No touch sounds? - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

On my Oneplus 3T running Oxygen OS 4.1.1, I don't have any touch sounds. It seems to make no difference whether they are turned on in settings>sound>system. I only got the phone yesterday, I noticed there was no touch sound with the preinstalled Oxygen OS 3.x.x either. Is this a bug / feature of oxygen os or am i missing something? All other sounds can be turned off / on properly.
Please, literally any owner respond

I noticed the same thing

Thanks for your response. After putting my ear to the phone I've discovered that there are touch sounds, but they are so quiet I cannot otherwise hear them. I have poor hearing, but I'm not deaf. It's strange that solely the touch sounds are so quiet.

Problem with short sounds.

Hey guys! So I'm always on here asking more technical questions, but I realized that I never asked about why the Nexus 6 for some reason doesn't like to play short sounds! For instance, the sounds when you like stuff and share stuff in the Facebook app, or the ding sound from Facebook Messenger. As well as other short sounds. Is this just mine? Or does this phone just do that? Thanks again guys!
I have the same thing happen on my phone. When it receives a notification, sometimes the first 1/4 second or so is very low in volume and then the sound picks up to a normal level. Weird for sure.
Then I'm not the only one, it's weird and I wonder if it's a software bug or even supposed to be a software feature! Lots of times, if it's a short sound, the phone just vibrates and skips the sound altogether!

Same here...
Yep me too, intermittently, on Cataclysm suspect it's an M issue.

Might not be the same issue but I found the same thing with ringtones - starts out very low initially and then returns to normal volume. Not sure it is an issue inherent with M since I haven't had it happen with most of the modified M roms but did have the issue with the M versions of Cataclysm I've flashed. Also had similar issue with some L roms also.
I hate this low volume bug and have started using https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ryosoftware.notificationsmanager... It works excellent.. Set up repeating notification for program ur having problems with, for me is FB messenger.. U get a simultaneous double notification sound first time and u can setup time interval for re-notification... Free version you can pick just one app, but paid version unlimited apps and I think was like $2 bucks or so... Well worth it... Hopefully helps someone... Flash safe lol

Some of these half sounds are freaky!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this has been an issue since this phone was released. It has been for me, at least. Every sound starts off very quiet and increases to normal after a second or two. I hated it at first but I've learned to live with it.

I've had it since I got the phone on 5.0.1 yea and still happens today.
Yea, this phone has always done this. Definitely not a Marshmallow issue.

So. Is there absolutely no solutions for this? I recently switched from SlimLP to stock Marshmallow and now I keep missing notifications since the sound is sometimes basically inaudible. I didn't have any problems with notification or any other volumes with SlimLP. Kinda sucks how switching back to stock broke such an essential feature especially since stock doesn't have notification LED either.
Nexus 6 have 3 main audio issues;
1- Volume normalization for certain frequencies. Some songs are really loud(funky, pop types), some are just fading suddenly(rock or metallic), just try to use a good equalizer program or viper.
2- Voltage dependent volume lowering. This is an issue with amplifier chipset, some kernels are disabling them(blu-spark, hellscore etc) but at very low voltages it is still effective.
3-Ascending sound. This is what causes notification sound problems. Actually this can be experienced all android system sounds and lots of apps that use them(whatsapp message send click, keyboard clicks, notificaitions etc.). Only way to solve it for now is to use another program for notifications. I'm using lightflow for led configuration and some notificaiton sounds like whatsapp, facebook messenger. You just need to switch volume control in notification settings to lightflow volume control, also you must disable original sounds to none. It is not a good solution, yes and I hate dropping google keyboard sounds but for now it is te only way .
Definitely this issue wasn't on L stock Rom, after upgrading to M stock Rom, my notification went to hell.

Can you tell how u set lightflow for Facebook messenger? I set it up and still issue persist with messages, did I just waste £2.00?

Audio hissing at low volumes

I’ve been using AOSP ROMs pretty much the whole time I’ve had this phone so I can’t remember how audio quality was on global stable.
About 2 months ago I got sick of audio static at low volumes, so I switched to xiaomi.eu. The problem remained, so I thought I’d wait for MIUI 10 but the problem is still there on the latest beta build.
I tried a bunch of fixes from XDA but none of them worked, so I’ve just been putting up with it. Apparently China MIUI has superior audio to Global, but I loaded the config file from the China ROM which didn’t work. And doesn’t xiaomi.eu use the China ROM anyway?
A bunch of old reviews say that the Mi 5 has crystal clear audio, so I really want to figure it out. I have tested it with a bunch of headphones and the issue is always there -- even using FLAC audio files.
Has anybody else had this problem and managed to fix it?
Edit: I should add, this is only through the 3.5mm headphone jack. The speaker sounds fine.
Using non MIUI roms I've found out that static/background noise is lower after turning every "audio improvement" off.
Other than that really can't help...

Yeah I noticed that too. But still, I couldn't never get it to sound very clear. Thanks for that though.

Just got the phone in hand. Ask your questions.

I do not have access to wifi right now so I can't test that part but I can answer any questions you guys might have.
Just got mine last night. You having any luck with MMS? I'm using a Fi sim card, SMS works, but no dice on the MMS.
Nevermind, got MMS and SMS working. Made some adjustments to APNs. GSM with Fi sim getting strong Band 4 reception in my area. Everything works fine for $199...
Crappy camera(not really surprised) and slow fingerprint sensor aside, it's a pretty good phone. The display is very impressive for $200.
Anyone figure out how to root it ?

