I am running Android 4.4.2. I have installed the latest FB app v115.0.0.20.72
I have no problem starting FB Live, but the video is distorted. My head is elongated from top to bottom?
Changing the camera resolution does nothing.
As of now, I do not know how to verify if the TF701T conforms to the FB Live specs for some of the requirements like I-frame and video encoding?
Can anyone confirm that FB Live works on the TF701T or not?
Thanks,
Ray
So there were 29 views....I'm sure most of you actually have an ASUS TF701T? So would you mind trying to access Facebook Live and let me know if it works or not?
Thanks,
Ray

I just read about this app. I can't find it in the market though the article said it should be available. I thought I'd share.

I couldn't find it in the market on my GTab, but found it on my phone. I'll try side loading it tomorrow. Good find. Thanks for sharing.

tried it on the Tab (VegaN ROM) and wouldn't open. Doesn't mean that there's another way to load it. I'll keep trying as i'd love a good vid chat app.
Wouldn't open on my Hero either.
Bump...
I've tried ooVoo as well but it closes as fast as it opens. I find it hard to believe that there is no real, workable video chat option. I've unsuccessfully tried:
ooVoo
Yahoo Messenger w/ Video add on
Qik
Fring
I'm in the middle of talking my in-laws in PA in to getting a gTab but it's less justified w/o the video chat option. Has anyone tried other solutions?
I agree... I haven't found anything that works like Skype does on the computer. We used to use Skype on the Laptops a lot for video chats with family and when I am away from home on work. I was really hoping I could find a decent solution for the tablets, but nothing really works well. I thought Qik might have been the answer, but that doesn't work well either.

Qik works.. I have qik working on mine right now.. used it to chat between my cell and my tablet.
So does Yahoo Messenger w/ Video. I have it running on the TnT Lite 3.0.0 build right now.

Have you tried Tango?
Tango won't install for me on TnT Lite 3.0 or the previous version.
Yahoo Messenger w/ video chat works on mine running Vegan beta 3, but the webcam is sideways.
Ditto, and bump.
Running Vegan Beta 4. I can get Yahoo to work, but my video is sideways. Anyone know of a fix?
AFAIK, there is no fix for the sideways video. Qik and Yahoo runs on my tablet, but the video does not consistently run and connect. I need something that works like skype does on a laptop. Good audio, high quality video and works everytime. I travel for work weekly and spend nights out of the house. When we had the laptop we would use skype every night. Now with the tablets, there is no solution. Kinda sucks to keep a laptop around just for skype use. Oh well... bleeding edge.
Anyone tried Yahoo messenger, android-to-android? Does that have the sideways problem?
Jim
P.S. Installed on stock 3053.
Yes, Yahoo Messenger from G-Tab to G-Tab has the sideways video issue... when it works.
oovoo video chat software
I was able to get this program on vegan 7. Currently doing IMs and VOIP.the video chat is blocked out on the program and in the programs settings. I think with the growing number of gtab users we can figure this out. I am using this right now talking to wife on her PC.I will continue on solution but I'm just a rookie compared to some
Have you tried my ReelPortal software? It's proven to work on the G Tablet:

It works with Android/PC/Linux/Mac, etc. The interface is a bit clunky. So I'm working on changing that at the moment.
Hi
I bought T325 and i wanna use it as a big GPS (when i'm passenger, it's more funny than watching video while wife is driving)
So i tried Waze. Working fine on all my FullHd devices, but not with T325 2560*1600. Screen is not fulfilled.
Waze is not screen resolution compatible atm with T325. Porbably app will be updated in the future, devices like LG G3 are coming with huge resolution.
Is there a way to solve this problem for the moment, modifying DPI for example ?

I have lot of white squares on the map using WAZE SAMSUNG TAB PRO 8.4" SM-T325 on the corners or at the top and the bottom! How can it be corrected?
youtube.com/watch?v=wn1AU0qziow&feature=player_detailpage
I've just bought a glaxy tab pro 8.4 for the specific reason to use waze ( i'm a taxi driver ) to my horror i'm having the same problems as described here. I had a tab 4 7 inch and it worked fine. Please be a solution for this, is there any way around this?
Guys, haven't received my T320 yet, but try fiddling around with 'Xposed' + 'App Settings', some DPI change or fullscren force would probably resolve this.
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but Waze still has yet to fix the rendering issues on higher res screens. I've played with a bunch of settings in X App Settings and nothing seems to help. I think we'll have to wait on a fix from Waze
I have googled how to display just the desktop on gear VR and always come up with results/aps showing how to stream games to the headset. All I want is to display the desktop so i can launch whatever i want (normal youtube, websites etc) all while using the gear vr. Latency is not much of an issue with this i would not think.
Anyone doing this? and if so can you share how (aps etc) or if its already been documented can you point me in the right direction?
Thanks

Not a single person has done this...or wants to?
actually thats not true, with secondsight we're doing exactly this late 2013
here's some poor demo's of it.

We made a custom libsurfaceflinger that renders all 2d apps in SBS mode, we're updating it for android lollipop but it's not ready yet.

First Vid did not play but second one did. I like the idea with the augmented setup. I was more talking about a simple solution like using Splashtop to send the desktop to the Gear VR and then some type of app that splits the streaming screen into SBS mode. Anything like that?
Just discovered this, not sure it's an Emui 9 issue but it worked fine earlier. All pictures and even the splash screen is pixelated when using Google photos on my Chromecast. YouTube and Netflix are fine, screencast however isn't. Same issue there.
Casting from a Samsung S7 and a Huawei tablet works fine. Head anyone else the same problem? I've posted on the product forums as well, but I have no hope of getting an answer there.
Yeah, it's been like that since 9.0.0.108 Beta.
All my other devices works as good as google photo can be but the P20 Pro with Pie is a mess :/
As a workaround you can use Allcast

Thanks, but this is for local files right? I have at least 20k photos on Google Photos.
Well there is Google Drive support at least.
But I guess the app works best with local media. I haven't tried anything else yet.

Today my P20 Pro received the first post Pie update 9.0.0.195.
The pixelated casting from Google Photos to Chromecast seems to be fixed \o/.
I've got the same issue. Thought it was something with Google so contacted their support but after an hour they remained clueless. Again like you, fine on other devices, just the Huawei p20 pro.????
Hey folks
I bought a Chromecast with Google TV and I am experiencing an issue and I wonder if anyone can save me. I am trying to use an app which I know it wasn't developed for this device, but I know it works because have it installed on an Android TV. The difference is that on Google TV its opening as portrait and sits in the middle of the screen - doesn't stretch, where in the Android TV it expands and takes the whole screen. Same thing happens, for example, with Instagram. I've tried a dozen of apps that supposedly force the orientation, but none of them resolved this issue.
Is there anything that can be done or am I am chasing ghosts?
Thank you in advance
is there maybe an option in the settings of that app to set its orientation?
Unfortunately there isn't

Make the panel completely transparent in the settings, there are many different functions. Sorry, I write through a translator, I'm Russian.
@unleetz
You can try the little app attached
Works fine for me
