone from AT&T retail shop in the US last year. But unfortunately I had to move back to my home country. Ever since the August 2019 Security Patch, I have yet to get any update. The AT&T website indicates that my phone is due to get an update in December 2019 but I have yet to get it.
Is there a way I can resolve this. Whenever I check for updates, it indicates that my phone is up to date. This happens also when I use Smart Switch application.
Samsung S10, Snapdragon 855
Model: G973U
Baseband Version: G973USQS2ASGK
Thanks in advance.
August? You are like 4 or 5 updates behind! Android 10 is out for the S10 now. You're probably going to have to flash the latest firmware using the patched version of Odin floating around the forum here.

Unfortunately since August. But thank you for this insight..I have been searching for days on what I should do. Though I would like to know when I do flash using Odin, will I start getting updates or do I need to update manually every time.
Also if there is any other way of solving this problem without having to flash my phone I am willing to give it a shot.
Flash whenever you want, but it will reset your phone unless CSC_home is used. You might get updates after flashing with Odin as long as your SIM card matches the firmware (i.e. T-mobile firmware and SIM), but then again you might be stuck using Odin to update every time.

Note9 Signapore version not getting OTA for Android 10

I have been using Note9 Exynos 128GB Singapore version. Last update was on October'19. I'm yet to get Android 10 update. Need to know is there anyone facing same issue? Anyone have any update on getting OTA for Singapore version?
According to Samsung, the note 9 in all Versions will not get Android 10 before February 2020. My Provider here in Europe told me the same, so i made oan update with odin.
But anyway, the update is officially not out yet, according to samsung.

If I do update using odin, will I need to do rooting? One I update using Odin, will there be official update coming regularly?
It hasn’t been release yet in Singapore.
Samsung said February. However today is Feb 26 and still nothing. The gang of three (Singtel, Starhub and M3) have to put their rubbish in the rom so they won’t meet the deadline I think. Every year the same story. Singapore gets less frequent update than other markets making Samsung phones a real security hazard. I have to praise Apple for cutting the telcos and going on their own update cycle.
I applied the update on my Note 9 but I am having battery life issues. Have to use power saving mode all the time if not the battery is gone within half a day. I will do a full reset once the official XSP built for Singapore is out.
My wife's s9 has received the update. Me on the other hand, note 9, still nothing. They are Soo freaking slow with updates.
I downloaded and flashed the German rom from sammobile website using odin. Now my note 9 is running One UI 2 and Android 10 with Feb 2020 security patch. Everything seems to be working well so far
Note: when flashing using Odin, select "home csc" to preserve user data, or "csc" for full wipe. Personally I did a full wipe
Using N960F bought from M1, using on Gomo network (previously Starhub)
Can you please teach me how to update my NOTE 9 128gb variant from STARHUB? I'm getting frustrated about this. Everyone in the whole world got the android 10 update, Singapore is always last on the list.

You should be getting it soon. As I got the Android 10 update a couple of months after it was released in Germany.
All the countries using the N960F Variant received the Android 10 update. There is even up to 4 different built with bug fixes and security updates.

You can follow these steps (works for both telco and retail models, so will work on your Starhub model too):
1. Download the firmware for N960F model from sammobile ( I downloaded both UK BTU and German DBT rom and both worked - currently using the German one, I think it doesn't matter which country the firmware is designed for as long as it isn't tied to a specific carrier).
Note: the rom is quite big, around 5GB so be patient. I left my laptop on overnight while the rom downloaded.
2. Unzip the rom and you should see 5 files inside the folder
3. Use Odin to flash the files (please backup all data before attempting to make any modification to your software - I used Samsung cloud to back up phone settings and manually backed up everything else to micro sd)
a) download latest odin version and unzip it. Run the exe
b) Add the respective files. The BL, AP, CP and CSC files are named accordingly. Make sure to select the correct files for each selection while flashing. To preserve data on your phone, select the home csc file instead of csc. Selecting csc will wipe the entire phone giving you a clean reset.
c) your phone needs to be booted to recovery mode in order to flash the rom
4. Enjoy your Samsung note 9 with Android 10
If unsure, just google for detailed instructions on how to use odin.
Hope it helps!

