I installed CM6 onto my sister's Hero as well as my mom's Hero. My Mom's Hero works fine but my sister's will not connect to the 3g network! I have gone through and turned on/off all of the network settings and can't get it to re-enable the data services. Wifi works, calls/text work, just not the internet connection over the mobile network. I tried flashing Fresh to see if that would work and I get "Data Call Failure - Error Code 67 .Registration failure. Your PCS Vision username and/or password may be incorrect. Please try again." repeatedly. The 'Mobile Network' in the settings menu in Fresh stays stuck on "Turning on...". I don't get that error in CM6, however. I've tried reflashing/wiping as well with no luck. Is the 3g radio separate from the radio that does calls/texts? Is there a way to check it? I don't want to tell her that I broke her internet connection :/
What radio are u using on that phone? And what all have u wiped?
Root-Hack-Mod-Always™
I was using the most recent radio I believe, 2.42.01.04.27, and I tried wiped everything in recovery. I continued searching for an answer and was able to find a thread that solved my problem! http://androidforums.com/sprint-her.../13197-data-call-failure-error-code-67-a.html
I just had to go into system updates in about phone and perform a 'profile update'
When I first setup her phone she couldn't remember her gmail password so we reset it and she was able to log in. I completely forgot but her 3g worked for that day! the NEXT day we noticed it wasn't working and it stayed like that for a few days until I was able to fix it now. She set up her gmail account at the sprint store when she first got her phone, could her gmail password somehow be related to her PCS username/password so that changing it screwed up her ability to login into the sprint PCS service? I'm still confused as to why this happened on her's but not on my Mom's phone, and never on my phone!
I had this happen saturday night,, running dd 2.8.. data would not start for nothing.. I nandroided back.. and all is good!!
Last night I updated to the OTA Gingerbread firmware update and have been having WIFI connection issues. I have tried changing the sleep state settings, disabling 3G and performing numerous factory resets. The WIFI connects, disconnects, scans for the router connects and repeats the process ad infinitum. A call to Sprint customer service resulted in "Please take the unit back to the store so the firmware can be DOWNGRADED." It was a very short call and I forgot to ask if there were other people with the same issue, but I am assuming it may be. Could someone else confirm or verify they have or do not have any WIFI problems. This is mostly for my own curiosity but maybe it's something else too.

Worked normal for me on Gingerbread...
Yup, my tab is working flawlessly on wifi. And i spend all day on it (WPA2 enterprise and WPA2-PSK.)
I don't. Try rebooting. Try flashing with Odin back to ea24.
Sounds like your update was corrupted. Try reverting back to ea24 and re-upgrading to gingerbread again. The instructions are all over in the development section. If you take it in it sounds like that is what sprint is going to do for you.
I have experience similar issue before "connects, disconnects, scans for the router connects and repeats the process ad infinitum". At that time, my solution is(suppose the network name is MyWifi) "Wi-Fi settings"->"MyWifi"->Forget.
Then, re-scan this network, re-enter the password etc...
Thanks for all the replies. I had to reflash the rom after a full wipe. Now that there is a rooted version I did the same thing...flashed twice to be sure.

Thanks for the tip, I was having a severe wifi problem after the upgrade and that fixed it right up.
Hi! I just bought my z3c and everything works except that most of the times, when I try to connect it to my home WiFi (Netgear DGN2200v3) I get an "Authentication Problem" message. I became aware of this issue when coming home and the smartphone would not auto connect.
I read somewhere that putting it in Aereo mode and then turn on again WiFi would do the trick, and in fact it does, but obviously this is not a solution.
I tried to:
- forget the network and reconnect
- triple check the password
- change wifi channel
- restart the router
- update the router firmware
- change some wifi settings on the z3c like switching on and off Optimize WiFi and Auto IP support
Is there anything else I can do?
Change the wifi security type.

