An easier way to do it would be to long press the reading mode button, after which you'd select your desired screen mode. I always do it like that to go back to basic/sRGB mode.

Is there anyway to rotate a picture manually? i.e instead of having to tilt/turn the phone. Im having an issue where when i take a photo with the phone held sideways (to take wide shots) it never displays the correct way when i want to view them
If i take a wide shot, i then goto view it and it shows the wide shot when holding the phone normally (in portrait mode), and then turns it 90 degrees when i turn the phone sideways (when all i want is for it to show the picture as i took it when i turn the phone sideaways)

i use this for all programs instead of using software if you dont mind losing what button was already mapped to - go to start/ settings/ "buttons" and 2. assign program select "rotate screen"
ok, ive set one of the buttons to rotate screen....but what buttons do these actually relate to? these were all set to <context menu> beforehand, and it wouldnt let me leave until i had set each button as unique (therefore i couldnt leave them all as <context menu> any more
in my case it is mapped to the call button, I press and hold the call button.

I've had exactly the same problem, here's how I resolved it.
If you go to Start>Settings>Programs>Pictures & Videos and then select the picture that you need to change, then select Menu and then Edit and the left soft key will now say Rotate, just hit that until the pic is facing the way you want and click OK and it will save it in that orientation
yes, but how did you know it was the call button you were mapping? each line just says 'button' except for the last one which says button 1(hold)
it doesnt actually say what each button is for :s
and i want to find a way of rotating it correctly through the touchflo interface rather than have to go and change it manually each time
I've noticed on HTC Home, that there is a button to change from portrait to landscape and vice versa,
i was just wondering if there is a way to associate this function to one of the buttons?(voice CMD) or the internet key on the front
thanks
josh
Sure, just search for it. Took me 10 seconds to find it.
I've just spent 5 minutes, and I can't locate the answer.
It's times like this that I realise how lucky we are to have members who know *exactly* where to look though. Then tell us that they know.

Screen rotation
I've an Italian device, so I try to guess the correct path:
Choose Start/Settings/Buttons
In the upper pane, choose the button You want to use to perform the "rotate screen" function
Choose the function you want (<Screen rotate> I suppose) from the combo box in the lower side of the screen.
Hope this helps

you have to hold the button for a few seconds 2 at least, unless you are using some kind of app to remap the keys, this works very well.
I want the HTC screen back not this ugly screen. I also only have 3 slide screens now too.
Uhm... we are going to need a lot more information from you to be able to help.
What did you do before you got the stock android home screen?
Tell us the steps you did to create your issue. We are not psychic.
some screen popped up asking me about HOME and HTC Sence. I clicked Home because I thought it would take me to my home screen and I clicked it to do it by default, because this screen kept showing up for the last 2 days. I know it has something to do with the toddler lock I installed, because it was that program asking me. It happened because my daugter turned the phone off some how while it was still playing.
1. Press MENU button.
2. Press Settings.
3. Press Applications.
4. Press Manage Applications.
5. Wait for the OS to compute application usage.
6. Scroll down the list until you see HTC Sense and select it to go to the Application Info page.
7. Press the Clear Defaults button.
8. Press the HOME button. You should be prompted to select which app to compete the action with. Select HTC Sense and chose to make this the default action.
Hope this helps.

that didn't work but your instructions helped because the next step was to go select HOME instead and clear the defaults there. Maybe that's what you meant.
haha sorry... I'm clearly not awake yet. At any rate, glad you got it sorted!
Happy new year!
Hey guys, i have a captivate and im running ICS AOKP with nova launcher prime. My power button is near broken. It always sticks and requires multiple presses before a response. Is there a way to open power options (you know, it brings up the shutdown, airplane mode and reboot options) without pressing the actual power button with nova launcher or a google play app?
Eh...
I dont know of anything. That darn power button is a problem for SOO soo many people. However, something that may help you is going into setting, go to display, and hit volume rocker wake. This will allow you to wake up the device by pressing the volume buttons. Also, if you need to go into reboot options, try rom manager. You can access recovery from there. This is the easiest method I have heard about this issue.
Thanks for your advice. To be more specific, i wanted to be able to shutdown when i wanted. I had forgotten about the rom manager thing.
Also, something cool: If you use Nova launcher, you can change a setting to make the phone wake with the vol up/down. Also, if you buy the donate version and pair it with the app "screen off and lock", you can sleep and lock your device by tapping anywhere on the home screen twice. Its really nifty. Doing that makes you not even need to press the power button anymore....except when you want to shutdown, restart, or take a screenshot.

There are several roms floating around in the development section that have extended toggles. Usually this feature has reboot, recovery, and power off as options. I can't say which (if any) of the ICS roms have the extended power menu.
I can also say that MIUI's standard toggles have reboot and power on it.
Could you use QuickBoot for rebooting options?
Use my latest ROM
It has Search button remapped as Power. Both short and long press work!
I don't even use Power button anymore - Volume buttons to wake up!
Additional bonus - Search now works as Camera shutter!
ROM is in my sig.
