Trembling Display while Loading with Dash - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

https://youtu.be/kgpNO9wYU5w
When i connect my Phone to a loading adapter (normally Dash), the device starts to trembling as soon as I swipe left-right.
After disconnecting the Phone there are no more issues. I tested several Adapters/Sockets... but i did not find a soution why this happens. When the phone is fully loaded the effect seems to be gone until i have to connect again for loading.
This disturbs me a lot
But i noticed the following. Connected to a 5v,2,1a battery bank or pc everthing seems to be fine.
Could that be an issue with the power consumption of the phone?
I opened a RMA but dont know if this will solve the problem and they just send the unrepaired phone back.
Someone has any idea what else this could be? thx

I didn't have problems with muy cellphone

This may be a problem with your display, wait for the support request to be accepted, and let them know. They will probably send you a new device.
Cheers!

Before starting the RMA, i just tested the device and some adapters again.
So here is what i got: On Dash Charger Trembling (especially with more emty battery and moving the app icons), on other adapters not that strong but also (especially when swiping left/right and then keep holding finger on screen)
Tested on different power cables/sockets... not rlly helped. all other devices in my flat work well.
I have to do a repair and pray for OP they will perceive and repair this issue.... otherwise this will become a long story

[Q] Touch screen behaves very weird.

Hey guys i just bought a nook color and had it shipped to my country but i think i am already regretting it now.
The touch screen starts behaving very weird randomly at any times, it automatically registers touches and keyboard automatically typing own it own, and what ever i touch just goes straight to hell and this continues as long a i don't lock and unlock it again.
Even when i am reading it automatically starts zooming.
I was think about rooting it and installing a custom Rom, will that fix the problem? because giving it back to B&N is not an option for me.
Also i don't have screen guard, and the screen is always smudged with fingerprints, can that trigger this sort of behavior?
I'm using mine in Australia and have a similar problem but only when using the supplied USB cable to charge it.
I've heard stories about faulty USB cables which might be the case as I don't have this problem when I use the cable for my desire. The problem with this is that the cable isn't long enough for practical use and the supplied cable apparently has extra pins which would explain why it still discharges (although slower) when using my desire micro USB cable.
For now I'm limited to only using my nook without the cable plugged in but I'm thinking about finding another cable as sending it back to B&N and then paying to ship it back here isn't really a viable option.
Let me know if you figure something out though.
Well the one with usb cable is a known issue and u can still use it otherwise, mine just happens randomly at any time, its almost unusable.
Does installing a custom rom help?
It wouldn't hurt to try. I know some kernals make changes to the touchscreen sensitivity but I don't know whether that would apply to your problem or not. A nook is very easy to un-root anyways so as far as I know (and don't quote me on this), you should be able to return it if you absolutely have to.
Don't give up though. I'm loving mine and for the price it's an awesome little accessory when it works.
Hi,
Make sure to clean the touch screen - last night I had a different looking
smudge on my screen that was causing huge problems - as soon as I cleaned
it off, back to normal. Are you in a humid location? Condensation will cause
problems too.
Also you may want to search for 'calibrate' in the forums, there is a way to
recalibrate the touchscreen sensitivity, I believe that this is mostly for
low sensitivity at the corners though.
Here are two links I found:

Good luck!

My touch screen acts up as well. I turn the screen off for a couple minutes to "reset" it. It will work OK for a little, then it goes back to wonky.
Hey guys i finally found a solution to this problem, well my touch screen is behaving normally when its not not connected to the power cable. I hope thats a solution good enough for you.
Just go to
h**p://nookdevs.com/Recalibrate_the_NookColor_touch_screen
I tried all the custom roms but that didn't help very much, so i tried this on CM7
and so far my screen is giving totally normal tests results when not plugged in and lets hope that it stays that way.
My daughter had a similar wonky-screen problem when she plugged in a particular set of portable music player speakers. Not another pair she has, just that one.
And I was able to replicate it on my nook. It wasn't specific to her nook.
okay, it seems that my excitement didn't last that long but
After a lot of testing, it turned out that the only problems was my oily or moist fingers.
so i got a screen guard and tested it for more than two hours and i haven't had any problems yet. So even if i do see that happening again, once in two hours is not that bad.

[Q] Camera, LED, headphones not working. Hardware issues?

