Diamond Missing internal storage
I have discovered the same issue of the Internal storage missing, I have tried flashing it with the latest and greatest firmware and nothing appears to bring it back. It just does not show up when the phone and when I go to memory it just says that the Internal Storage card is not installed.
Any help would be fantastic.

Hi SurfHost,
The storage is missing even when the phone is unplugged from the PC,
It is a real concern, when I first noticed is when I went to play music while I was driving and the phone could not find the music that was stored on the internal storage. mmmm
I am concerned its buggered.
If you run some Programms you cant acess your internal storage. (had the same problem with tomtom for a while).
HI i have the same problem. with my orange diamond. secound phone to do this.
orange giving my problems with changing the phone again.
i spoke to htc direct and they were very helpful. after a long phone chat with there engineer he agreed the phone is faulty.
they have had cases were a double hard reset somtimes brings the phone back in line. but in my case it didnt work.
did you connect your phone to your car stereo? and then it became faulty?
Maybe theres somthing in these readers which trips the phones up?
The Internal Storage only disappears when you set to use it as a high speed mass storage device and not an active sync device.
Try changing the usage over and see if it comes back.

The poster says this in his second post: The storage is missing even when the phone is unplugged from the PC.
Try to read before you post, and welcome btw
Hi dazkent,
How do I do a double hard reset?
I am willing to try anything at this stage.
Besides from it losing most of its memory, I still love this phone, but not having the space for Mp3s or TomTom apps its just a simple phone.
Looking forward to some help
Thanks everyone

Never heard of anything called 'double hard reset'. I'd suggest performing 'ordinary' hard reset, here is the how to:
1. Pull out the stylus.
2. With the device turned on, press and hold the VOLUME DOWN and
ENTER buttons, then press the RESET button with the stylus tip.
3. Release the RESET button, but continue pressing the VOLUME DOWN and ENTER buttons until you see the message on the screen (about all the personal data being deleted)
4. Release the VOLUME DOWN and ENTER buttons, then press the
VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other
button to cancel the reset.
If that doesn't help I'd try to put newer ROM in if I were you.

If you had come to this stage . . . .
I suggest that you goto: Start > Setting > System > Clear Storge > in the drop down panel select "Format InternalStorage Only", see whether is works . . .
You are the one who decide, is you Diamond . . .
I would be happy to format the internal storage if it was seen by the OS, it just does not show up. I will try the hard reset now and see what that gives me. Thanks everyone for your help so far.
HI
Double hard reset. was sugested by the engineer at htc. when trying to solve this issue.
basiclly perform hard reset and as soon as reboot finish perform again.
It didnt fix mine and the htc engineer said my phone was faulty.
After 6 hours back and forth on the phone to orange.
Orange finally replaced my phone for the 3rd time for this fault. had it a week now and current phone seems to be holding out fine. although now i have a battery drain issue with this one!
My Diamond loses Internal Storage when connected to the PC as a USB disk - as expected.
Sometimes it does not regain the Internal Storage when unplugging it from the PC. My assumption (not yet tested) is that this tends to happen when the File Explorer is open on the Diamond when disconnecting.
Completely powering off+on the Diamond (not just Standby) solved these incidents for me every time so far....never needed to hard-reset.
I have exactly the same fault.
My internal storage will return if I do a hard reset, but that's a pain to set up my device from scratch everytime.
After using it for a day or so (using Active Sync at work and mass storage at home), it will lose the ability to 'see' the internal storage.. either via mass storage or Active synch connection, although plugged in as a mass storage device the PC can still see and use it as normal, just active synch or the phone itself can't see it.
I'm not so sure that this is a hardware issue, I think the phone still thinks it's connected via 'normal' usb.
Any ideas, I'm on Rom 1.93 and the issue is still occurring. It's doing my nut in!
The best way it's to use linux...
Just connect the phone to the pc(with linux), chose the disk option on the phone.
Then on the pc go to the partition manager and on the right top side chose the phone memory.Chose and eliminate that partion and after that just create a new one. This not very complete any doubt's just post...
I have done this one Ubuntu, the 8.10 version, with the disk running, not instaled on the pc.
if you are a sprint user this is the solution http://www.htc.com/us/supportdownloa...id=148&act=all i have the same problem but im not sprint
I had this problem once also. Diamond could not see internal storage.
I opened file explorer and saw that i had
Internal Storage
and
Internal Storage2
Internal Storage did not contain anything though
What i did is rm the Internal Storage folder and Soft Reset.
Everything back to normal...
actually while you enter the hardreset menu there are two options, choose the one that says hard reset along with formatting internal storage(moviNAND or somthing).
No Internal Storage Install
My Diamond (P3700) have the same problem.
I tried use hotfix here http://www.htc.com/us/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=148&act=sd&cat=all
but it's said : ''Please use the correct device to install this Hotfix Program!"
Is there a way to get my internal storage back??

Yo bro, i encountered this problem before. no worries.
all u need to do is:-
1) connect your diamond to ur pc.
2) format your internal memory there.
3) flash your phone again.
4) you will have your internal memory back again.
Note: dun try to connect your phone to your car audio again.
Does anyone know why this happens? Whenever I turn USB debugging on, my comp cannot recognize the device...whenever it is off, 2 drives show up which is exactly as I intend to happen. However when it is off, nothing happens. Anyone have a solution to this?
Mine did that also not sure what the deal was, I ended up removing all drivers in windows and reloading them - didnt fix. then I put a new kernel on my phone being one was there to update from what I had in it started working again. The drives would show up in both debugging and non-debugging mode but I could not access them. I can only assume this was the phone causing the problem. I suggest starting with drivers and checking all phone settings before any further actions.
Mount the drives for mass storage. Post in Q/A next time.