Done, from WPA2 to none and back again.
However I just tried to reset my wifi settings with FXR WiFi fix and rescue and it worked. No more issues with autoconnect, no more authentication problems after a couple of tests.
My guess is that I had some previous backed up wifi profiles from google that were messed up, resetting them did the trick.

uh, I haven't needed to turn off google backup. maybe you should try to reactivate it, as new wifi data now are unlikely to be corrupted and can be backed up
I just wonder if my settings screwed up on z3c side or on nexus4, my previous phone.
well, whatever
Unfortunately didn't work for me.....
Hello all, so yesterday my N6 started doing funky things. My data refused to turn on (it had the exclamation point next to signal bars). I couldn't send/receive text messages and then my phone froze. I rebooted, then found out ALL of my saved WiFi passwords and all of my saved networks had disappeared. So what gives? Anybody else have this issue? It sucks because I had a few hidden WiFi networks saved on my phone, and now I'm having difficulty finding them again.
I have had this happen to me as well and its extremely annoying. the quick fix would be to do a factory reset and hopefully it will restore your passwords. Happened on my N5 as well.
That's what I was afraid of. Having to do a factory reset again. Ugh! I've done more factory resets on this phone than I have with all my phones I've ever owned, combined.
Yea I will probably do one when 5.1.1 drops
Hey I just had this happen too. Phone froze then rebooted and WiFi saves we gone (grr). Open networks or hotspots like xfinity (I have xfinity so I use my sign in from the account to access them) are still saved...weird. I guess those are saved elsewhere like part of the webbrowser (chrome)?
Very common with lollipop. no fix, but you can back up data...misc...wifi...wpa_suplicant.conf then copy it back when it happens.
For me I tried that and the system would just overwrite the file
Is everyone here encrypted? I am reading that might be an issue. I am.
Hmmm. Maybe as it happened on my n5 and it may have been encrypted at the time

5g or 2.4g or both? I've had some strange on and off issues with WiFi and I've narrowed mine down to 5g. When I connect to my 5g network, I get drop offs frequently. Never lost a password but when I'm on my 2.4g network, the issues subside.

I've had enough WiFi anomalies with 5ghz, that I've disabled it on my router. Everything works without problem on 2.4 GHz for me.
This has absolutely nothing to do with 5GHz, nor encryption. Its just a glitch in wpa supplicant that it occasionally deletes its config file.
Also, if you experience this problem, I can't imagine what anybody suggesting a factory reset would be thinking, but that definitely won't help get your saved passwords back.
When you factory reset. They will download the wifi settings from Google servers on set up. This has worked for me in the past.
I also have this issue... Any fix?
It looks like my device is not autoconneting to the wifi. I don't know the problem. I always leave my wifi on in my device. It used to connect automatically before, but not now I have been observing this since last 3 weeks. It only connects to wifi if toggle the switch on to off and again on. And if I go into wifi settings it starts searching. Is this a known issue or else something wrong with this device. I always keep the wifi smart network switch off.

I have the same issue but it doesn't happen all the time. I usually notice it while I'm at work later in the day or when I get home and want to throw netflix on the chromecast.
Yes it's the same issue.

Same issue here. For me it happens when I reboot the phone. When it turns back on it does not reconnect to the wifi network. In fact, it asks me for the password again like it never saved it to begin with.
But my phone doesn't ask for the password.

Let me rephrase that. It doesn't reconnect and when I go to manually connect it asks for my password again like I've never connected before.
I have just reproduce the scenario, I am at my home and it didn't connect to the wifi (wifi is on). After seeing your reply I have turned of the phone (not robot button) and powered on the phone and that magically connect to my home without doing anything.

Was definitely a problem with permissions, reinstalled after a wipe and no problems at all.
What did you exactly do can you give me steps to do what you have done.

Opened flashfire and did a wipe and flash of cleanrom. Running perfectly.
So I have gone through the safe mode on s6 and everything is working fine and it automatically reconnects. The problem is with the apps we install. To my point android test app is getting this worse. I had ton of apps installed and don't know which one is causing the issue so I have to factory reset the phone. And tried to install apps one by one and this time the only I need the most and the problem is solved.
