XOS is a new generation Android-based cutting-edge OS based on the Android Open Source Project and Code Aurora Forum releases.
What is XOS?
halogenOS, also known as XOS is a new Android ROM which ships with the global aim to
become a modular ROM which keeps as high as potentially possible operating
performance on your mobile device while still maintaining a sufficient feature
base of nice, small and minimal features that would not be available via any
external feature base, extension, mod or plugin.
We hope you have a truly halogenified experience!
Internals of XOS
At core, the ROM is composed mainly of components from the
Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and Code Aurora Forum (CAF),
with extremely minor set of components from LineageOS (LaOS or LN) which
have been added to source in order to allow for better cross-device compatibility.
Our LOVE to others
A huge thanks goes to those behind the AOSP and CAF, the LineageOS Project and all of its
contributors for the sources used in the development of the base ROM which we
started with inclusive of all the work and dedication their team puts in order to
keep us updated on the awesome contributions that they make.
We will be keen on ensuring that we be up to date with the code from our base sources,
with regular ROM updates hopefully coming from time to time.
Please do not ask for ETA's (else you shall be spooked by Mr Skeltal). Almost all of us are
students, and with the current lifestyles and routines we have, it is not that easy to acquire
time to develop the ROM, though we'll be sure to keep you updated and release OTAs as
soon as they are available and ready for publication. If you want to be really updated quick,
then join us on Telegram: http://telegram.me/halogenos
Visit our website for features such as: Downloads, Information etc.
http://halogenos.org
Although no data should be lost or damaged by the flashing process,
we advise you to follow the following steps if you are coming from another ROM:
Code:
* Please take a full [I]Nandroid[/I] backup!
* Please copy your back up to an external device.
* Backing up your [I]Internal Storage[/I] is also recommended.
* When completed, [I]clean flash[/I] the build!
Although you usually may dirty flash halogenOS over other ROMs, considering the other
ROM is built upon the same Android version, it is not guaranteed.
In case of performance issues or crashes please do a clean flash.
You can dirty flash halogenOS 7 (Nougat) over halogenOS 6 (Marshmallow)
without any problems. Although we cannot promise that it will work for you,
although we don't recommend it, we can tell you that this has been tested.
Overall as a ROM, XOS is very stable. Our mission statement has always been of maintaining a clean and properly maintained ROM.
We take proper priority with ensuring that performance and stability are put first, features are considered an extra topping on the cake.

[I](Optional: For `Dirty Flash`, do not wipe anything)[/I]
* Select the appropriate ROM zip and flash the current ROM build.
* Want Google Apps? Obtain and flash the latest GApps from http://opengapps.org/
* Flash any other system modifications you may want e.g. SuperSU/phh's SuperUser.
* Reboot.
Manually updating the ROM
XOS ships with an OTA updater built-in which should automate the downloading and flashing process,
however should your wish be to manually update the ROM, you should be our guest.
Code:
* Download the current version of XOS for your device.
* Reboot into a compatible Android Recovery solution. (Note: We recommend TWRP)
* [b]Please do not[/b] wipe anything, including Cache/Dalvik/ART, the ROM has you covered.
* Select the appropriate ROM zip and flash the current ROM build.
* Reflash any system modifications e.g. SuperSU/phh's SuperUser.
* Reboot.
You do not need to wipe Cache/Dalvik.
You do not need to flash Google Apps again*.
You do not need more than 5 minutes.
* Just make sure that you don't wipe system before flashing.
Screenshots
Currently right now, halogenOS will only include the stock Android theme.
We may one day decide to use a custom theme as soon as that theme is working perfectly fine.

Resurrection Remix 5.7.4 r78 - 01/01/2017 Security Patch Level
These roms are built primarily for people who like to use xposed, like myself.
There has been a number of commits since I last built RR 5.7.4 so to accomodate this I decided to build the new version and offer versions that have a less strict zygote check for those of you that have issues with xposed. Most of the new commits focused on bringing the code up to AOSP 6.0.1r78 and rebranding to LineageOS. I will build a number of versions since there has not been a commit to any code since March 3, 2017. These new versions have a security patch level of January 1, 2017. I will also offer builds with Radon kernel for those users who want to use F2FS as it makes it much easier to do so. I decided to remove RR stats and RR OTA packages as they serve no purpose and make the rom slightly smaller. As with most CM13/LineageOS 13 based builds you will have to use the Goodix_FP_8 patch and a custom kernel if you have a goodix fingerprint sensor.
These roms use the official manifests EXCEPT for the device tree and proprietary files which come from the CM-FK repository - https://github.com/CM-FK.
Note: Roms built with Radon kernel replace the LineageOS kernel repository with the Radon kernel repository.
Note: RR Stats and RR OTA packages were removed as they serve no purpose anymore.
Note: The specific commit used in the builds with a loosened zygote check is here - https://github.com/HealthyMarshmallow/android_frameworks_base/commit/42c6677914a37933fbe8da5a74d0488ea8d035c5?
Note: You must reinstall Radon kernel on the Radon kernel builds for deep sleep to work (I'm not quite sure why). The primary purpose of building the roms with Radon kernel is to make it easier to use F2FS as you can now convert data/cache before you install the rom, leading to much less hassle.
Note: You can get systemless hosts support (with Magisk) on AdAway by upgrading to v3.2 here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2190753
Disclaimer : I am not responsible if you break your phone. Unlocking your bootloader and installing a custom rom WILL void your warranty.