It's in the notification tray. +1 on Wrong Forum.
i had my phone connected via usb like a mass storage device with OpenRecovery when my pc crashed for god only knows what reason... it seems to coincide with the phone simply DYING, meaning that now it doesnt even turn on, no OR no nothing, the only thing that does work is the charging light when i do plug it in... however that is all i can do.
so did i just break it? if yes - someone shoot me... if no - how do i fix it? i dont care for whatever was on the phone since i just had it all backed up and was about to wipe everything and reinstall a new CM6 version since by mistake i've gotten myself a little older one... anyway. help?
EDIT: on second thought disregard my stupid face, something tells me that while doing nandroid backups and other crap i killed the battery and simply have to charge it, i was able to get back into OR however the phone turned off before i could connect it to the pc, i'll probably turn off panic mode and go sleep on it while the phone is plugged NOT into the pc for charging -.- I would still like to know if my theory is right... etc etc...
Hello I recently smashed the screen on my Xperia z. Is there anyway to unlock the phone without using the screen at all? Please can someone help me ive been digging for hours. All i need is to unlock the phone so i can access the data on it via my PC.
The data does not show in windows or via any sony pc apps while the phone is locked.
I read a thread that was to do with the same problem but it was with a NEXUS 7, The post is very old.
Is it possible to do it with an xperia z? I will be so grateful if anyone can help
Ive downloaded SDK already in preparation.
Thank you.
You can't see anything at all?

There's an app called magic unlock that you can unlock your phone by swiping the proximity sensor but the thing is I don't know how you gonna download and set it since you can't unlock the phone now lol.

Nope nothing of any real value just heavily distorted colours. cannot touch anything on screen
OK, so after a while trying to access user partition via adb shell, pull, adb file explorers, etc. With no luck, I found that if:
You turn of your phone, hard power it off in your case since you can't confirm the on screen dialog (volume up + volume up until it vibrates three times).
Now that the device is turned off, plug both ends of the usb cable to the pc and phone, it should beep whatever, and then the charging animation should come up.
Turn on the device and let it boot without unplugging the USB.
When the device gets to the sim unlock screen, the PC should recognize the internal memory and you can access to it, since it probably hasn't load the pattern unlock stuff.
Give it a try. I've just done it several times and can access my data partition entirely.

Thankyou so much for your help, I wish I could say it worked but it hasn't. I did exactly what you said and my computer starts to recognise the phone but stalls on loading up data. it stops access to ''MY COMPUTER'' until the phone is removed at which point a dialog window pops up saying ''sony xperia z connected'' but of course now its been disconnected i cannot access anything regardless of the dialog window telling me my phone is connected
any other ideas? I really appreciate you putting in the time to help me
Just got it to work!!!! Thank you so much for your help. After I realised that the problem for loading extensions may be coming from my PC I ran AVG tuneup which fixes all hidden errors and it worked Instantly.
I recommend AVG tuneup to everyone, especially if you play a lot of games or install a lot of programs. Whenever Ive noticed sluggish performance on my PC i've ran a full scan and it has always fixed any issues.
Thank you so much again for the great help, very impressed with this community and its great attitude toward helping others.
So it was a drivers issue of some sort. Did my method worked in the end? I found it randomly. I call it a security issue though, this time came in handy.
Glad you could fix your problem.
Hi,
out of nowhere, my phone deleted my email accounts (and the emails inside). It took me a while to identify it was actually the phone which deleted it.
The phone's display did not work. When I turned it on, it shows the Galaxy logo which then disappaers in a way that you believe it run out of power.
I connected the phone to the computer and noticed it got a lot of free space, so everything on it obviously got deleted.
Here is the interesting part: The only feature which does not work is the display, everything else functions normal. I can receive calls, it vibrates, the LED light flashes etc.
So you might think this is a hardware issue. I thought the same thing. I cannot put the phone into recovery mode (don't ask me why), but I can put it into download mode.
While being in download mode, the display remains on without any error.
I flashed already two Roms. The phone is a Korean version: E210S
The issue remains. How can I make sure the device got totally wiped during the flashing process? I still suspect there is a virus on my cellphone. At least I do not have any better explanation for this behaviour.
Your help is appreciated
THanks
have you tried to install an antivirus?
since you can't get into recovery(with and advanced recovery it would be easy to do a full full wipe)...you need to flash your firmware and have checked the repartition box...that requires a .PIT file...there is one on the forum...just a quick search and you will find it...but not many peoples replied to that...some said boot loop(maybe don't know how to use it)....
but even if the PIT is ok i don't know how to use it...on my s mini(s5570) used successfully the right PIT file(several times) but firmware came in 3 separated files....now it comes in 1 file...
can someone with more experience let us know? i also want to know how to fully erase the phone...
I'd buy a micro usb to hdmi plug, and plug it into my tv. then download an antivirus on my phone and that way scan it.

I cannot find a PIT file for the E210S 16GB, was only able to find one for 32GB. Any help here?
Thanks