All noted! Thank you very much. Last question. My Note 9 from Starhub is still on plan, and only for starhub carrier. Can I change the firmware even if this one still not finished on payment?

Yup this is no issue. Flashing the official samsung rom via Odin is like manually updating the software and we are not making any "illegal" modification which can trip Knox, so no worry about warranty being voided.
I have attached a screenshot of my current software info. As you can see, my handset was bought from M1 shop. After I flashed a non-Singapore rom, the original carrier info remains intact so I can use the phone without any issue. In your case, after flashing the rom, your carrier info will still remain as Starhub
If you manage to update your phone successfully to Android 10 with no issue, just post it here so that others can update their phones too. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
Reminder: Please backup everything before updating to be on the safe side
I'm back! I followed your instruction and the instruction from Sammobile. Everything went well! So far no problem after updating to Android 10. At first I was worried that when I upgrade it, my phone will be locked or bricked because I'm still paying it monthly at Starhub. But now I can still use my phone. I made sure to back up first using Samsung Smart Switch. I love the android 10 update. Everything becomes smooth and fast! Thank you very much!

How To Guide [One UI 4.0 Beta] Video Installation Guide (Snapdragon & Exynos)

I wrote a full guide on how to flash One UI 4.0.
This can be implemented for any of the phones supported for the One UI 4.0 Beta. However I only own an S21 Ultra, so I'm only hosting the files linked within the guide for that device, but the other files can be found around here in the OTA download threads.

This is such a great guide!
Out of curiosity, is it normal for the beta build to periodically "restart"? I noticed that the lock screen flashed, reloaded, it required me to use the PIN (instead of face/finger print). When I checked the uptime on the phone that stayed the same.
Any ideas?
Can some tell me if I have a Verizon S21U (SM-998U) on 4AUIG how can I install the beta? Will this method work? Thanks

Yes this will work, you will have to use Odin 3.14.1 patcheD, downgrade to 998U1 XAA AUH9, then factory reset, enter adb sideload, flash beta 1, reboot, reboot to sideload, flash beta 2, factory reset, reboot, done.
All files are linked in the guide
EDIT:
OR you can use the 998U beta files lingering around here, really doesn't matter, only difference is that the CSC I believe has to match, so if you have 998U VZN, and the beta 1 update is for 998U TMB, then it's going to see that the firmware is different and I think it's going to fail, which means you have to flash whichever one is for the update zip first. Which the person who uploaded should say their exact firmware they were on that they captured the update from.
This is why U1 is just easier, there's only one, they're all XAA, no CSC stuff to worry about, no carrier bloatapps in the background. It's the ideal choice for the best experience.

Hi! My s21u CSC is ZTO (Brazil), part of OWO multi-CSC, and it's still on AUHB firmware. Can I manually update to AUHD? Or do I have to wait for the AUHD update specifically for my CSC and only then update to ZUID (Beta 1) and then to ZUJ1 (Beta 2)? Also, the device is not rooted yet.

You can manually wait but the likely hood of something for that specific model being leaked around here probably won't happen.
Best to just use patched odin to flash auh9, flash zuid beta one, reboot, flash zuj1 beta 2, factory reset, start from there and call it a day. wait for leaked updates to appear here, it's going to be the most common device to get leaked builds

Just follow this guide, but replace the initial firmware I have linked with Exynos firmware for SM-G998B AUHD, then flash the ZUIC file linked in that thread, from there follow along with the OTA section and flash ZUIC to ZUJ1 and you're in business.
From that point, you can continue to flash OTA update's as people capture the .bin file.
Alternativly, there's an updated section at the bottom of that opening post, where someone has also captured AUIE to ZUJ1. This will just go from the October Security patch of One UI 3.1 to One UI 4.0 Beta 2 directly, saves you a few steps out of the gate.
thanks for updating the guide to include exynos
So I switched to TMobile from Verizon so I have a actually TMobile phone. I enrolled to beta yesterday thinking I'd have it by now still haven't received it. The only update I got was the security update for September. Any idea help please haven't done this in a while and don't have the proper laptop at the moment to use odin. So help would be awesome plz.

Hello guys, anyone has the link to update beta 3 ZUJG to beta 4 on s21 ultra exynos?
