Htc M7 trouble installing apps and unexpating restart - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys. Okay so first of all i'm using Htc M7 Pn07100 (801n) Android 4.4.3 , htc sense 6.0 ,software no. 6.13.708.1 ,SDK API level 6.25 ,since the time i got i cant install any appand i cant even sign in my google account but i can make new account, i already make one account and it worked and then i could not install any app, some apps work some dont work, like massanger does not work , whats app works, Fb app doest not work, but some times everything works fine but it works after 20 restarts or more i dont know but it does work sounds crazy. I did some research on my M7 when i check in settings >about >tell HTc and error reporting > ( now here i see RED WARNING saying that ) this is a Test Drive ( and bla bla as we all know the text. ) that was 1 problem. I install one app called CID in this i saw many MID of M8 was confused and then when i scroll down i saw another rid M7 i dont really remember but something was there. Even the FM does not work, i think the software is not correct in the bootloder it shows M7_ul pvt ship s-off RH CID-11111111 , Recently i unlock my M7 now everything is format in my phone. i need the right software
I live in UAE. i dont know much as an expart but i know some so i need you guys help.

Your baseband, version-main,meid and mid are telling that your phone is a M7WLS (the Sprint CDMA variant), not a M7_UL like reported in the "product" line... The previous owner probably tried to convert that phone to another gsm version which is not possible (only M7_U and M7_UL firmware/software are cross-compatible, not the M7_WLS). I would first take a look at the partition layout to be 100% sure what variant is your phone (M7_WLS partition layout is different than the M7_UL) and after, flash the appropriate RUU to restore your phone back to stock. It's a common problem to have instabilities and bootloop when using a GSM rom on a CDMA variant...
To list your partitions, connect your phone to your computer and make sure "usb debugging" is enabled from the developer menu. Open a command window from your adb/fastboot folder and type:
Code:
adb shell
make sure your command prompt change from the regular ">" to "$"
then type
Code:
cat /proc/emmc
The output should look like this:
Code:
D:\Programmes\Android SDK Tools\platform-tools[COLOR="Red"][B]>[/B][/COLOR][COLOR="DarkOrange"][B]adb shell[/B][/COLOR]

In the left column you can see the partitions numbers and in the most right column the partions names. Fox example a M7_UL will have a "recovery" partition located at p34, "system" at p35 and "boot" at p33. If your phone is a Sprint M7WLS, your recovery partition will be located at p36, system at p37 and boot at p35.
Waiting for your results so I can be 100% sure which files/ruu you'll need to flash.

OK, definitively a M7wls. You can flash the latest Sprint RUU (backup any important file first, it will wipe your phone). You can find the RUU on HTC website. http://www.htc.com/us/support/rom-downloads.html#sprint
6.23.651.10 is the latest version for your phone. The file is an executable, double click it and follow instructions.
Once the ruu is flashed you might need to Sim unlock the phone again (if you're using another carrier than Sprint). If this is the case, this guide should help: https://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-htc-one/general/sim-unlock-lollipop-t3068192

i cant really understand what is the main reason the device gets hang even before updating rom it using to hang and then gets restarted but now it stays on rebooting logo ( HTC one , powered by android ) in white background.
thanks.

How log did you waited? The first boot can be longer than usual. Everything looks fine when looking at your getvar all.

