Need some help about random MAC addresses - Mi 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
Recently I acquire a MI 3, but as long I flash virtually "ANY" custom ROM it will mess up my WiFi and Bluetooth MAC address. This is not the original MAC address that came with the device (IMEI is intact though), however if I just use stock MIUI it will be fine, but I don't wanna use MIUI since it sucks a big time. Any idea?

[Q] wifi problem (azusaROM 1.04.29062010)

hi, I bought a second hand tattoo last month, the previous owner installed azusa 1.03 on it but wifi didn't work at all (I was able to switch on the wifi) So I flashed with the last Azusa ROM (1.04).
first the wireless worked fine, but, I think after a reboot, the phone wasn't able to get IP address on every AP I tried. however I can connect a wireless network if I set a static IP on the phone...
any idea to fix this, please?
(sorry if it's a problem to post it a second time, but I don't know if the problem come from the ROM or not...)
Well, I have the same problem with the wifi. It sucks cause this rom is really fast and non-functional wifi is the only deal beaker... Try to contact the developer Coburn and ask him. If you reach him, tell him that I already posted a log of the problem on the project's site.

Any news on this? I really like the ROM but not having wi-fi completely kills it =\
None so far... And I doubt that there ever will be a fix for the issue. I abandoned this Rom.
hi, I didn't find a real solution for my problem... I just installed an app named "wifi static" and I set the few network config I use usually, it works, but I can't connect to any free hotspot easily.

[Q] Spontaneous restarting on particular WPA Enterprise network

Hi,
I've been having a problem where my phone is restarting itself intermittently while I use the wireless network at my school (Purdue). I've tried both WPA and WPA2 (the school provides networks for both) and seen problems with both. The networks are the "enterprise 802.1x" version which requests a username and password to connect. I sometimes have to try a few times to get it to connect to WiFi (it sometimes takes a minute or two after I first turn on "Wi-Fi". Then, every few hours, the phone reboots itself: I'm in the middle of doing something (can be anything) or the phone is idle in my pocket and then the AT&T boot screen appears. I assume that there is some sort of kernel panic or something else that causes the hardware to reset itself.
I'm fairly sure that this issue only happens in a specific building on campus, so perhaps there is a misconfigured access point here. Even so, this is still a bad problem and could have security implications (perhaps a malformed packet is causing some buffer to overflow).
My phone is a non-rooted, stock AT&T Captivate with the JH7 firmware
I've tried talking to Samsung, but they want me to send the phone to them so that they can "repair it". I've swapped out the phone at the store where I got it for a new unit and the new unit (with new battery) also has this same problem.
The 802.11g at my house works flawlessly.
Ideas?
Assuming that this is a kernel-panic issue, how would I extract a stacktrace or other debug information? Do kernel panics cause the phone to restart itself? Have the 802.11 drivers been updated in newer kernels (what's the chance that a custom firmware based Froyo would solve this issue?)
(disclosure: This question was posted on samsungcaptivateforum last month without any
productive responses. I'm a new user here, so I cannot link to that post yet....)

Thats weird because my phone has no problems like that and I have connected to many WPA networks. I don't know the source of the problem but my suggestion would be try a custom rom before sending to samsung because it can't hurt. If it doesn't work for you then just restore to stock and send it to them. (kernel suggestion: latest speedmod kernel. works flawlessly.)
Do you use "enterprise"/RADIUS/802.1x authentication? (This (roughly) means that you need to enter a username and password in order to connect to your network).
I was trying to wait until AT&T releases 2.2, but I'm getting impatient on that front. I'll try to look for the speedmod kernel, perhaps. My office is in an electronics lab, so I wonder if something is spewing out RF interference in here.

I just flashed my with the Cognition 3.02 firmware and the issue is still present. My hunch is that it is a wifi firmware or driver bug. I doubt that these things are changed in the various kernel builds.... Maybe the official Froyo release will fix it, but at this point I doubt that it will.
Someone in my building suggested that the issues may be caused by us having two separate networks on different sides of the building that have the same ESSID.

[SOLVED] hd7 can't see my wifi network while using custom rom...

Hello all,
I have a weird problem here,
when i flash a custom rom i can't see my home wifi network anymore,
back to stock rom it's showing up again...
went in my freebox settings...nothing helps...i know that flashing gives me a new mac id but i can't find where that could mess up with my own wifi...caus i still see some neighbors one whatever rom i use...
Hope someone will have a great idea to solve this weirdidely thing,
have a nice weekend folks...
Forgot to say that:
-i tried all hd7 mango custom roms, still the same...
-i'm in france if it matters (?)
-my wifi is not a hidden wifi
-changing sim card doesn't fix
[problem partially solved...]
I saw that mac adress is changing every time the device boot...just need to allow infinite dhcp connexions in router's settings...
mac filter can't be used anymore.

General Wifi-Connection-Lost-Bug solved

Hi everybody,
I've solved the Wifi-Connection-Lost Bug!
It looks like that it is an general Android Bug, because this problem persists also in the official ICS Stock-ROM and some other devices, like the Samsung Galaxy Series.
What could you do? It's easy!
Just go to the Wifi-Settings and deactivate DHCP. Instead of that, use a Static IP-Address and make sure that you also set the DNS2! By default, there is an IP like 4.4.4.4 or 8.8.8.8, overwrite it with your Router Gateway-IP.
In my case, I've the Router Gateway-IP in DNS1 and the Access-Point IP in DNS2. My Router and Access-Point are both single devices. If you dont have a seperate Access-Point, then try the Router-IP again. Oh, and don't use a hidden SSID!
I've got 2 LG P990, one of those has the original Stock-ROM (Android 4.0.4), and the other device works with the latest Cyanogenmod (Nighly from 24.02.2013). Both devices have the same Wifi-Bug and it could be solved. Yeeee-haaaa!!!
Maybe it works on your device too?!
:highfive:
...sorry for my bad kraut-english

Another wifi problem

Hi!
I am using my ZUK Z2 PRO for about 2 months. Few days ago it stopped connecting to any Wifi. 4G connection is working.
I was on zui and bootloader locked when it started.
I tried a lot of things and spent much time on it.
Tried
3 diferents routers - 2 tplink 1 sagencom
network reset settings option (on zui it never ends. Get stucked on please wait message)
Mac Address Ghost- to change mac. (some custom roms is showing as 02:00:00:00:00:00 Looks like an android feature developer.android.com/about/versions/marshmallow/android-6.0-changes.html#behavior-hardware-id)
Now after all that i am facing some instabilities.
could anyone help with the wifi?
It looks like hardware issue but you can try this solution for oneplus . You must be on Zui if you want to reset network settings