My girlfriend's N1 has gradually developed some problems. At first the headphones were not being recognized properly. Then camera stopped working. Now that I've taken a look at it the flash light does not work either. If you call someone, 4 times out of 5 the screen goes blank and you cannot end the call. Sometimes this happens when receiving calls as well.
I was using CM7 before and no additional apps were installed. Tried with or without SD card, rebooting, resetting to factory defaults, putting another ROM, restoring to factory ROM.
The symptoms:
- any camera app starts with a black screen and later throws wait/close dialog
- flashlight apps seem to work but no light is coming out
- headphones do not get recognized, tried 4 brands, compressed air, pushing, pulling, pressing. Not a lint issue.
- immediately after pressing a call I get a black screen which I can come out of by pressing a random combination of keys
I tried moving the camera and LED modules with my finger but nothing happened.
Everything else works: calls, trackball with led, bluetooth, wifi.
I had a similar problem with the flash and camera and it was fixed when I swapped out the main board which also has all the ports your having problems with

That sounds unfortunate because the original seller has now closed the shop: site is offline, amazon and ebay products are delisted, does not respond to email.
Even worse, I'm located in Germany and bought the phone here, but I don't really speak the language well enough to contact consumer protection authority and even the HTC support site is all in German. Original box and warranty are in my home country. Sounds like a recipe for disaster.
I've written a mail to HTC support since GooglePhone has closed shop as well.
Since I'm still on a rant, touchscreen has been acting up since day one, upon heating it registers wrong touches, but this is already a known issue.
It was a nice phone while it lasted, but in hindsight I wouldn't recommend it to anyone anymore. It still looks like new fwiw.

Hardware
Its hardware issue caused mayb y dropping the N1
so try to replacing ur main board or mayb u can get it repaired if u have a good engineer around u
Thank If my reply helps u ..
Just as an update, the issue with all these phones is the ribbon cable connecting headphone jack, camera, proximity sensor and perhaps [front] speaker. It's probably an easy replacement and the part cost is around 25-40$. The cellphone repair guy said that he has done it a lot of times for this phone type, so it's probably a production/engineering issue.

Possible MAJOR discovery regarding battery/red lite issue.

So I'm one of the people that's been having major issues with the red light/ no boot issue.
I think the issue (for me at least) is a hardware flaw. Upon completing the steps to reboot the phone (take case apart, disconnect battery, connect power, wait for battery charge indication, reconnect battery) I can get the phone to boot and function just fine.
I have discovered that upon screwing the battery connection back into the phone, it applies a bit too much pressure on the connection which sends the phone back into the redlite "no boot" mode.
TL;DR, If the battery is connected to the phone too "tightly" with the screws, the issue is caused.
Hardware flaw? I think so.
My Fix? Took out the connecting screws, the connection seems to hold without them and there is no more pressure on the connection without the added thickness of the screws (when putting the back of the case on)
EDIT: Here's a video of what I'm talking about, for those of you who haven't had to deal with this (yet?)

Good Idea, will try it if I encounter this problem again. Seems to hold up, though, even when pressing on the back of the case where the connection is made (down and to the left about 0.5cm from the "n" on the back of the case).
bump--I think people should really see this.
Nice find dude!
I always thought it was a software issue but turns out it is not!
It's still strange that most people have encountered the issue when benchmarking.

If the finding is true then here my theory on why it happens mostly during benchmarks. When you run benchmarks, your phone and battery heats up a lot. This can cause the connectors to expand causing screws to get tightened.
i can confirmed this find is true, altough its kinda late for me to read this thread.
here is my version.
im a proud owner of nexus 4. got my phone from the 1st batch order, and the original bumper also
this morning while watching my kid at school, got nothing to do but overclocking my nexus 4 with morfic's latest beta kernel.
silly i put the min and max at 1.8++ghz and run an antutu test on it. and in another 5 seconds the N4 turned off and practically dead. all buttons combo were negatives. as soon as i arrived home i plugged in the official charger. it just blinking red. few moments after i plugged in the N4 to my laptop. blinking red and driver installed notification showed up. then the red light gone. like forever... no red when i put it on charger nor when connected to the laptop.
ok its a dead meat. im in JAKARTA n got my n4 from the US. none of any LG service centre in my country could help me with it. and the RMA things just too far from me.
so since i left with zero to none option, i was wondering "what if i take off the battery?"
i remember read an article from ifixit about how to teardown the nexus 4 then i found the link.
here it is:
http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Nexus+4+Teardown/11781/1
what i did was:
1. follow steps number 6 [pictures #1 & #2]
2. number 7 [pictures #1 & #2]
3 and number 9. [pictures #1 & #2. no need do the pictures #3]
4. see the white wire with blue sticky tape right next to the battery? i dont know what is that but i unplugged the golden head off also.
i left it that way for 10 minutes before i put it back all together again [ including the screw battery port holder. just dont screwed them too tight. give a small effort to none power ]
all done and i pressed the power button. its ON like nothing happened before.
when im about to share my fixed in the other thread, i got someone direct me to this thread. so here i am confirming this fixed is legit
Wow!! This fixed my nexus that didn't even have an LED light. You are a life saver!
It's been dead for a week and I was just waiting on warranty. But now it's up and running like a bawse!

