HDMI tv out, only mirroring?

I tried the tvout with the offical hmdi adapter but it mirrors the tablet including the system bar, and since the resolution of the tablet is 16:10 and not 16:9 I get two black vertical stripes at both sides.
Is there a way to change this behavior? Like a full 16:9 or a 1080p out?

You'll need to change the settings on your TV to stretch the picture or zoom it, most TV's have a setting to automatically do this to hide black bars, the only problem is it alters the shapes, people end up with odd shaped heads etc
So basically there is no way to play on a tv a 16:9 fullhd video or a slidewhow without status bar? I mean, is mirroring the only one mode?
You can set this up to hide the status bar, but 16:9 is always going to be an issue as the tablet is not 16:9
Yes, but still tvout is a limited feature since I can't have an extended desktop or i.e. a slideshow played on tv while working on something on the tab...

Hang on......so you want to play a video to the TV in HD widescreen while still doing something on the tablet ?
I'm pretty sure there's no Android devices that do this
A kind of... My first aim is to play a slideshow on a tv in full screen mode, while seeing the slide's tree on the tablet and choosing which one to show in full screen on the tv.
Second aim is to disable tablet video and show only tv. It would be nice to play a 3d game on the tv, but as long as the video is doubled fps are so low that it's unplayable.
FPS won't be doubled as all you're doing is doubling up the video output, not the data going through the GPU, there's plenty of video's on youtube of folks using MHL adapters to connect to a TV to play games
Yes fps won't be halved but, since a tough game is very cpu intensive, doubling the video it lags a lot more the tablet. My tablet is much more laggy even simply swiping on the home screens or app drawer when connected to a tv.
Flash motley kernel and overclock to 1.4
I believe a Nexus Q will let you send video from the tablet to the TV whilst doing other stuff on the tablet, but it costs quite a lot.
Definitely hear some unrealistic multitasking wants. Also, doesn't ICS improve hdmi out options as far as full screen video, not just mirroring?

The Galaxy note 10.1 has this function in the movieplayer to only show the video while controls are shown on the tablet. This is exactly what you are asking if i understand you correctly.
I'm also looking for more possibilities in this area. Being able to see the picture Gallery while only showing the last picture (or non at the start) would be amazing!

Samsung Galaxy N910T and the N910W( or I think N910W8) SAME?

Are they the same in means of hardware? Specifically the Network bands? Because I want to buy one for use in the US or International and try to unlock it for use in all carriers. Can anyone help, I have found nothing online. I need a phone just like the N910T, if you know any models just like it that would help.

anyone have issues with gear vr being twitch/laggy?

So i have a note 4 ( att version) a gear vr, and i just cant get it to run smooth. When i run google cardboard apps with out the gear vr on it looks some what smooth and seems to run fine. I have a profile created for google cardboard to match my gear vr, but when i use it, i cant help to get past that it feels like it is really zoomed in, and looks super twitchy. anyone else have issues with the performance?
these are my profile settings for google cardboard
Primary button type = "INDIRECT_TOUCH" (this enables the Gear VR touchpad if this option is supported by the app)
Screen to lens distance (mm) = "41"
Inter-lens distance (mm) = "60"
Screen vertical alignment = "BUTTOM"
Tray to lens center distance (mm) = "38"
Distortion coefficients: k1 = "0.215", k2 = "0.215"
All advanced viewer parameters on default values.

Camera Development

Hey guys,
did any of you already had success in accessing the two cameras on the back? Using the camera app that Huawei provides I can select either the colour or the monochromatic camera (putting your finger over one of the cameras verifies that you can switch between both sensors), but when I try to access them through Java (using Android Studio) I am only able to access the colour camera. Even when I change to mono output (captureRequestBuilder.set(CaptureRequest.CONTROL_EFFECT_MODE, CameraMetadata.CONTROL_EFFECT_MODE_MONO);) I only get a monochromatic picture from the colour camera, not from the mono camera. I want to be able to switch between both cameras in my app.
Thanks in advance!
I found that the camera supports the following scene modes: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 15, 33, and 34. According to developer.android.com/reference/android/hardware/camera2/CameraMetadata.html only modes from 1 through 18 are documented. I assume that mode 33 or 34 could be the monochromatic camera, but I do not know how I switch to this mode. I am trying to switch with the following code, but somehow it does not work:
captureRequestBuilder.set(CaptureRequest.CONTROL_MODE, CameraMetadata.CONTROL_MODE_USE_SCENE_MODE);
captureRequestBuilder.set(CaptureRequest.CONTROL_SCENE_MODE, 33);
Checking with captureRequestBuilder.get(CaptureRequest.CONTROL_SCENE_MODE) confirms that the mode is 33, but I do not see any difference on my screen. Any ideas? Thanks!

TwinView Dock II Question: Alternate Display Zooming

Hi all. For games that do not support the second (i.e. built-in) display, is it possible via some kind of software to have it zoom in on a portion of the main display? For example, displaying only the map or a health bar of a FPS game? The functionality is just like the new HP gaming laptop I read about in 2019 that has a smaller second mini-display above its keyboard which has custom software to do just that.
Thanks!
