If you had taken kernel backup when u flashed Andromodx, then flash Andromodx again thru twrp and restore the previous kernel, otherwise if you didn't have previous kernel backup, then dirty flash your rom and gapps, Andromodx will remove automatically

[Q] Not able to install custom recovery in Xperai SP 4.3 .205 Root & BL unlocked

Hi,
I am using Xperia SP, C5302, with Android version: 4.3 and Firmware: 12.1.A.205. I want to install CyanogenMod 11 in my mobile.
Going though different tips and tricks, I was able to root my phone, as well as unlock the bootloader. However, I'm unable to install a custom recovery. It is advised everywhere not to proceed with installing any custom ROM without installing custom recovery.
Currently not able to install CWM recovery in my phone. Also when I tried to boot my phone into recovery, it is not working. Is it because there are no custom recovery installed?
If anyone can tell me how to install the custom recovery in my system, will be very helpful. I've tried installing ROM Manager from Play Store, but it is unable to recognize my device. Also Quick Boot app from Play Store is not able to boot into recovery mode. Also tried using Flashtool and fastboot, not working either. :crying:
Right now, I'm not able to proceed with installing CM11 ROM in my Xperia because I'm afraid I will not be able to boot into recovery mode and hence will not be able to complete the installation and ultimately end up with a bricked phone.
Any help will be greatly appreciated..!!
Regards,
~Ayan

but if you want to install a rom (on UBL) this is not mandatory to use recovery before bcoz before flahing the rom u have to flash the boot.img of that rom and it contains recovery... so it is good when u are on a UBL...
or just flash a kernel that have recovery

Thanks deathviper. Followed the instructions and got it installed. Also completed installing CM11 ROM in my Xperia. The link was very helpful. I also followed this link: http://www.teamandroid.com/2014/03/...11-xperia-sp-c5302-c5303-kitkat-custom-rom/2/ to install CM11 ROM in my Xperia SP.
Thanks again..!!

I've allways thought that a locked bootloader would break your boot to a non-stock kernel. I think I read it from doomlord.
Now I wonder if it only blocks fastboot...
Recently I saw a post about CM10.2 working on locked devices... Now you're saying the same, maybe it started working lately somehow...
Though... Sure you saw that work?
I'm about to relock my device and take my chances, should get to it
Update: You may not want to test something for the first time... This one is tested: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2649923
It's a much longer way. To start with you must get root and CWM recovery on 4.1.2, only to get ROOT on 4.3.

Lol.
If you just uncheck the "recovery" option in spft, then TWRP will remain undisturbed.
And BTW, the rom rebooting to recovery is a problem either in the flashing by the recovery, or by bad rom.

If you can’t find any other way, then try installing stock rom using sp flash tools, most probably this will solve the issue.
Thank you for the reply but.

EUI encrypts storage resulting in need of wiping your phone.. Wipe internal storage also before installing custom roms.. Also use Google camera if you install lineage in the future its not perfect but it works 9/10 times..

I was facing same problem and i know what u did wrong.
U only installed recovery in fastboot but u didn't root using twrp at 1st try. Am i right?
Just follow full instructions given on YouTube video and don't forget to root even if u don't want to..
EUI encrypt our device so format data is necessary.
Install adb drivers on your phone by connecting it to the pc in fastboot mode and install setup on your pc....

I have tried this method to solve my nvram err=0x10 , but it doesnt work . I did follow all the steps . Any alternative ? I'm facing wifi intermittent drop now . It's annoying

Also tried this , but it doesnt work also
If you don't have an nvram backup you can flash this zip:
https://www.needrom.com/download/nvram-imei-fix-for-k3-note/
It will give you a new shared IMEI (illegal technically) so here is a nice tutorial on how to change your IMEI manually:
https://youtu.be/yNburr5YiB8
I have broken pretty much every aspect of this K3 but it keeps on going, what a great phone.

Weird, what rom are you running? I get nvram error on every rom I flash now and this always fixed it. I'd say go back to the stock Lenovo rom via flashtools and try to fix the error from there, make a backup and then clean flash everything.

Depending on how you formatted can cause serious problems, I broke my last phone because I was messing around on flashtools and formatted the wrong thing. I am running dotOs and got nvram error and that fix I posted earlier solved it. Can you try that rom from needrom?

Camera not working after some flashing

So basically I unlocked my mi 8 and tried some of the roms and kernels. First I flashed the twrp recovery. I flashed two roms. After that I forget about the zip that disables the verification, I got the popular issue where the recovery doesn't open after flashing it. Then I found the solution and installed the official rom via fastboot, then I flashed the recovery the proper way. Everything was fine, I flashed the official pie 9 rom again, I also flashed the eXtremeKernel V2. Later I noticed that when I open the camera it doesn't show anything on it. I tried using a third party camera app (OpenCamera) it didn't worked either. I'm sorry for the way I wrote it (it's a bit unlogical) but I hope someone can help me out with this. Thanks
Flash last official rom via mi flash (!!!!!! CHANGE CHECKBOX FROM CLEAN ALL AND LOCK TO CLEAN ALL!!!). Load installed ROM and open camera, if it's working go to flash costum ROM. And it's should work without problems.
Thanks for help I tried that but it's not working :/