[REQUEST][RUU] HTC One Dual SIM 802d M7C_DWG

Hi All,
I have an Indian HTC One Dual SIM 802d M7C_DWG.
I'm looking for any RUU for the handset or any custom rom to flash with this model#.
Kindly help ...
Hi All,
Even i am looking for the same. tried to root my phone and now for some reason it keeps booting into the bootloader. i have cwm installed and i can even use it to install a rom. but even after that it keeps booting into the bootloader.
PLEASE HELP !!
The RUU can save me !
Please help!!
I have a HTC One 802d (m7c_dwg) indian dual sim version..
I have messed it up pretty much.
I am new to XDA forum. Maybe I am not able to search well.
However, when my phone was working perfectly fine and stock it was:
version: 0.5
version-bootloader: 2.27.0000
version-baseband: 1.01.32.0917
version-cpld: None
version-microp: None
version-main: 2.23.720.2
version-misc: PVT SHIP S-ON
product: m7cdwg
platform: HBOOT-8064
modelid: PN0751000
cidnum: HTC__038
partition-layout: Generic
security: on
build-mode: SHIP
hbootpreupdate: 11
gencheckpt: 0
After this I have made a terrible mistake.
I went S-OFF and flashed this RUU. The onl;y RUU.exe i could find.
ruu_m7c_dwg_jb_50_htccn_chs_ct_1.12.1401.1_radio_1 237.17.18.0423release_signed
This has changed my hboot, software no., radio everything and i am not able to get any signal on my phone.
After this i upgraded the firmware to
OTA_M7C_DWG_JB_50_S1_HTCCN_CHS_CT_2.40.1401.1-2.36.1401.1_release_339188zxf4sldwhr7k7cw8
MY condition now is:
(bootloader) version: 0.5
(bootloader) version-bootloader: 2.27.0000
(bootloader) version-baseband: 2.03.30.1025
(bootloader) version-cpld: None
(bootloader) version-microp: None
(bootloader) version-main: 2.40.1401.1
(bootloader) version-misc: PVT SHIP S-OFF
(bootloader) serialno: HT382MP00013
(bootloader) imei: 357607050351635
(bootloader) meid: A1000037A614ED
(bootloader) product: m7cdwg
(bootloader) platform: HBOOT-8064
(bootloader) modelid: PN0751000

(bootloader) battery-status: good
(bootloader) battery-voltage: 4120mV
(bootloader) partition-layout: Generic

(bootloader) boot-mode: FASTBOOT
(bootloader) commitno-bootloader: dirty-b78ee36f
(bootloader) hbootpreupdate: 11
(bootloader) gencheckpt: 0
Still of no help. I am not getting any signal even now. Whenever i try to get back to stock via installing Nandroid backup i created when it was stock. It flashes well.
But as soon as it boots. It reboots after few seconds and keeps rebooting like that.
I dont know now what to do. I have tried flashing soul ROMs, still the same issue.
It boots up but i dont see anything on the screen, just the battery icon and no signal. it again reboots.
PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO NOW.
If you can post HTC One 802d indian official firmware package, it will be of great great help.!
Also, Please tell me how i can get back to S-ON as i will have to visit service center, i suppose.
Please Help!!
(I am sort of a noob, please don't mind if i sound dumb)
THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP IN ADVANCE.

Why do you specifically need OTA Update? As far as I can tell the CWM backup would do just the same...you can strip what you don't need from the Nandroid.

oh the ROM will work fine, just not the OTAs, due to different MID
the M7_U rom will have a different fingerprint ID, so it will download the M7_UL OTA, but will get a "variant system error" (or whatever it's called).
even if you check the OTA updater script (below is one for an m7_ul) it will fail the MID assert:
Code:
assert(file_getprop("/system/build.prop", "ro.build.fingerprint") == "htc_europe/m7/m7:4.1.2/JZO54K/162357.7:user/release-keys" ||

You have s-off, you can use any M7_U or M7_UL ruu you want. I guess it was a x.xx.401.x variant before, hard to tell without knowing your original cid. You can change your cid to HTC__001 and use a x.xx.401.x ruu for PN0710000 (not PN0711000) and cid HTC__001
Thank you for the answer! These are the old values:

So I can just change the IDs with one if the AiO Tools and then flash a RUU? I've not been messing with my phone since back then so I forgot some of the steps
Edit: According to this site http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/ruu-zip-downloads/ i had a 207-version before, not the international 401. Can I still just flash a 401? All I want is a phone without a branding and that receives OTAs. I am sorry for my stupid questions, just want to make sure before screwing anything

yes you can. just make sure your CID and MID match the RUU you want to use, if not, change them to the correct value. If using a .401 ruu then all you need to do is to change your cid to HTC__001 using fastboot and flash the .401 ruu.
Thank you for the great help! After changing my CID with Squabbi's Toolkit 3.2 in fastboot mode, can I just execute this RUU Exe?
http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...0-38r-1157-04l_release_353069_signed_2-1-exe/
Almost sounds a little bit too easy By the way how do I connect my phone to install the RUU via an executable? Fastboot? Download-Mode? Or just booted up normally?
Thank you so much, you're being very helpful!