I don't think it will work because there are so many changes since the last Official RR 5.7.4. You can try it but I wouldn't count on it working. There are at least 50 new commits since the last Official RR 5.7.4 was built and these roms use the CM-FK repositories for some added features.

What do you mean? Will it pass safety net? I think there is an edit you can make to build.prop so that it passes safety net or install "no device check" xposed module.

Thank you for your hard work but can you please tell me what is the difference between the normal one and the zygote one.
Thanks bro. Is it possible to improve RR camera quality. Camera quality in official RR 5.7.4 is the worst.

You can try xposed module "ANRC." That has some options to hide root and other things. It worked to let me play super mario.

I've never been able to find that option in any version I build. I use the official manifest minus the device tree. I can try building a version with the official LineageOS device tree and see if it shows up.

In the November android security patch they implemented a whitelist for certain processes that run on the zygote. One of the processes that was blacklisted was xposed. That's why xposed will not work on roms with security patch November 16, 2016 or later. The odd thing is that if you look at the commits for Resurrection Remix you see that HridayHS actually reverted the commit that allows Xposed to run -> https://github.com/ResurrectionRemix/android_frameworks_base/commit/e3f0c3aa0907fa8eaa75ee90c1859b9ebb40e28f. The funny thing is that xposed somehow still works with magisk systemless mode. I haven't tried the non-magisk mode but nevertheless the versions with "loosened zygote check" effectively remove the whitelist for processes that run on zygote fd. It basically returns "true" for all processes on the zygote. It could be that Magisk already patches the zygote detection "on the fly" and that's why xposed works in magisk systemless mode. So, in a nutshell, if some xposed modules are not working for you, you can try the versions with the loosened zygote check. If xposed is working fine for you in the normal version just use that.

The Android Open Source Project
This source is pure aosp and some code is modified
The Aim is to keep it as close to AOSP as possible,
If you want any features added go to the plenty of other ROMs available.
This is for folks like me who want a clean rom as close to pure aosp as possible.
What is AOSP?
AOSP is Android as Google publish without other modifications. More or less AOSP is the Nexus devices stock rom without gapps.
Anyway to get a working system I added some changes from CAF. I added also non-AOSP features for a better user experience and I'm NOT going to add something other.
What's working
- Boots
- RIL (Calls, SMS, Data)
- VoLTE
- Fingerprint

Thanks for your effort. While I do need some extra small features, this is a nice backup option in case Pure Nexus stops development.

Anyway to get a working system I added some changes from CAF. I added also non-AOSP features for a better user experience and I'm NOT going to add something other.

Yes...I'm working on it. Since, cypheros team didn't update the hardware tree for msm8952 chipset set, it's very hard to build using their extended HAL support.

Its not upto to me make it official and i dont think they will support our kenzo again because they removed it from their device list. I wont ask them to support our device because last time it didnt go so well.
Where is the screenshots of this ROM. Put some pics of the ROM anyone
I've been waiting for this!! Thanks for this build. Looking forward to Oreo ??
Got some improper placement of icon and title. Like LTE on data icon should be more to the right (see pict. 2) and also a transparent "reset" word on quick settings (see pict. 1).
Also, I don't get any customization on this ROM, as I know this ROM has plenty of customization.
Apart from those aforementioned, this ROM is good.

The customization are under their respective sections..the battery icon can be changed from the battery section....editing the clock position can be done in the time and date settings..etc.
I will look into the transparent reset button.

One of the best roms based on Oreo for kenzo. Keep it up
What's the average sot on 4g usage? If anyone could post ss it would be a great help
1. Vibration intensity seems very low. Is there an option for customizing it? If not it would be great if you could at least match it with default Nougat/MIUI settings.
2. I know this is probably a problem with all oreo ROMs, but the quick tiles grid with default screen size is 3x2. I can force it to 3x3 by decreasing the screen size in settings, but this is not a good solution for me. Is there any other way of fixing it? Maybe a substratum theme?

Need to wait a bit. But download from SourceForge.

Found two bugs:
1. Expanding DND qs tile gives too short window (some info is cut).
2. FP works but if you have navigation bar disabled and unlock device with FP from dozed black screen, phone freezes for a while and restores previously hidden navigation bar.
Those who wanted to see the screenshots of the latest build. Link is given below. And trust me. This rom has one of the best battery backup among oreo roms. Enjoy
