Yes, it helps, personally i used kernel adiutor (LineageOS) to reduce clocks on on big cores to 384Mhz and little cores to 864mhz... idle the temperatures are around 38-40 C and when i play "RealRacing" (abit laggy but playable) the temperatures reach 58C max

Many Lineage users agree that battery life on LineageOS is better than stock, but as for the camera (which is O.K. when it comes to quality) the developers couldn't fully port the stock xperia camera, so we don't have the xperia camera mods such as A.R Effect, TimeShift, Etc...
Volte? i don't have any idea what Volte is..

The audio quality is fantastic, you can install Viper4 from MagiskModules, but i don't think that would be necessary as you already get AudioFx app installed on current Lineage builds.

USE THE BETA FROM A RECENT POST IF YOU ARE USING CM13!
This is a kernel for Cyanogen Mod 13 and 12.1, which was originally based on the EvoMix kernel by Alx31, olivieer and SuperHanss. Due to Alx31's lack of time and in order to archive maximum compatibility and to benefit from latest updates, I decided to recreate a new kernel, forked from CM's very latest official one (thanks to qsnc). It has a focus on stability, performance, endurance and overclock-ability (roughly in that order).
It uses the original ramdisk of the installed kernel (thanks to osm0sis), for maximum compatibly in the long run and instant adaptability to most source changes. It should also work with other CM13/12.1 based ROMs, like crDroid and PAC.. Please don't report bugs to qsnc, if you are using this kernel!
Features (compared to CyanogenMod's official kernel):
build using the original Linaro 4.8.5 toolchain
CPU: over/under-clock 1728MHz-192 MHz possible
additional governors: abyssplugv2, alucard, dancedance, darkness, lionheart, nightmare, pegasusq, wheatley
Voltage Control (under-/over voltage)
GPU: over/under-clock 487MHz-27MHz + simple governor
additional file-systems: exFAT, NTFS
intelli-plug hot-plugger and power saver
restrict maximum screen off frequency
Sound Control 3.x (poweramp controls, loudness enhancements)
kernel mode NEON optimizations
optimized AES and SHA1 routines (faster encryption)
compressed by using LZ4 (faster boot)
fsync on/off support (turn of for higher disk performance, but increased risk of data-loss)
KSM support (Kernel Samepage Merging)
multirom compatibility (kexec-hardboot)
fast-charge support (not recommended and only works with dock, not with USB-charger!)
numerous small performance improvements
...
Performance: about 10% faster than original CM12.1-kernel with same settings, and some additional 20% speed by using maximum over-clocked frequencies (use at your own risk, every device is different!)
Configuration: Kernel Adiutor (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grarak.kerneladiutor) or PerformanceControl 2.2.6 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/?id=600#downloads)
Install: just flash the attached zip with TWRP (http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...very-twrp-2-8-7-0-pollux-polluxwindy-t3187811) or CWM
Uninstall: re-flash the complete ROM (just re-flashing the original kernel is not enough!)
Changelog:
2016-04-08:
removed MSM GPU powerscale (more stable and governor selectable)
removed intelli-plug (outdated and obsolete)
fsync no longer enabled by default
synced with latest official CM13 source (many fixes)
2015-12-21:
fast-charge support (not recommended and only works with dock, not with USB-charger!)
synced with latest official CM13 source
2015-11-28:
initial release
IF INSTALLATION FAILS: If the kernel installation is not working (i.e. installation takes less than 5 seconds and you don't see the new boot-logo), re-flash latest ROM, reboot into recovery and try to install the kernel again!
Install a custom recovery first! The simple CyanogenMod Recovery, which comes with most ROMs, is pretty useless anyway..

Hi mate yes evomix kernel has the fast charge. Gone back to it for the time being - it's one feature that makes a huge difference to charging time. Look forward to seeing you add the feature when you get the chance. Cheers

Are you really sure that it actually charges faster? I think the maximum it uses are 1500mA, and that is not even enough for the tablet to run with maximum brightness without discharging the battery! I doubt fast-charging makes any difference..

Tablet Z doesn't have the fast charge function, so I suppose it's just your feelings or the tablet not fully discharged. To me no difference at all.

Under normal charge via microusb port, maximum current is 1,5A, even using 2A charger. But when using dock contacts and ipad 2,4A adapter, it easily exceeds 2A, which significantly reduces charging time.

Still working with CM12.1 ROMS?
There is no newer Rom since 12.1 ?
So i think answer must be: yes
What would you recommend to do to get the best battery life possible and make the phone less hot but again keeping performance,I am currently having issues with heat and battery so that is why I am asking.
Any help is appreciated.
Also running Exodus ROM (CM12.1 basically) with M5 kernel

You didn't manage to solve that slowness issues? Not even with LP roms? I've seen you had issues.
I'm as well waiting for Carbon 7.1.1 to get stock kernel and camera blobs as Myself5 mentioned, and I'll ditch stupid stock Sony rom, as none has been bug free so far (and I mean the official updates from Sony).
And for the OP, I would say go for AOXP, since it's quite fast and smooth, SliMM has better battery life (at least for me) but it is kinda slow, my guess is that it is either overloaded with features, or has aggressive battery tweaks.

I may give it a shot and see how it goes. Like Exodus has had the best balance so far,it is fast and does have a good camera but the phone is overheating so much it goes and drains the battery automatically, mostly when using Snapchat it gets very hot. I will try to run AOXP again,if that one fails on me again I will try SLiMM 5.0(Lollipop ROM) and if all of that doesn't work I may as well try KitKat.
Just to mention,I have downclocked the CPU to 2GHz and changing the throttle temperature do 77 degrees celsius, but the problem is I want to put the throttle temperature to like 65 but it will make the phone very slow,so is it safe to UV(undervolt) and not get any crashes?

