is it the 3t really the upgrade they claim it to be? - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

Okay I haven't seen a thread for this yet I don't know anyone in person other than myself with this phone so can't just go ask a friend I'm sorry if there has been a thread for this already if so I searched and could not find it. So I bought my 3t it's been about a week and I'm really liking it. But I got a little curious about if the hardware is really what they claimed it to be in the 3t so I used cpu-z to check the hardware info. And it says I have the snapdragon 821 which is what's supposed to be in the 3t and I got the 128gb version which is also 3t exclusive and that is the correct storage that my phone says it has. Then I decided to check the battery tab to see if it's the 3400mah battery which to my disappointment it was not what was displayed. It says my battery is 3000mah which is what the original 3 has in it. Here are screenshots. If anyone else with a 3t could check this on their device and let me know it would be a great help. I've already contacted oneplus and started a dispute on this. I Googled the number cause I didn't know it off hand and I noticed it's an 858 are code which is San Diego county and also just a few minutes from where I live cause I live in the San Diego county so asked where the office is located and they said they can't tell me which is very shady in my opinion. Any insight and screenshots from others would be a great help. Only users with a 3t though please as this is hardware issue that relates to only the 3t sorry 3 users nothing against you. Sorry of there is already a thread for this if so please fell free to delete and if you don't mind pointing me in the right direction that would be appreciated. Thanks in advance everyone.

Make sure that you are using the latest cpu-z version, they fixed the battery reading for the 3T. It could also be the rom that you are running, on RR it also shows 3400mah for me.

I got cpu-z straight from the play store so it's definitely that latest version. And I am using the RR rom and I'm still getting this 3000mah displayed. So it know sound like I've been scammed and did not get the device I paid for. I'm so pissed now.

Well I don't know if it changes anything but RR is a custom rom unified for 3 and 3t and cpu z can confuse because of software
First flash the stock rom and then install cpu z and then check

That's weird. Check this out

ive been looking around online and i already knew this information. the metal back of 3t the is supposed to be noticeably darker than the back of the original 3 and the color on the back of my "supposedly 3t" actually looks like the color of the 3. im starting to think i got scammed and am quickly losing trust in oneplus altogether.

These two devices do not share the same model number like is being claimed everywhere. I specifically asked one plus about this when I called them. They assured that they are separate model numbers for each device.

Try downloading the aida64 app, it has always shown 3400mah under the battery category for me no matter what rom I run.

o.o isnt the device just more impressive if it has really good battery life but a smaller battery? Thus worth more money? I mean look at the pixel phones >.>
or the M8 phone
or the m9...
or the samsung s series...
or the iphone...
i think the points been made. The smaller the battery the more expensive the phone >.> so we got a bargain if thats the case!

Please try another diagnostic apps first such as AIDA64 before you claimed that OnePlus has scammed you.

I got my 3T a few weeks ago. And I have changing ROMs since then.. I do remember somewhere in between I did notice my battery to show up as 3000 mah. However, at that point I was anyways planning on doing a clean flash of RR Rom. So I went ahead with that and then on checking CPU-Z my battery shows 3400 mah now.

I'm running stock oxygen os on OnePlus 3t 128gb having same issue. Snapdragon 821 with 3000mAh battery with CPU-Z
Are there any other ways to check your battery size?
Edit: Did some googling, tried different app, shows 3400mAh. Tried dialing *#808# and scrolled down to charger and got 3400mAh looks like it may be an issue with the way OnePlus chose it's model numbers. Model A3000 doesn't only correspond to the 3t series of phones.

Warning not to buy Flytouch 3 or clones.

For god's sake, whatever you do, don't buy:
Flytouch 3 superpad 2 (or any of its clones).
The support forum is filled with problems with the clones, too many to list.
The Ibex Flytouch 3 originals have very poor batteries, supposed to be 8000 mAh (2 x 4000), and are more like 2 x 1800. Most people are having troubles getting them to accept a charge at all.
Their internal GPS is locked to China, SOME people have managed to unlock them by spending a couple of hours deleting caches, rebooting, trying to re-fix the satellites, repeat until working or give up. MOST people still have not managed to unlock the GPS from China.
Market ONLY shows the free apps (something to do with fake sim numbers being too fake and illegitimate). When you are sent to market from an email, website, or even the tablets OWN auto update service, it won't show the app you are looking for.
They MAY appear to be cheap value-for-money Android tablet alternatives; trust me, they ARE NOT. Save up more money and get a proper named brand tablet.
Update:
My Flytouch 3 is no more, at about 4 days old the charging battery exploded, melting the FT3 and scorching the computer desk.
I urge anyone thinking of buying one of the Ibex Flytouch 3's, or its clones (Superpad 2 or 3) - DON'T!