Use this ruu.zip instead: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95784891001609959. Download and save it in the same folder where you have adb and fastboot installed. rename it ruu (ruu.zip)
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip ruu.zip
fastboot flash zip ruu.zip
fastboot reboot
and don't use toolkits, work directly from the command prompt.
Btw if you want fast answer, quote me.
ahh, my memories are coming back that's how I flashed the google version, too. Thank you. I will give it a try now I'll edit this post and say whether everything went fine.
what is the CID command? fastboot oem writecid htc__001?

Seems like it doesn't work. Wrong file size? Or corrupt download?
Checked the MD5, file is okay. So it is probably really just too big.

Yes you can try the exe but you'll need to flash the firmware first.

Do you mean a *.img file? What would I have to flash? I can't find a comment on that on the German forums I took the Exe-link from.
For Germans: http://www.handy-faq.de/forum/htc_o...c_one_stock_rom_wiederherstellen_via_ruu.html

no not an .img file, If using a 4.xx.xxx.x ruu.exe you'll first need to flash the firmware.zip of the same version number before using the ruu
You can try the ruu if you want but most ppl are getting stuck a 5% "checking headers" if they have not flashed the firmware first

Ah okay. Well then the RUU Exe won't help of course. I tried it anyway and it couldn't establish a USB connection. So back to the ZIPs...
Can I instead download an older version, that is less than 1,5GB? Like this http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu-zip...1-27_10-31-1131-05_release_310878_signed-zip/
I can update it via OTA after that anyway, right? I just wonder, why the phone won't accept the RUU from earlier. Maybe I have to update hboot from 1.54 to 1.56 first or so?

I tried the methods mentioned in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...2512105&page=3 But that doesn't seem to work for me for some reasons I'm not sure what. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance

thank you for your response.
when i tested speed before installing revolution hd ROM, i dad 16MO down with H signal HSDPA without LTE.
Now, after installation the ROM, I have GSM-WCDMA-LTE with H signal but only 2MO down all time.
I think that HSDPA and HSDPA+ is for 3G++ mode , but the RADIO is not well configurated in revolution HD ROM or some thing like that. I dont know really how update the radio to get the maximum speed rate.
best regards

Your problem is not with ARHD, you simply have a different phone. ARHD is made for UL version of M7, so radio is a bit different to allow 4g speeds. Sure, it will work with your phone too, but, as you already know, there will be some issues. Like you say - you have 4g (lte) option, but your radio simply doesn't support that kind of connection. I don't have any idea on how to increase your speed, except flashing a stock ROM for your phone, sorry

Could not detect filesystem while flashing rom on htc one m7

Hello,
I wanted to flash CyanogenMod 14.1/Nougat 7.1 on my HTC ONE M7
and I forgot the nandroid backup. I also format all the partitions.
I tried the flash and it didn't work.
Now I'm stuck. The phone can only access fastboot and adb
(fastboot devices and adb devices respond well)
Since 10 days, I have followed and tried lot of forums and threads but the flash always failed with the same error message :
"Could not detect filesystem for /dev/block/platform/msm_ unmount of /system failed;
no such volume; patching system image unconditionally; Error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard
HELP NEEDED PLEASE. Thank you all in advance and sorry for the bad english. I'm french

What kind of recovery do you use? maybe you use an older one that doesnt work with android 7 Roms. If so, update to latest version and try again.

Thank you very much for your reply but I've already managed getting back the phone work.
I used the rom MaximusHD 3.0.0 which have a newer firmware than the main version of the phone. And it worked very well.
To do so, I had to flash (fastboot mode) the boot.img extracted from the zip first and then flashed the zip in recovery. It was a bit long but all working now.
Thank you again
EDIT : I don't know how to put this thread in SOLVED STATE.