It's just weird that even stock roms give you the same issues, I haven't at least had problems with slowness on completely stock roms (official updates through Flashtool). Anyway SlimLP was good enough for me, you might want to search and try another LP, or make a stock prerooted yourself, and then flash some debloat/deodex script, there are a few for LP. That is of course if you can't make MM work properly.
Underclocking your CPU won't matter much if the governor is not set up properly to utilize the CPU steps according to the load. I am using interactive governor with settings from SliMM (see screenshots). It's not going above 1.57mhz, that's the highest it will go, even if max frequency is set to 2.45mhz. Most of the time is at 1.19mhz and 1.5mhz under normal usage, and on longer usage it gets just warm, no where near 65 degrees.
As for the UV, I am at -75mV for all CPU steps (here is my voltage table) but my CPU PVS bin is 6, so it can handle it. I went for -100mV, but it's crashing the system. So before you try, check your PVS bin with Terminal Emulator:
Code:
su
cat /sys/module/clock_krait_8974/parameters/table_name
Lower the number, less stable it will be when you UV, higher is opposite. SD801 PVS bins are 0-15.
UV helped my device stay cooler and improved my battery life, on 5.1.1 my average SOT was nearly 9h, on MM it's less, but even now I get more than 7h of SOT on each charge.
Performance did not suffer, at least not to that extent to notice it.

Pros: Battery, GPS, proximity sensor. Everything works flawless.
Cons: Less space for intalling apps.

Seriously is there's any Custom ROM that doesn't lag while gaming, gangbang my battery with useless processes, doesn't hang up calls by itself.
Briefly I'm looking for a rom that I can use as my daily driver higher than Marshmallow.
I thing You don't find any rom higher than marshmallow. Some stable builds have also some bugs.
I got tired with this device...
Gonna buy xiaomi mi a1. No need to flash any custom roms cuz of pure android.
I recommend you Omni Marshmallow. Fast, stable and battery life is very good.
Well, most of them are stable, but they suffer from a lot of bugs and issues. The only ones that work flawless are those Stock modified ones from Persona.

I'm just bored of this IOS rip-off interface (EMUI) so if I'm gonna install a custom rom i prefer it not to be a Modified EMUI one, and sadly custom kernels that we have now only support EMUI.
Marshmallow stable roms: Omnirom 6.0, Cm13, Lineageos 13, And pac-rom works fine to me.
Nougat stable roms: DotOS,Omnirom 7.1, LOS14.
Oreo stable roms: Nothing ( there's only 1 but have so many bugs)
This is my personal opinion only and you can try them but follow the instructions and if havent signal and wifi try installing fisrt another stock rom L21,l23 etc.

RROS 7.1 ROM TEST 1-1-2018
**Provided test is compared with device hardware specifications and stock ROM along with how the custom ROM should function**
_
Battery life: 6/10
Battery was disappointingly way worse than EMUI battery consumption testing using system panel 2 gave results that there was a large power percentage that is consumed by "unaccounted" which means that ROM is incapable of managing power consumption in a proper way, other major consumers were "Google Services" and "kernel"
Regardless of who's developing this rom Resurrection remix is known to bring performance higher than stock and with the lowest battery consumption possible however in this "Unofficially developed" ROM battery was a real TURN OFF.
-
_
Performance: 8/10 is forgivable
Performance didn't really change smoothness was all around and playing asphalt8 on medium graphics was lag free, video playback was not bad tested original gallery player and performance on MX player also Xplayer there was no noticable frame drops the only problem here is that the device overheats really quick either if you're gaming or playing videos.
-
_
Ux 10/10
Gives your device pixel feel and it's got OMS so you can install overlays "themes" from substratum and have unlimited cool looks for your device.
-
_
Features 10/10
ROM gives you the complete known features of RROS I didn't get to test them all but from what I've seen I don't think there's anything buggy or missing.
-
_
Overall stability 9/10
There was no sudden crashes related to bad coding while using this rom stability was just as good as EMUI.

By stability I mean sudden crashes and compatibility with older apps, video recording and playback is categorized with performance, I haven't had any issues with YouTube or whatsapp video playback works very well and hardware composer works smoothly, I am sorry I didn't mention recording in performance test but it is considered.
I'm sure @surdu_petru can fix this in future updates.
By the way can you please provide link to the mentioned lollipop ROM with good battery life please?

By stability I mean sudden crashes and compatibility with older apps, video recording and playback is categorized with performance, I haven't had any issues with YouTube or whatsapp video playback works very well and hardware composer works smoothly, I am sorry I didn't mention recording in performance test but it is considered.

U will not get 4 - 5 hours for mi 5 rom, im already try many cust rom for gaming ... Its depend on situation .... Higher graphic will consume more battery .. And also for online games ... Network will consume too... So u will not get 4 hours or more with 3000 mah battery for gaming

Ok thanks
Better Gaming does not goes in hand with Battery life
Anyways, speaking in performance terms only, none of the Oreo roms atm since they are a bit slower than Nougat roms for some reason, probably aospa is good for gaming
Stay clear of oreo roms. Los nougat is the oly decent one for gaming. I don't know if any other nougat roms get you better performance but oreo roms definitely don't
i have tried many roms,, but for mi5 (mine is prime 3/32), i use viper os nougat + soda kernel b1.2.1 or you can use RR nougat too with soda b1.2.1 too,, it can handle many games.