People are always trying to find ways of getting a similar item for cheaper prices - I know, I did!.
Oh it's you Fluffbutt, I saw your whole song and dance on apad.tv the other day, not surprized they banned you. First you mess around with your battery config, then god only knows what else you did and then you blow up your tablet. Then claim it blew up on your desk.
Baring in mind no evidence what so ever anything really happened. Then you claimed that you burried your tablet under a load of used kitty litter, so couldn't show anyone the pictures to prove it, not surprized no one believes you. Shame on you.

i own this and for what i use it for its actually not bad updates are often and like all android devices its getting better with each one!
mind you my phone is faster ha
I got banned from there because they didn't want anyone warned of the faulty batteries, they're the most fanatic people over their FT3's.
So you assume I did a whole lot of things and it's my fault it exploded. You can assume anything.
"mess around with your battery config," - ChinaGrabber tell you to go to that forum for help, and do what's posted there. Now I'M to blame for doing just that?
It got buried under kitty litter because the fumes from burnt lithium batteries are toxic.
Shame on me?? you make assumptions!

What makes you think I feel any need to prove this to anyone here?
It happened. Whether you believe it or not is irrelevant to it happening and irrelevant to me..
my 32gb iBex Flytouch3 works perfectly. Would recommend iBex Flytouch3 (real FT3) to my friends.
I bought flytouch3 from taobao.com. It cost almost 250 USD.
It may be the most expensive one in taobao, but it works good.
It can standby at least 6 hrs, and the GPS works in Taiwan.
Market can show all apps including the charged apps.
I just bought one yesterday from chinagrabber, shame on me? From what I've gathered the information this is the best and most supported chinese tablet there is..
Yes another classic example of somebody not doing their homework before buying something and then blindly attacking it with a soldering iron and hacksaw.
I'm more than satisfied with mine, it's not the fastest piece of kit, but for €150 it's certainly worth the money if you have a good working knowledge of Android and now how to fix a few quirks.
If you read around the forums, there is support for all of them. I have yet to have found an issue that couldn't be remidied in one way shape or form. I bought mine for $150 US shipped. I'm no knocking Ibex. Just merely stating that their pad isn't the only option. Open minded-ness is what I'm getting at. I've heard a lot of bad things about ChinaGrabber's return policy's etc., and that left a bad taste in my mouth. I wanted an inexpensive pad with some support on the US side (I.e warranty issues). I know I could have purchased something else, but this was what I wanted.

I've now been playing with my FT3 couple of days and I'm very happy with it, with Tim5a rom everything works, Market (it shows paid apps if I buy them from my Android cellphone). GPS works well out of the box, it's fast, Youtube, Flash all working. Battery life is very good, I don't keep it on standby as it does eat the battery even without wifi off. If you've ever used a Android phone this feels like home and the performance is the same. Resistive screen just gets a little bit more to get used to compared to capacitive but it's really responsive. Videos play very nicely, only tried 720p but all worked without a single lag.
Hey this thread scared me at start but then it looks like it ended up very good.
cuz i'm waiting for mine to arrive and i wonder is there any complete guide how to speed it up and ect..?
Thanks in advance

Don't.
Market ONLY shows the free apps not to mention all the other problems (something to do with fake sim numbers being too fake and illegitimate). For YOUR OWN sake don't buy this piece. Really if you want an ANDROID tablet then save your money and buy a legitimate Android Tablet from a well known manufacturer. It's the WORST money I've ever spent in my life. PLEASE don't waste your time. And if you do and are satisfied with a cheap poor generic excuse for an android spending hours upon end of your life downloading and installing firmware, then more power to you, have fun. I just wish I would have saved my money than to have given it to scam artists or try to get help from those who need to help sale more CRAPWARE by saying its all volunteer. Really really real. (Now watch how I get called names and treated like dirt for posting this on a thread that is titled: Warning not to buy Flytouch 3 or clones.) It's crazy how easy it is to get caught up by weirdos at crappad tv who act like they are helping the world or something not following any of there own rules. Please DON'T be fooled by the posts that follow this saying how good it is. Believe me, it is not. Save a little more money even if its just 100 or 200 more. Get a LEGITIMATE ANDROID TABLET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this phone looks awesome BUT BIG FAIL