This is simply a fault with your phone. Most likely a chip or component isn't soldered correctly or you have a dry joint. When the board is flexed by some force it is breaking or making the connection.
The time will come when even this "fix" for you stops working.
The reason the phone is sometimes failing during stress tests and not coming back on is a safety device. The lithium battery is reporting it is under stress or too hot and the phone shuts down to avoid an explosion. Because there is a big chance the battery is permanently damaged and so potentially dangerous the phone remains in a safety condition wanting to be returned to the manufacturer for testing. Lithium batteries if damaged can explode, imagine if a phone explodes next to your face while you are talking on it? The manufacturers, not wanting a law suit that disfiguring someone might bring, deliberately er on the side of caution.
It's a bit like the limp home mode some cars have when they detect some parameter outside of the norm. You might be able to reset that back to normal by some hack found on the internet but it hasn't fixed the underlying cause.
Regards
Phil

I'm having a similar issue with my completely stock nexus 4. I can only turn the phone on when it is connected to charger, but this is also very rare. If I manage to turn it on, it shows I have -22% battery left and this doesnt change. I can enter bootloader when charger is connected. I have left it charging overnight, but still it doesn't boot without the charger connected.
Any idea if the fix described here can help me? Can LG service somehow see that the phone has been opened?
I live in unsupported country, so I can't send the phone back to Google. My only hope is this fix here or my local LG service, but I'm not sure if my local LG can even help me, because the phone is not sold here.
Ahhh good thoughts. I've got a replacement battery on the way for that reason... Hopefully it's a problem there.

Nexus 4, 8Gb, in UK
It arrived Sat (2 days ago) @ 80% charge & about 5 mins after unpacking I noticed it was the 8Gb & not the 16Gb I had ordered
Phoned google for RMA - currently awaiting replacement.
Repacked it, took it to work, had a play, installed maybe 3 apps, browsed a lot though - reboxed it afterward. as I had no case & as I didn't want to risk the RMA I decided not to take it next day.
Case arrives from amazon & I'm back to work today, so I decided to risk it - nexus battery almost dead & powered off.
Connected charger - nexus indicates charging on screen when power button is pushed.
As I lift the phone to power it on 20mins later, charging display blanks & red light starts blinking - swap cable, charger & check connections - all ok - nothing but a red light on a dead phone.
*panic*
read internet: wasted half an hour on button combos streetfighter would be proud of

"Seems to hold up, though, even when pressing on the back of the case where the connection is made (down and to the left about 0.5cm from the "n" on the back of the case)."
After pressing down around there, the red light clears instantly, small vibration & nexus is now charging again.
Am glad I'm sending this unit back, if replacement does this within 30 days then I will give up on LG & wait for next gphone; between this and the glass cracking issues I read of, this may not be the best nexus ever quality wise.
tl;dr Almost virgin Nexus got red light & unresponsive on first charge. After all else failing, firmly pressing the back, directly above the battery connection area immediately revived it...

So you didn't even take it apart to revive it? Interesting... I haven't had this issue myself in the 2 and a half months with this phone, but nice to know what to do if it arises.
It sounds like it could be dodgy solder joints, although I'm tempted to say that I'm currently ****ting myself. Things like glass cracking doesn't worry me, people are clumsy and that usually will cause that. However, we have no control over the quality of the circuitry inside.
The thing is, the poster above says wait for the next GPhone, it's been announced for next year. So you're going to be waiting a hell of a long time. This phone I hope will suffice while you do so however.

[Q] Any touchscreen issues?