Do you have a link? It's $250 on Amazon.
I have the "new" Bold N1 phone on android 9 pie, and I thought this was an issue with the phone BUT the speakerphone and headphone volume in calls(media and notification sounds is loud enough) is LOWER than every other volume on the phone and super ****ing quiet. When you go to the sound settings it gives you 4 slider bars for volume, media, ringer etc and they give you a test sound when you lift your finger off the slider, well the call volume(not the ringer) is all the way up and WAY quieter than every other slider bar test sound when it is all the way up, I tested the same slider on my pixel 3 with android pie 9 and the exact same thing, does anyone know how to make the speakerphone/in call/in call headphone volume louder? it seems like its capped as the rest of the sounds on the devices are loud and clear.
I was about to do an RMA for the device but the same problem is on the pixel 3 as well running android 9, has anyone ran into this? If you are on android 9 on any phone, Go into your settings and goto sounds and put every slider up high and listen and see if the call volume beep slider is MUCH lower than the other sliders and reply to this please or if you have a fix tell me! it makes talking on the phone almost unusable with how quiet it is and is making me want to pull my hair out.
As proof its android 9 pie and NOT either of the phones I downloaded a secondary texting app called Textnow and placed a phone call through there and low and behold the speakerphone was loud and so was my headphones but it uses data and is not my actual phone number so not usable full time so something is happening with the actual phone software app on the phones and not a speaker defect. I have tried different phone apps too from the playstore but they all connect to the same dialer and therefore use the phone instead of textnow using their own dialer/phone software.

Just google root for Helio P70. There are a few apps to root it. I am using mine for work so rooting isn't an option.

I do not have this problem either on my Pixel 3 or this phone. It's loud enough to be used a speaker phone during call. I am on T-Mobile.
I haven't had any loudness issues, but I am experiencing the infamous Android Bluetooth "stutter". Overall, for 200 bucks, it's a pretty decent phone. OLED screen is worth the price alone. Headphone jack and wireless charging are nice. Build quality seems pretty good. Almost stock software is a bonus. But this is a budget phone, so... Haven't noticed much lag that you might expect from a device with the P70 chipset. The screen is actually a little "punchier" than the 3aXL I had. At least it seemed so to me. But again, it costs 200 bucks (from Blu/Bold with $50 launch discount). Had to tinker around to get Fi sim working (my Sony H9493 and Nexus 5 with Ubuntu Touch needed zero mods for Fi sim to work) and the Bluetooth stutter may be a deal breaker if I can't straighten it out. Also, expect zero customer service and few if any software updates along with a shady reputation... Anyway, just my two cents.
Ive been looking at rooting mines and I've google how to root the Helio P70 but I couldn't find anything the search came back with different phones did you have a link what I should look for about rooting the n1
Warning guys!
The first process: having a stock ROM!
Other situation: someone with experience for revive phone if happen anything wrong.
Possible process ROOT:
- patched boot with magisk
- TWRP
So think about....

Frameroot is known to work on Mediatek SOC. Try that.

You can't just pop a sim into an unknown unlock phone with Verizon. You gonna have to call CS and beg them to let the device active on Verizon. Good luck with that.
Okay, just found the original OEM for this phone. It's call Centric S1(which strangely MSRP in India for $278 USD)
There are root articles for that phone but they probably will not work due to N1 having July 2019 security patch with Android 9.
So.... I thought the P70 will run fornite but I keep getting device not supported... Was I wrong about the P70 supporting fornite?

That's weird. . . I still can't get this thing rooted. On the other hand, it's pretty snappy ??
Can someone make it clear - it has eMMC or UFS storage type? Thanks in advance.

Anyone experiencing low volume after one ui update?

Since my phone (exynos) was updated to one ui a few months back, the max volume is much lower. Especially noticeable on in call and loudspeaker. I'm seriously over it. Every update brings a new issue.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Dolby Atmos is it on ? As i was experiencing low volume when i up dated to A10 it was for media but turning on Atmos fixed it, and my call volume is fine!
I'm on OneUI 2.0 and both in-call and media volume is quite loud. Dolby Atmos always turned on of course. I never knew what it was like on anything other than Anroid 10 as I updated my phone the same day I received it

Alarm doesn't sound through speakers with headphones plugged in

So I have this problem where I can't make the alarm sound through speakers when headphones are plugged in, but this only happens with all custom ROMs I tried, with MIUI it works fine and the alarm sounds through speakers. There are some alarm apps that claim to be able to work with speakers exclusively, but it just doesn't work for me. It is a shame because I don't like MIUI very much, but I'm kinda forced to use it because of this.
Is there any solution for this issue on custom ROMs, or is this a AOSP issue?
Hey there, same Problem here.
That was so important for me, that i bought and old Samsung S7 and ran it with Android 7.1.2 Nougat.
I found out, that they removed this feature on Android 8 Oreo.
Now, i have to say that i am using this S7 with Lineage Android 7.1 (i switched days ago from Resurection Remix from 2018) BUT with the newest Security Updates and guess what, its not working anymore :-(
Another problem was fixed, but now i have to deal with that annyoing situation as on pie and Q.
Maybe a developer read this and can point me to a file that i have to change myself to bring that function back.
I dont get it..
Cheers
Update: for those who might be interested.
have still my S7, but now using a S10e. Very nice device! don't regret.
Running Lineage Android 11 and alarm is doing sound through speakers even headphones are plugged in, yay!! Finally!
