How's the performance and battery on the latest version of Nougat?
Overheating still exists?
How about the A57 CPU cores disabled debacle that existed in earlier nougat versions?
I rolled mine back to 6.0 much much better, my alarms did not work, could not make phone calls..... I think Nougat is a mess on the z 3 plus

I am running stock KK on XT1068 at the moment and I am very pleased with my battery life.
But my frequency statistic show that most of the time my procesor is on the 787 MHZ (78,19%) and
on the 998 MHZ (10,21 %).
Now I see that some devs said that bad battery life and even overheating problems in Lollipop may be caused
because to high processor frequencies and search solution in lower values.
Is this right way for extending battery and overheating problems life because on KK it is quite good with higher values and
there is no overheating at all.
I was facing that little problem in my XT1068 stock KK too, and the battery life is OK, I don't see a big difference when I used Trickster Mod and set the min freq to 300mhz, but in lollipop even this minor difference is important, since the battery backup on lollipop is worst than KK even with min freq at 300mhz (at least on my device, with Stock 22.21.25 5.0.1 for XT1063, and with Titan Prime ROM), if someone can create a init.d script to set the CPU min freq to 300mhz on Motorola Stock Lollipop Firmware, it will be great since the root isn't stable.

Seems like many have received the 6.0.1 update on android one devices as well. Has it improved the battery life compared to the drain issues on 6.0 or is it the same.
a little better, but ... flash thunderzap kernel or cody`s ..and you`ll get around 320-25 for a full charge ..
It's Worse
The battery life reduced drastically after i upgraded to 6.0.1. Especially the screen off time.

Its consuming more juice than lollipop. Was awesome on kitkat
Not great
A1 battery backup is bad
Ever since I upgraded my Note 4 to Marshmallow, the SOT sucks. The Standby time is very good, it only drains battery faster than lollipop when it is in use. Even with that issue, I still don't want to downgrade to Lollipop because the UI is more fluid, more responsive and since I upgraded, I have not experienced hang on my Note. I already have the best tools for extending battery (Greenify, PowerNap and Amplify) and already debloated my ROM. Any suggestions how to extend the SOT on MM or can anyone explains why?
What's the SOT you are getting?

Seems like you are not using network always because your screenshot is in airplane mode.
Nevermind, found the culprit that is draining my battery when I'm connected to a network. The wifi scanning and the bluetooth scanning on location settings.
I'm looking for a new Oreo ROM for my device and care deeply about battery life. I wish I could stick with MIUI for that reason but because of how it handles notifications I can't stick with it. I'd love to hear suggestions on which ROM people would suggest

Oreo Global Beta 8.5.24 which was the last beta that MIUI updated this late is the best Rom to use in terms of battery life. I have tested just about all the Oreo Modified Stock Roms even EU Miui and Miui Pro, and these types of Roms don't quite work well because of and RCS Service drain.. which is a problem. The current Oreo based Rom are having heat issues currently: I have tried AICP, Pixel Experience, Lineage 15.1.. all have abnormal temperature when the phone is idle or doing minor tasks. Last i used Cdroid, i also went back to 8.5.24 after a day of testing Cdroid. I always compare all the roms to Miui 8.5.24 because compared to the current 9.5.6.0 stock and the previous 9.5.2.0. ~ You can tell the difference of battery usage. Oreo based Roms versus Oreo 8.5.24 very big difference in CPU handling and heat accumulation.
Are people noticing any improvement or worsening?
It's been a lot better for me
Battery life for me is ok, with the official installed for the last 4 days. I'm upto 6 hrs sot on my usage and intend to leave it on charge overnight to complete any optimisations that may have not been done.
The call screen number flashing bug is still there though, but no other issues for me as yet.
i dont know guys... its lottery? i went down from 7h SOT to 2h... i did full wipe ect... i heard a lot of people that said it its better for them with battery and a lot of people saying its even worse than oreo

I'm having about the same batt life as I had with Oreo, but I've upgraded to Pie 2 days ago, so I'm hoping it will get better in about a week when the OS settles down and I'm done with setting it up. I've always had the idea that after a major OS upgrade, it keeps doing a lot of things in the background, making it use more battery than expected. For iOS this is even verified by Apple, but I don't know about Android.
Im used pie for about 2 weeks now.
For me, battery usage for idle is better, im got better standby time than oreo, but once im start using it, it drop faster than oreo. Phone also feel little more hot than on oreo.
Im got battery leakage last 2 days and then i realised that putting video wallpaper on lockscreen eat the battery alive even screen is turn off.. Its just still played in background.
Im got constant 6 and half hour of SOT on pie and 7 hour SOT on oreo (from 100 to 20%) of my battery. I
Im not heavy user, just used chrome and facebook only. No games.
So far, phone is more responsive on pie but never been lack on oreo.
However, im monitor my battery charge capacity with Aida64, im got 3139 mAh on pie and 3220-3298 on oreo. Its seems its limit to 3139 only now for my phone.
By the way, im used Note8 with exynos processor.
Pretty much the same as on Oreo on my N950N running Pie.
Note 8 battery much better with pie...... Verizon
I was expecting the same like for years new update new battery drain. This is the best a battery has ever done. I use my phone alot I have stopped background data for the battery hungry apps. With device care. I set it to see a week at a time. I only done this with Facebook and messenger and chrome. Even before it's been great for me I hope that all of you get better battery life. I know it's hard to do things when you have tug battery charger.
Pie is a joke don't update you will thank me
oreo it's a lot better, but i use custom kernel on pie, "phantom kernel" and my battery life it's a lot better even better than oreo with stock kernel.
Not bad.
Some people here hating on pie, more power to you, but I've only had one minor bug with the sound "popping" in the "My Noise" app, turning off Wifi during use fixes it. Also, all the benefits such as Good Lock, Bixby Routines and dark mode more than make up for the one minor bug I have. FWIW I am on Sprint and Snapdragon model.
Curious. Considering updating soon. Need help manuals. OTA keeps saying "processing failed"