Guys i read on some forums that Mi3 has touch problems like over touch sensitivity and many users are facing it...is there any user here who facing it or it's an hoax? I have ordered one yesterday and i am worried about it..i was fed up of touch on my old phones..please help
I am also experiencing this touchscreen sensitivity issue. Even just hovering my finger on the screen it already responds. Glove mode is off, even tried it while its on, still the same. Did a calibration, no effect. Anyways, it just causes some accidental touches but it does not mess up the entire experience.

its a myth or because of a faulty device.
if it occurs only while charging then it can be the power socket that you are using. (usually occurs if your phone i still plugged in after it has been fully charged. happened on my s3, galaxy s duos and grand duos as well)
could be because of using local charger, faulty battery, basically anything that can mess up the voltage and interfere with the touch screen (but only while charging) very rare chance almost one in a million that somehow a faulty battery causing this.
no such problem on my dad' Mi3 and i ordered it during the first flash sale of Mi3 in India. no issue or problems in the phone so far.

you can try different charger and different power socket which will eliminate faulty charger, cable or irregular power supply. if even after testing all this you still have problem better take it to nearest service centre because if its battery's fault let the service centre guys take care of it. don't do anything that may void warranty.

Yes it is earthed properly coz the others phones charge without any issues. I even checked the charger. Its all fine.
I had ghost touch problems when USB charging from my laptop...it was cuz I'm using a third-party charger for my LAPTOP charger...when I remove the laptop from AC power, no ghost touch...
So basically, I doubt there is any problem with the device itself (except for the fact that it is so sensitive to improper charging unlike other devices) but I don't think getting a replacement will help. Just use the supplied charger, on a properly earthed socket.
I had this same touch problem. Actually the problem is that the touch misses. What I mean by that is, draw a straight line from one end to another and in between the touch misses and you get a broken line at many points. I cheked it using the Hardware Test function and going into "Touch screen Test". Start to draw a line and see what happens. It will miss after every 1 sec or so.
So, i tried to find the cause. And i came to know it mostly happened when the phone was put on charging and mostly made the phone unusable while charging. It also occured after taking the phone off the charging if it was overcharged. So I used charger of Samsung Note 3 and voila. The problem is gone.
Summary : Charger supplied with Mi3 is piece of s#it. Dont use it. It will damage the screen with static charge that is left on the screen after charging. Get yourself another good quality charger.
I have noticed this problem. There is touch input even while hovering finger about 3 mm above the screen. I don't mind this problem that much but it does become a minor annoyance sometimes while typing. I don't want to apply for a replacement though as the phone is flawless otherwise and I've heard that even the replacements also have the same problem. I have not yet removed the protective screen cover which comes with the phone so I don't know whether that's causing the issue.
Update: I have applied a tempered glass screen protector and the problem is still present.
Sent from my MI 3W using XDA Free mobile app
I noticed yet another problem. The multi-touch is OK for about 4-5 fingers. But above 5 fingers, the touch gets haywire. Ghost touches, touches not getting registered, touch points swapping, etc start to happen very badly. Is anyone else facing this issue? I tested using antutu benchmark.

Hi,
If you are experiencing serious issues like miss typing and random unwanted button pressing by the phone then this is for you! I recently woke up and found my phone spazing out and not being able slide the screen up properly. So this is what worked for me and hopefully will fix your issues too!
1. Install any updates that need doing. Restart phone.
2. Still have problems then turn off glove mode ( settings and then display) and clear and wipe cache. Do this by holding down the up volume key on the side and power button - wait until the screen goes black and then it should appear in recovery mode. Use volume buttons to select the language and the power button to enter. Go Wipe and Reset and then Wipe Cache. See if that works. If it doesn't please look at Step 3.
3. Now try refiguring and calibrating the touch screen through the hardware menu. This was painful for me as all the buttons i wanted to press hit another key! but eventually got it. Try to key this into the phones key pad and call: *#*#64663#*#*
4. You are now at the hardware menu. Find touch screen and then the black screen appears where you can your finger over and draw. Use the button next the home button to get the start calibration menu ( looks like this 三)
and then hit start calibrating and wait for it to work. I actually need to go into setting to change button layout as only apps appeared when i pressed there....
This then solved all the issues and my phone now works perfectly
Let me know if it worked for you!