I see this phone last week, and was impressed by this MONSTER
first thing I do is taking my credit card and search on net for a good seller, i know this phone is on sale only at 12may
but my biggest surprise was his LTE capabilities.... really ?? a monster spec flagship phone... with only FDD LTE: 1800/2100/2600MHz ???
only 3 categories ?... i want this phone .... but without 800mhz (cat20) it will be a fail in many europe countries ...
and one strange thing too: this phone is announced nothere on the official website... why ?
Most xaomi phones are only meant for China, from what I've heard, and so only support Chinese bands, and nothing else.
It's quite a shame, since I'd happily buy this over the zenfone 2 if it came to the US.

1) Where did you get the idea that Asus won't release the bootloader?
2) The phone has barely been out. Give it some time for ROMs, they don't pop up overnight.
3) The P7k is also somewhat tempting, that's true [emoji14]

1. Yes, all menus are in English when the system language is English.
2. Ordered from aliexpress for 640 USD
3. Not sure if you mean with the shipment or if you break the device.
4. Battery life could be better honestly. I can get through the day, however I'm only getting about 4 hours SOT if I'm lucky. I was able to reach that point with my Nexus 5.

for point number 3 I meant if there are any warranty issues with the device.
for point number 4 I was looking on GSM arena and they showed the mi note as around 49 hours battery life which doesn't seem that good overall considering the mi note pro has a higher res screen.

Ah ok. Well as far as warranty goes, that would likely have to go through the 3rd party seller. So if they don't offer any type of warranty, you might be out of luck there. But yes the high res screen definitely has an impact on batter life. But it all depends on how you use your device I suppose. I can make it through the day and that is the important part for me

hi everyone
I need to have this phone desperately. They said it will be released on April 16. However, it still not available. If anybody knows where can I buy this phone online please post the websites. I want the global 64GB version EVA-L29

Be careful when buying phones from China. Onnce I had purchased a lenovo phone from aliexpress and hate it. There was tons of bloatware, Chinese fonts all over, Google apps are missing and I couldn't update the phone. I ended it up selling it for much lower price. Lesson learned

My P9 from a shop on aliexpress just came yesterday... and oh yes, it is pretty awesome! Going to use it a couple days and plan on doing a extensive comparison review to my LG G5 in my series of review called "Some Guy's Review..." I did one comparing LG G5 to the S7 Edge and people seemed to appreciate it... I have no brand loyalty so it a pretty honest review IMO
I try to sum up the general user / pro-user experience... what most people run into and care about.... plus stuff I always look for that are my "musts" for things I do in my daily life...
Not getting deeply into it, here's a quick 12-hour impression:
1. Design - It's a pretty phone, I got mine in Gold because the 64GB / 4GB only comes in Gold in China (EVA-AL10 Version is Chinese Version of EVA-L29 International Dual SIM). Let's say a Sony Xperia Z5 and an Iphone had a wild sexual encounter.... the result is a Huawei P9 (Basically an all metal Z5)
2. Snappiness - This phone rocks... didn't slow down even during setup... have yet to notice it heat up either! Have to put it through my grueling non-scientific testing of playing Clash Royale... hahaha. Really though, I won't do a AnTuTu or anything like that because those tests are pretty much meaningless to real world experience usage. Hope to have more later
3. Camera - have yet to take a "real" picture with it... tried it out, seems to have a lot of custom settings and a really good "pro" mode. more to come
4. Battery - seems spot on to all recent Huawei Phones, big, long lasting (that's what she said.... )
5. EMUI - I am actually a fan of EMUI... especially with another launcher laid over (I use a HTC Sense Launcher Port). The amount of customization may annoy the regular user... but coming from having a Huawei Mate 8, I understand what you need to do to get everything working like you like. I will give more details later if it suffers from the "sleeping sickness" as I call it... this is where due to all the great battery customizations Huawei throws in, certain app notifications stop working after awhile because the app goes into hibernation and never comes out... time will only tell.
Look for a review probably Monday or Tuesday! I may even do a 3-way just for fun....!!! (3-way review... get your mind out of the gutter... hahaha)

Thanks for the positive feedback - I am reassured there are no issues with the Chinese version. I look forward to your review just in time before mine arrives. [emoji2]

It also comes with a free clear hard case and screen protector from Huawei... pretty sweet deal :good:
The shipper even threw an additional TPU Clear Case... (its not my style but hey free stuff is always cool...)

