Audio resources for Idol 4/4S (Ringtones, notifications, alarms) - Alcatel Idol 4S Questions & Answers

I am looking for the audio resources files for the Idol 4/4S in zip or other downloadable format/link, etc.
I found a similar link with a system dump from an Idol 3, so I'm hoping the same type of thing might be available for the Idol 4/4S.
Thank you!

Changing keyboard sounds

I managed to tweak the registry and add sounds to change the keyboard sounds on my kaiser. I even downloaded some sounds from this site and am using the transformers sound as my default; but when I try and add my own wav files...No Luck!
I encode the wave files to the specifications as the sounds i downloaded and still no luck. Can anyone tell me what settings they use when they create wav files. I use Nero 7 as my audio tool but any info appreciated...Thanks
are you talking about the sliding tone?
if so
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > HTC > SlidingSound
Within this registry folder there will already be 3 folders numbers 0, 1 and 2. Highlighy SlidingSound then click on Edit > New Key. Name the key the next available number. Most likely this will be 3. Now you can either copy the three values from the other listings, or create new ones from scratch by highlighting 3 and clicking Edit > New String Value. They need to look like the following with the left values listed under Name and the right values under Data:
Default - whatever_name_you_want
in - filename1.wav
out - filemane2.wav
make sure you put the files into the windows directory. credit goes to "Bgrngod" on the AT&T forums/
this should do it, check it out: http://forums.wireless.att.com/cng/board/message?board.id=cingular&thread.id=72058
I've done this and it works with the wav files that I downloaded from the internet but the problem is when I try to use my own wave files, it doesn't work. What bit rate should I use or are there requirements that only work?
i'm not sure if there is a bit rate requirement, I've done it to 3 other .wav clip sets all with perfect results. upload your files, i'll give it a try, see if we get the same results.
Cool!!! Thanks.......it's all very odd that the clips of the same kind will not work.....Guess we'll have to wit
One last thing......what audio software do u use???
for clips from movies, i mostly just search the net for them. there are tons out there.
for songs and or audio files i have, i use mp3 cutter trial version and wma cutter trial. it only allows up to 30 sec clips on the trial, but my phone only rings for 25 seconds so any more is just taking up space.
source for the music is either cds, napster, or itunes.
Here's my wav files.....really appreciate this!
Alright i made a cab that does the registry changes and pastes the Default .wav files in the /windows folder. All you need to do is make the 2 sound files that you would like.
Name them:
Custom-in.wav
Custom-out.wav
In the settings menu there will be a new field under the sliding sound icon named "custom". select that and you should be good... ENJOY
http://rapidshare.com/files/79748184/SH4Y_Sliding_Sounds_Configure.cab
The cab worked awesome along with the defaults wav files but my wav files still won't play? Guess I'll try different bit rates......unless someone tries my wavs for feedback

Save them as a regular wav with windows sound recorder... I say a max of 2 seconds...
And the cab comes with e40 saying UGHHHH... hahaha

[RINGTONES & NOTIFICATIONS] Ripped From LG Optimus 2X Phone | Wow Wow Wee Wow!

These ringtones and notification tones were ripped from the LG Optimus 2X phone. They are actually pretty kick-ass and hopefully you like (most of) them as much as I do.
Installation Instructions (extract the zips) (not flashable)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Create a ringtones folder and a notifications folder on your SD Card
2. Copy the ringtones & notification tones from the download into the newly created folders
3. Use Root Explorer or File Expert as root (free in market) to copy them to /system/media/audio/ringtones & /system/media/audio/notifications
Alternatively you could use ADB to push them to the same locations from your computer.
DOWNLOAD THE RINGTONES HERE
DOWNLOAD THE NOTIFICATION TONES HERE
Follow this link to get the Widgets from the LG Optimus 2X
Great post, thanks!
Thanks for the extras. I'll add them to my collection.

The problem is that most of the phone developers LG, Samsung, etc put their own ringtones on the device but they don't bother to name them anything unique in the .ogg tags. You might have 3 different sound files of guitar sounds but the .ogg tags are all called Guitar so it appears as if you have duplicates (even though they are 3 different sounds).
That is the case with these sounds. They share some of the same names in the tags with the stock sounds. I'm working on sorting them and retagging some to add to my collection.

Do you have an ETA on when your going to upload your collection ?
Still working on the sorting. I have them converted to ogg and tagged (in English, some were Chinese). I'm trying to make sure there won't be any duplicates. I've already counted 5 called "alarm".
I'll probably upload them as individual collections (HTC, Sony, etc) and then one massive collection.

Mixer_paths, and mixer_gains files tutorials.

Hello everyone, in the past few days I have been searching about the two files mixer_paths.xml, and mixer_gains.xml found in the Android system of every samsung note 5 phone under the derictory /system/etc/ and found very little information about those files, for those who don't know those two files are the root of controlling the Speaker, Earpiece, Headphones, Microphones, Bluetooth speakers, and Bluetooth microphones devices, in scenarios like media play, ringtone play, in-call sounds, in-call inputs, recording volumes, and others, the focus of this thread will be about sharing the information between each other so we can understand those two files and how to tweak them properly to fit our needs, first of all you have to have root capabilities to be able to edit those files since they are system files, anyone who can help us here is very welcome to comment with what they have, bear with me guys because I'm still working on developing this thread, thank you, and have a nice day.
As a beginning here we'll start of course with the main subject of this thread and that's the two mixer files themselves in the original stock form, this is zip file you can access with any reader or unzipper, they're found in the file under the derictory /system/etc/, so here's the link http://www.mediafire.com/download/61cmx98vyb0ee4b/TMO_N5_ReverttoStock.zip , have fun.
Any information about those note 5 android system files is welcome here.
Topic has already been covered before [see link below] - defo worked on my N9200, external speaker audibly louder

Transfering standard Nexus 6P sounds to 3T without root?

Hey.
I have the notification sounds from Nexus 6P, that I would like to use with the 3T because I have become very used to them. They are in .ogg format.
However it doesn't seem to be possible to just transfer them to internal SD and pick the sounds. The sounds does not appear on the selectable sound list.
Is it possible to use those sounds without having to root the device and place the sounds in the appropriate sound folder on system partition?
Best regards,
Hvilsted
You can't change notification sound to your own. You have to use one witch comes with your phone. Sms sound is changeable. Maybe with root you could transfer sounds to media folder and they could work. Haven't rooted my phone, so can't be sure.
Get Zedge, though its a spamming app its sure to have the 6p sounds.
I'm sure you could use ADB to replace the sound files with the ones you desire

Zedge would be the easiest way to do this. They have millions of notification sounds on their app.
Try to convert those sounds to mp3 format, then copy them to appropiate folders and check if they are visible in settings.
I assume you extracted them from Nexus 6P's system image?

Just extract files to ringtones and notifications folders