Touchscreen Issues

Hi Guys; I recently got my new 2nd Generation Moto G but after setting it up and using it for 20 minutes or so I noticed that sometimes while scrolling through settings, contacts and webpages, that when i am swiping over a horizontal band in the exact center of the screen, the sensitivity of that region of the screen becomes very unreliable and the phone will often interpret scrolling as a press. While scrolling in my phonebook it has a tendancy to call people, when browsing the web it has a tendancy to press links i never wanted it to, and this same behaviour is repeated regardless of what application i am in.
It certainly seems to be more frequent and prominent while I am charging the phone, regardless of the charge current. I have charged it from my pc, 1000ma wall adapter and 850ma wall adapter; all with the same results.
Sometimes turning the screen off and on again can rectify this, but its usualy back again in no time
I have tried factory resetting the phone, with the screen protector both on and off, while on charge and off charge and while making sure nothing else could be interfering with the touch screen i.e., a case.
I only got this phone from ebuyer in the UK 3 days ago, 2 days earlier than it was actually ment to come! so its a real shame im having these problems, I've already spoken to Motorola about it and they have advised me to RMA the phone as they cant give me a definitive answer as to wether or not this is a Hardware or Software issue.
Has anyone else been having issues similar to those that I have experienced with their own new Moto G devices

Unfortunately my phone displays this behaviour both on and off the charger. It does however display the issue more frequently while on charge.
The chargers I'm using are all 5v which is typical of a phone charger. I have one at 850ma which charges painfully slow, I have another at 1000ma which charges much more quickly. And I use my Computers USB ports to charge at times, no matter how I charge the phone the problem remains.
Sometimes it will work fine for an hour or so then it will go insane on me. I have requested RMA with ebuyer. Had the phone only showed this issue on charge I may have been contempt with it, but the problem can happen anywhere, anytime and for a brand new phone that's not acceptable.
@ xDDen: have you tried charging the phone from any other source besides the Samsung charger you have?
yes now am charging with moto g's charger and it is working fine now without any issues

Mine actually didn't come with a charger. I was a bit surprised, but checking the Amazon page (for Germany, since I bought it here, though not from amazon) reveals that this seems correct/intentional. It did include the usual µUSB cable though (and it's not like I don't have enough USB chargers).
For completeness sake: I don't have the described problem, no matter if plugged in or not...
Touch issue
I'm using Moto G 2014 charger only and still facing issue bringing down notification panel.
Also i face issue when trying to unlock phone via pattern lock.
Flipkart offering me a replacement- Shall i go for it?
Been having a problem with the screen, mainly on the back soft button part of the screen, keep finger on it and it multi presses like a mad thing, doesn't happen all the time though, was driving me crazy. took off the Ultimate Shield screen protector and the problem went away, put the shield back on and the problem didn't come back, then couple of hours later (today) I got the ota update and the screen goes mad again, took shield off again and the problem continued, a few minutes later and it's all fine again. now (a few hours later) still all is fine.
Problem is I was all ready for doing a RMA to Amazon.co.uk for it, stuck on what to do now as if I send it back and they find no fault.

Same issue here, but without any screen protector. OTA update hasn't changed anything. Sometimes it works and sometimes the screen recognizes double/triple taps where it should be only one...

Well the touch screen issues got way too much for me so I returned the phone to Amazon uk and got a refund, bought another moto g from Argos the same day I returned it and I'm glad I did, everything is ok with the new phone, no screen issues at all.
Moto G 2014 Tocuh Screen issues
Same issue here.
Bought phone 1 week ago from Argos. Initially fine, then suddenly cant use the swipe down notification bar.
Turned on the Show Touch indicator in Developer options and it clearly shows that the screen is registering the touches about 0.5cm down the screen from where I am touching. So you can never hit the notification bar when its doing that. I found that turning the screen off with the power button and then back on again usually clears the problem.
In the UK the phone only comes with a USB cable, so I use a variety of chargers.
I think mines going back as not functioning properly
I also having same issue you should post your emei. It might be I purchased defective from one of previous user having same issue. I'm at Singapore.

Me too! I am very sorry to learn that it is a hardware problem.
I'm afraid to take it to the service center because the problem is intermittent and technicians could not detect it .
Any of you have solved?
If it was a hardware problem we could try asking a kind of compensation, I don't know, some free accessories, or maybe the change of the device...
Had a problem with mine, it would go mental pressing the back softkey, press it once and it would just keep doing it by itself, so a problem with lower left of the screen, sent it back to Amazon for refund and got another one from Argos, this one is mostly alright with the screen touches but will sometimes do a double press or think a press is a swipe anywhere on the screen, it's not been so bad that I kept it, but now other problems like the memory shortage making apps close is starting to really get to me, also the screen rotation get stuck in landscape now and then, even it sometimes goes to landscape by itself.
In the process of getting a different phone as this is starting to annoy too much.