How does the gold finish look 'in the flesh'? Wasn't sure about getting that or waiting for the white. Couldn't wait in the end...

Mind you its in the hard case that has little "beady" texture on the inside... here's 2 pics... it definitely looks high end and not cheap, feels substantial in hand and solidly built

Personally I wanted the darker gray version... and originally was going to get a P9 Plus... but when it was going to take about a 1/2 of month until it releases... I had them switch it to a regular P9.... of course, now I have to try to get a refund for the difference which they agreed to... but will be interesting to see if they give it.... :good:
Some phone sites had the white one to review... which is white ceramic and not metal... and many said that it "felt" cheap...
There is no way one could think this phone is cheap... like I said, it's like the design (rectangle) of a Z5, but thinner and made of metal..
Nice. I had the Z2 a few years back and like the 'slab' design and square feel.
Did you have to install google contact and calendar sync from the Huawei store or did all that stuff work out of the box?

they had it installed but call me crazy that I like to factory reset and put it on myself... especially a phone, from CHINA, that I may put my credit card and passwords into... just sayin'..
It's pretty easy... use HiAPP to search google... install store, then install everything else from the store... calendar sync worked immediately... had to install contact sync apk from apkmirror... then I installed the google dialer... its not all that difficult. I can confirm no NFC, at least not anywhere I have found it... doesn't really matter since Android Pay won't work anyway....

I have no brand loyalty so it a pretty honest review IMO

can you change themes in EMUI just like Sony xperia phones?
how is the loudspeaker?
thanks again can't wait for the full review

This Chinese version come with original ROM or Modified by vendor? Thanks.
Could You tell us that dual sim in this model is active or not? You can talk from sim1 and receive calls from sim2?

Need help from who already bought the 3t

Hey guys, I saw on a YouTube unboxing that you get a 5€\$ promo code with the phone,so my question is, can we trade it? After I bought the phone, and I receive it, I will give you back mine. The reason that why is important to me, I have ~140000huf in my bank account, and the phone costs around 141000huf. So with that coupon, I can lower it to around 139500, So I can buy it, and I don't have to worry about getting the phone sold out, because the waiting time is already increased to 5 weeks. Thanks in advance, and I hope you can understand my poor English.
I would like to see that video. I've had 2 OPO an OP3 and now an OP3T (OP3 and OP3T were bought almost exactly at release) and I've never seen anything like that included in my stuff.

Needing a good replacement battery for RN 4x (snapdragon/mido)

I heard Nohon is good but I'd like to hear from anyone who has replaced the battery as to which one is good. The one for that model is the bn43 correct?

Have you found anything?I'm in search of a BN43 battery too and i have to say the whole subject is very confusing. For a start you can't really be sure that the so called original batteries are indeed original. There are more than enough excellent reviews about these but most people just "5star-ing" anyone that delivers the item on time and just 1 or 2 actually test the battery.
I heard Nohon is good too, but then i run into a review that says that it's almost as good as the original at start but then degrades rapidly in 2-3 months and its actually worse than the 2 years old original.
Also can anyone share with us how we can identify an original battery?I see some have the s/n in one row and others in two.Has it something to do with the identification of the originality of a battery? Can someone post a photo of his original BN43 or at least BN41 battery? Thanks!

Not sure. I did order a Nohon but haven't received it yet. I saw the good reviews of it but didn't know about the 2-3 month issue. We'll see. With accubattery app it says the capacity of my current battery is about 2800mah. With RR Pie and Franko kernel I'm getting more than enough charge for my needs. I didn't plan on replacing the battery immediately. I wanted the spare (Nohon) in case I wanted to replace it. I'll keep looking for an original if I can find a real one. I may end up getting the redmi Note 8. Not the pro since the pro is mediatek and I won't use one of those again since they don't release source code.

Just to make it clear by review i mean a buyers short comment for the battery.
2800 is too freaking low, maybe in 3-4 charges you'll get better result but i doubt it'll be more than 3300 mah.I think i'll go for an "authentic" and see what happens. Can you post a picture of your original battery since i can't be sure about my battery cause i bought the phone used.

My original battery is 2800 after 2 1/2 years of use. Haven't received my new battery yet. So yes the 2800 is low which is why I'm looking for a replacement. I haven't pulled the original battery yet.
