OK Google commands only work on 3rd party roms, please help! - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

Hello everyone, When my phone is connected to my car's stereo and if I am using a 3rd party ROM Ok Google commands work very well, but if I am using official ROMS they do not work, when I press the stereo button to activate ok google, it keeps freezing. please help

Is that true both for latest stable (4.1.6) and Beta channel? In that case, you should stick with other ROMs to keep it working.

[Q] 3rd party headset or hifi-speakers for phone out

Hi all,
I discovered today that I cannot hear the voice of a phone call through 3rd party headsets or through another speaker device (hifi box, car stereo,...) I was wondering if anyone has found a way around this, either with an application, a custom rom or some manual hacking.
Please share your opinions
Also it would be nice to change the answering method to automatic or to something that does not imply sliding buttons only when usb and headsets. This would make my phone convenient for use on my car!
found out that it works on recent speedmod. I had been on darky's 8.0 for too long.

[Q] Wired Headphones Button Not Working

I'm using wired headphones with a button. Sometimes the button will play/pause music, and sometimes it does not work. I tried using the Headset Controller App, and also had mixed results. The free trial seemed to work fine, but once I bought the app, it stopped working. I tried the free version and that no longer works all the time. I uninstalled the app, and it still works sometimes. I'm curious if anyone else is having mixed results using wired headphones? or if anyone knows a solution?
Not sure if it matters, but the headphones are Bose QC20. They always work fine on other devices. Using Google Play Music app.
I have the same problem with my moto X. Only Apple headsets and the one (crappy) that came with my moto X works, even the SOL Republic tracks air in wired mode does not work. When I put an Apple headset and use the button, for a little time, other headsets works inconsistently, but works.
I searched on the internet and found nothing.
Today I tested it with the New Moto X (2nd gen), and the same problem occurs.
A shame for Motorola.

so here's the "problem" which i'm not sure if you're paying attention to or not:
the most current (top most) app will only respond to the button request.
example: phone call - it's the top most app, so you can mute/unmute/hangup/answer the phone call
when i go riding (cycling) and i have slacker playing the same time as endomondo, i have to leave one of the apps on top to get the desired button response result. endomondo responds to the button by giving you current information. slacker responds by pausing/resuming playback.

Bluetooth issues on CM based roms, but not stocked based. (VS980)

Hi everyone, thanks for taking the time to look at this.
I'm having an issue where if I run any CM based rom I get "com.bluetooth.android has stopped responding" when connecting to my Mazda car stereo or my jawbone speakers. I've had this issue on every version of CM that has been out since November. If I use a stock based rom, everything works fine and I don't have any issues. It doesn't matter if I'm using 4.4.2 or 4.4.4, the previous scenario still holds true.
Any ideas what I can try in order to solve the issue or at least narrow it down further?
I really like flashing different roms and checking out the awesome features everyone has added, but I unfortunately need my bluetooth to work properly.
Thanks in advance for all the help!

Ha. I have the exact opposite problem. I have a 2013 Subaru Outback and every AOSP rom works perfectly and any stock rom has issues. Calls work fine on both stock and AOSP based roms, but media playback has always presented a problem for me on stock roms. On AOSP roms I can play Netflix, Youtube, music, etc through my car speakers but I can only get Play Music to work on stock roms. Sometimes on a stock rom, Youtube will play for 2 seconds but then cutoff the audio. The video will continue to play, but the audio is lost. Very strange.
I've searched around a bunch, and it looks like i's not an uncommon issue, but it doesn't look like there's a systematic solution. I assume there are too many variables (car makes, models, years, stereo upgrades, Nav options, etc) to be able to isolate an issue. You just have to keep trying different iterations.
Keep me posted if you find a solution.

Hi there,
thanks alot for your reply and i have followed your advice, i've upgraded my ROM to the latest EMUI 3.0 P7-L10V.........B609 on Android 4.4.2 and still i have the same problem.
I've checked if it was a compatibility problem with my bluetooth device in my car and i have linked it with the Huawei Honor 6 (belong to a friend of mine) which is newer (based also on the latest EMUI 3.0) and it works perfectly.....the audio bluetooth works perfectly!!!
For my case, there is only a standard bluetooth that works in my car which means answering and calling phone calls, but listening to my music from my P7, it doesn't work at all!!!
Any other solutions you might suggest?
Many thanks

Fix Bluetooth Audio - For Calling or Answering Via HandsFree
Hi!, if u have problem answering or making a Call via Bluetooth Audio, the source are Google Now.
To fix this issue go to Google Now configuration -> Voice -> "Ok Google" Detection -> And disable: On Google App and others features.
Then restart your phone and have Fun!

Jecaros, almost threw out my P7. This did the trick after trying almost everything (rom updates, factory reset,..). In my car "Media audio" wasn't showing so I figured some other app was hijacking this service.
Build: P7-L10C900B852
Thanks!

Functionality Questions (RK3188 Eonon GA6150)

Question for the smart guys: when the stock ROM does not support things like steering wheel controls or GPS app sound/volume mixing with third party audio apps (say Pandora or Spotify), why is that? I previously had an Android 4.1 head unit that did support both of those examples, so I'm sure it's the software. I just want to know how to talk about it with people.
Also, when I can connect my unit to BT OBD II adapter, but when I launch the app and try to connect the OS pops up a message saying an app wants to turn on BT. If I say no, it cancels and if I say yes it just says "Turning on Bluetooth..." forever. Adapter worked fine the old head unit, and with a variety of current Android phones, all with the same app. So once again, seems like an issue with the OS.
I just found this section of XDA, can't wait to read more and try a new ROM. :good:
